Mount Vernon/Plankinton 36, Wagner 6

WAGNER — Class 11B No. 5 Mount Vernon/Plankinton grinded out a Friday high school football win over Wagner.

The Titans scored five of their six touchdowns on the ground and bottled up Wagner’s offensive attack.

MVP’s Brady Fox and Kyle Sandland scored two rushing touchdowns apiece. Tyce Feistner added a rushing touchdown and Paxton Nedved hauled in a touchdown reception. Isaiah Olson intercepted two passes. 

Wagner’s Hunter Lhotak scored a rushing touchdown. 

Winner 18, Elk Point-Jefferson 8

ELK POINT — Class 11 B No. 1 Winner scored two first-half touchdowns on their way to a win over Class 11B No. 2 Elk Point-Jefferson. 

Eli Vobr led the Warriors with 13 rushes for 44 yards and a rushing touchdown. Vobr also hit Karson Keiser for a 62-yard touchdown pass. Zac Olson rushed for 26 yards and a score while Gus Bartles rushed 11 times for 54 yards. 

Keaton Gale led Elk Point-Jefferson going 10-of-23 through the air with 147 yards and a touchdown pass to Ashton Fairbanks. Gale also rushed for 42 yards.


Avon 54, Corsica-Stickney 20

AVON — Aziah Meyer powered Class 9B No. 1 Avon to a win over Class 9B No. 5 Corsica-Stickney on Friday.

Meyer rushed for 160 yards on 17 carries and scored four touchdowns. He returned a kickoff for another score. Landon Mudder added 168 yards rushing and two scores. The Pirates rushed for 430 yards. 

For Corsica-Stickney, Waylon Bolle logged 102 yards rushing on 14 carries and scored two touchdowns. Caden Baumiller added a kickoff return for a touchdown. 


Parkston 34, Hanson 9

PARKSTON — Class 9AA No. 1 Parkston scored 34 unanswered points to defeat Hanson during Friday night high school football action.

Parkston’s Carter Sommer completed two of four pass attempts for 37 yards, a touchdown and an interception. Kolter Kramer caught a five-yard touchdown, while adding 125 yards and two touchdowns on the ground in just 11 carries. Kaden Holzbauer added 33 yards and a score on four carries, while Mason Jervik tallied 46 yards on four carries in the victory.

Hanson’s Esten Schlimgen passed for 37 yards and an interception on eight attempts. Sutton Dewald had 25 yards on 13 carries, Stetson Riggs tallied 47 yards on 11 carries, Jason Porth ran the ball three times for 48 yards and a score, while Weston Kayser caught three passes for 15 yards in the loss.


Bon Homme 28, Gregory 8

TYNDALL — Bon Homme racked up 354 yards rushing en route to a high school football win over Gregory on Friday. 

Major Aarstad rushed for 226 yards and scored three touchdowns. Jackson Kaul added 85 yards rushing and a score. 

Gregory’s Landon Keiser had a 60-yard touchdown run and added 52 yards receiving. Lincoln Juracek finished 14-of-24 for 152 yards. Colt Keiser had five catches for 71 yards.

 

Freeman/Marion/Freeman Academy 68, Gayville-Volin 40

MARION — Riley Tschetter and Dominic Sperling powered Freeman/Marion/Freeman Academy to a Friday high school football win. 

Tschetter completed 13-of-16 passes for 285 yards and four touchdown passes, while rushing for 51 yards and another score. Sperling posted 115 yards from scrimmage with four touchdowns, two rushing and two receiving. Tate Sorensen and Christopher Aasen both hauled in touchdown receptions. Karter Weber had a kickoff return for a score.

For Gayville-Volin, Spencer Karstens threw for 364 yards and had six touchdown passes. Hunter Wuebben and Wyatt Fairley hauled two touchdown passes. Jordan Wuestewald and Caiden Wherry also caught touchdown passes.

Milbank 32, Groton Area 28

MILBANK — Milbank outlasted Groton Area in Friday high school football action. 

Milbank’s Braylen Bowsher completed 9-for-11 passes for 288 yards and threw four passing touchdowns. Bowsher added a rushing touchdown, seven tackles and interception on defense. The Bulldogs racked up 392 total yards. Esteban Abrego and Emmett Hanson hauled touchdown receptions. Tate Schlueter had nine tackles and a sack. Hanson had six tackles and two sacks. Hanson and Sam Rick both had interceptions on defense. 

Groton Area finished with 304 total yards, including 204 passing yards. 

 

Kimball/White Lake 52, Platte-Geddes 8

KIMBALL — Iden Myers powered Kimball/White Lake to a Friday high school football win. 

Myers rushed 28 times for 291 yards and three touchdowns. Chevy Fees rushed seven times for 33 yards and two touchdowns. Park Sinclair was 2-6 for 43 yards and Keaton Christensen was 2-6 for 44 yards and one touchdown. 

The WiLdKats racked up over 450 yards of total offense. Cooper Leiferman finished with six tackles, followed by Dayn Goodman with five. Myers and Fees each recorded interceptions and Graden Holan recorded a safety.

 

Sioux Valley 56, Clark/Willow Lake 36

CLARK — Class 11B No. 3 Sioux Valley used a 23-point second quarter explosion to power past Clark/Willow Lake in Friday high school football action. 

Sioux Valley’s Brock Christopherson rushed for 154 yards on 15 carries. Wyatt Hardt added 51 yards rushing on 12 carries and scored two touchdowns. Maverick Nelson had 39 yards rushing and scored two touchdowns. Nelson added a 91-yard kickoff return for a score. Mitchell Guthmiller scored two rushing scores. Hardt had seven tackles and blocked a punt. Brady Haalan had an interception. 

For CWL, Emerson Larson completed 7-for-12 passes for 219 yards and threw three passing touchdowns. He added a rushing score and 63 yards rushing. Lincoln Reidburn hauled in two catches for 101 yards and caught two touchdowns. Elliot Bratland hauled in a touchdown reception and Griffin Musser had a rushing touchdown. Larson had eight tackles and an interception.


Leola-Frederick Area 60, North Central 18

EUREKA — Leola-Frederick Area piled up 372 total yards en route to a Friday high school football win. 

Leola-Frederick Area’s Gavin Nickelson completed 6-for-9 passes for 212 yards and threw two passing touchdowns. Nickelson rushed for 49 yards and scored three touchdowns. Nickelson hauled in a touchdown reception and had an 85-yard kickoff return for a score. Austin Mantei had a rushing touchdown. Ethan Petrich added an interception. 

For North Central, Kobe Wherry rushed for 100 yards on 19 carries and scored two touchdowns. Jade Jacobs added 135 yards rushing and a rushing score. Donovan Nelson had five tackles and an interception. 

 

Elkton-Lake Benton 42, De Smet 0

DE SMET — Class 9AA No. 3 Elkton-Lake Benton blanked De Smet in Friday high school football action. 

Tanner Stein powered the Elks with 146 rushing yards on five carries and scored four touchdowns. Stein added 42 yards receiving and a touchdown reception. Stein posted 11 tackles on defense. Blake DeVries completed 7-for-9 passes for 80 yards and threw a touchdown. DeVries added 129 yards rushing on nine carries and scored a touchdown. DeVries added 10 tackles on defense. Tanner Drietz posted an interception on defense. 

For De Smet, Gannon Gilligan rushed for 38 yards on 11 carries. Slayten Wilkinson added 27 yards rushing and Ganon Henrich had 26 yards rushing. Henrich hauled in 34 yards receiving. Brody Halverson had 34 passing yards.

 

Woonsocket/Wessington Springs/Sanborn Central 50, Webster Area 12

WESSINGTON SPRINGS — Holden Havlik powered Class 11B Woonsocket/Wessington Springs/Sanborn Central to a Friday high school football win. 

Havlik completed 12-of-28 passes for 265 yards and threw two passing touchdowns. He added 66 rushing yards and a score. Bryce Larson threw for a passing touchdown. Ryder Michalek caught five catches for 132 yards and two touchdown passes. Colby Flowers hauled in three catches for 74 yards and caught a touchdown. Payton Uecker had 36 rushing yards and a touchdown, while Tyson Eddy had 62 rushing yards and a touchdown.

On defense, Flowers and Havlik each had interceptions. Luke Larson and Nathan Gaikowski had six tackles apiece. Eddy had three tackles, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.

Webster Area stats were unavailable.


Madison 42, Custer 16

CUSTER — Madison built up a 42-point first-half lead to defeat Custer during Friday’s high school football action.

Jordan Pedersen led the Madison rushing attack with 92 yards and a touchdown on seven carries, Caleb Hodges added 39 yards and a score on six carries, Cohen Hahn completed nine of 11 pass attempts for 186 yards and two passing touchdowns, while Myles Schneider reeled in two passes for 63 yards and one touchdown.

Custer’s Roland Sedlacek carried the ball eight times for 101 yards, while completing eight of 24 pass attempts for 131 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Daniel Immormino rushed 13 times for 97 yards and a touchdown, while Brady Virtue caught five passes for 105 yards and a score in the loss.


Burke 64, Sunshine Bible Academy 38

MILLER — Burke’s Kaleb Schonebaum totaled five rushing touchdowns as Burke outlasted Sunshine Bible Academy during Friday’s football action.

Schonebaum tallied 261 yards on the ground along with five touchdowns on 36 carries, Gentry Bartling totaled 141 yards on 13 carries along with two rushing scores, Moxon Fox had six for 34 yards, while Morgan Hood tallied 33 yards and a score on two attempts rushing.

SBA’s Trey Thieman completed eight of 18 pass attempts for 242 yards and four touchdowns. Jacob Hadden caught four passes for 114 yards and a touchdown, Jimmy Burma had a 74-yard touchdown reception, while Tarrence Mickelson caught three passes for 54 yards and two touchdowns. Mickelson also racked up 36 yards rushing on two attempts. Seth Konechne led the SBA defense with 16 tackles in the loss as well.


Oldham-Ramona/Rutland 24, Irene-Wakonda 14

IRENE — Cooper Merager and Brock Eppe combined for 171 rushing yards as Oldham-Ramona/Rutland knocked off Irene-Wakonda in Friday night football action. 

Merger rushed 16 times for 96 yards and two touchdowns. Eppe rushed 13 times for 75 yards while Brennon Bickett rushed for 11 yards and a touchdown. Boyd Pooler had two interceptions to lead the defense. 

Jens Hansen led Irene-Wakonda rushing for 70 yards and passing for two touchdowns. Cain Healy had two receptions for 36 yards and two receiving touchdowns. 


Dell Rapids 40, Rapid City Christian 24

DELL RAPIDS — Cole Ruesink and Ryan Stubbe racked over 200 yards on the ground as Class 11A No. 5 Dell Rapids knocked off Rapid City Christian during Friday night football action.

Ruesink carried the ball 20 times for 130 yards and a score, Stubbe added an additional 75 yards and a score on just 10 carries, while Quinn Carr tallied six carries for 39 yards as well. Carr also tallied two sacks on defense for the Quarriers. Cooper Frost completed all five pass attempts for 124 yards and a score, with Drake Eastman reeling in three catches for 108 yards and one receiving touchdown.

RCC’s Braylon Marshall had 14 yards on the ground in seven rush attempts, while catching two passes for 33 yards in the loss. Malachai Maseman led all Comets in tackles with five.


Tea Area 41, Huron 14

HURON — Tea Area racked up 274 yards on the ground as the Titans defeated Huron in high school football action Friday.

Brenner Konrad tallied 133 yards on 11 carries, scoring one touchdown, Cole McKinney added 90 yards and two scores on 11 carries, Sam Werdel had eight carries for 65 yards and a score, while Carter Brown produced 19 yards on five rushes in the victory. Konrad completed eight passes for 89 yards, while McKinney added a passing touchdown on his lone attempt to Riley Svanda.

Huron’s Colton McNeil completed five passes for 93 yards and a touchdown. Anderson Porisch caught two passes for 73 yards and a touchdown, while Jonathan Peterson added 17 yards on six carries in the loss.


Aberdeen Roncalli 42, Mobridge-Pollock 0

ABERDEEN — Aberdeen Roncalli blanked Mobridge-Pollock in Friday high school football action. 

Aiden Fisher powered the Cavaliers with three rushing touchdowns. Brody Weinmeister added a 24-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown and Brooks Jett scored on a 58-yard interception return. Ryder Shaving added a one-yard rushing touchdown.
