Parkston 3, Sanborn Central/Woonsocket 1

FORESTBURG — Parkston topped Sanborn Central/Woonsocket in a Thursday high school volleyball match. The set scores were 25-20, 20-25, 25-8 and 25-21.


Colman-Egan 3, Elkton-Lake Benton 1

ELKTON — Colman-Egan picked up a road win over Elkton-Lake Benton in Thursday night volleyball action. Set scores were 12-25, 25-16, 25-17 and 25-11. 

Daniela Lee powered Colman-Egan with 11 kills, four aces and 22 digs. Kaylee Voelker finished with 18 assists, 15 digs, three blocks and an ace while Lanie Mousel had 20 assists, five kills and an ace. 

Andrea Renkly led Elkton-Lake Benton with eight kills and two aces. Van Verickson had 20 assists, four block-assists and nine digs. Ella Crofuutt led with 19 digs and also had an ace serve. 


Canistota 3, Dell Rapids St. Mary 2

CANISTOTA — Canistota held off Dell Rapids St. Mary in a five-set thriller to earn a win in high school volleyball action Thursday. Set scores were 25-20, 25-22, 21-25, 25-12 and 15-13. 

Canistota was fueled by Sierra McGregor who controlled the net with 18 kills and three blocks. Bailey Spicer led with 18 set assists while Kayla Pappendick had 12 digs and six aces. Natalie Hofer had four kills, four aces, 14 set assists and seven digs.

Stats were not reported for Dell Rapids St. Mary. 


Warner 3, Northwestern 0

WARNER — Class B No. 1 Warner swept Class B No. 3 Northwestern in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-13, 25-11 and 25-15.

Northwestern’s Ashley Haven finished with nine kills and one block. Payton Grandpre recorded three kills, one ace and 11 digs. Nicolette Nickeson recorded three kills. Ella Boekelheide added 13 assists, while Taylor Vetter posted 10 digs. Tara Blachford logged two aces. 

Warner stats were not reported. 


Mobridge-Pollock 3, Leola/Frederick Area 0

MOBRIDGE — Mobridge-Pollock swept Leola/Frederick Area in straight sets in Thursday high school volleyball play. The set scores were 25-17, 25-14 and 25-13.

Mobridge-Pollock’s Charley Henderson recorded 12 kills, four blocks and one ace. Raelyn Aberle posted eight kills and nine digs. Ryli Thompson logged five kills and seven digs. Grace Overland finished with four kills and three blocks. Katy Kemnitz logged 22 assists and five aces. Tegan Konold recorded four kills and three blocks. Sophia Overland added 11 assists and two aces.

For Leola/Frederick Area, Jillian Ellwein logged nine kills and two blocks. Laura Sumption tallied four kills and four blocks. Jocelynn Ellwein dished out 13 assists. Sofia Losure posted 11 digs and Morgan Sumption added six digs. 


Wessington Springs 3, Howard 1

HOWARD — Wessington Springs defeated Howard in a four-set high school volleyball match on Thursday. The set scores were 26-24, 25-21, 25-15 and 25-15.

Wessington Springs’ Avery Orth posted 19 kills, four blocks and four aces. Carissa Scheel logged nine kills and one ace. Alyssa Grohs posted 32 assists and 24 digs. Raylee Fagerhaug added 26 digs. 

Howard’s Abby Aslesen finished with nine kills, while Tana Hoyer recorded eight kills, four blocks and two aces. Liz Albrecht posted eight assists. Dakota Spader added 18 digs, while Taryn Mentele logged 18 digs. Anna Becker had 17 digs. Becca Feldhaus had two aces and Dakota Spader added two blocks. 


Ethan 3, Menno 0

MENNO — Ethan swept Menno in straight sets in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-21, 25-16 and 25-12.

Ethan’s Ava Lingemann recorded 22 kills and 16 digs. Rachel Klock added six kills and four digs. Claire Mellengaard posted 25 digs, four kills and two aces. Rachel Weisz had 20 digs. Makenna Termeer posted six digs, four kills and two aces. 

For Menno, Ashton Massey recorded seven kills and two digs. Lexie McNinch posted four kills and three digs. Kaelie Derby and Ellyana Ulmer had three kills apiece. Ulmer added 14 digs. Joslynn Fischer finished with 16 assists and 16 digs. Maggie Miller had nine digs. Haylee Hall added four assists and four digs. 


Faulkton 3, Potter County 0

FAULKTON — Faulkton Area earned a straight sweep of Potter County in high school volleyball action Thursday. Set scores were 25-10, 25-16 and 25-13. 

Leading Faulkton Area to the win was Carley Colton who finished with five aces, nine kills and nine digs. Micah Martinmaas hit on 44-of-44 sets and finished with 15 assists. Kelli Stoecker added three aces and led the squad with 12 kills. 

Potter County leaders were Zoe Meineke with three aces and nine digs, Finlee Heien with six assists and Kayden Cronin with one block. 


O’Neill St. Mary’s, Neb., 3, Burke 0

BURKE — Class B No. 4 Burke suffered their first loss of the season to an O’Neill, St. Mary’s (Nebraska) in high school volleyball action Thursday. Set scores were 25-20, 25-16 and 25-19.

Leading Burke were Elle Johnson and Kailee Frank who combined for 15 kills. Piper Hanson, Ava Sargent and Emmie Hausmann each had an ace while Paige Bull contributed two blocks. Sargent and Bridget Eliason combined for 21 assists for Burke. 


Hamlin 3, Milbank 0

HAYTI — Hamlin swept Milbank in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-20, 25-18 and 25-11.

Hamlin’s Addie Neuendorf posted 15 kills, nine assists, four aces and one block. Emily Everson recorded four kills and one block. Marissa Bawdon logged four kills, 16 assists and seven aces. Grace Opdahl and Jayci Trowbridge had 10 and eight digs, respectively. Cadence Moeller had three aces.

For Milbank, Rachel Schulte posted nine kills, 19 digs and five assists. Skyler Skoog and Claire Snaza had three kills apiece. Addisyn Krause recorded 10 assists. Ella Sandvig had 19 digs, while Siera Wenzel added 21 digs and one ace. 


Sioux Falls Christian 3, West Central 0

HARTFORD — Class A No. 1 Sioux Falls Christian swept West Central in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-12, 25-10 and 25-11.

West Central’s Marissa Dobbs recorded eight kills, while Addison Meadors posted two kills. Jocelyn Nilson and Landry Heath had 19 and eight digs, respectively. Ellie Lienhard had nine assists, while Maddy Ingalls posted two blocks. 

Sioux Falls Christian stats were not reported. 


Dell Rapids 3, Tea Area 0

TEA — Class A No. 4 Dell Rapids swept Tea Area in a Thursday high school volleyball match. The set scores were 25-19, 25-15 and 25-22.

Dell Rapids’ Lauryn Kloth recorded 14 kills and three blocks, while Madelynn Henry put down 15 kills and had six digs. Kylee Fiddelke added five kills and eight digs. Sophi Randall added two blocks, 29 assists and 19 digs. Alaina Wolff recorded 10 digs. 

Tea Area stats were not reported. 


Madison 3, Lennox 0

LENNOX — Madison swept Lennox in a Thursday high school volleyball match. The set scores were 25-19, 25-16 and 25-17. 

Madison’s Audrey Nelson recorded 20 points, 10 digs and nine blocks. Amanda Vacanti posted four kills. Callie McDermott posted four aces and 15 digs, while Keara Wagner added three aces. Karley Theede had 26 assists. Ella Peterreins posted two blocks. 

Lennox stats were not reported. 


Ipswich 3, Sunshine Bible Academy 0

IPSWICH — Ipswich swept Sunshine Bible Academy in straight sets in high school volleyball action Thursday. Set scores were 25-21, 25-15 and 25-19. 

For Ipswich Marley Guthmiller had an active night going 14-of-15 on serves with three aces and finishing with 10 kills. Reaghan Bowers hit 18-of-19 serves with two aces while also leading the team with 14 assists. Briana Geditz and Charli Rowden both had nine digs to lead Ipswich. 

For Sunshine Bible Academy, Addison Pearl finished with an ace while Natasha Appel and Sadie Konechne each had two kills. 


Great Plains Lutheran 3, Wilmot 1

WILMOT — Great Plains Lutheran earned a four-set win over Wilmot to pick up a win in high school volleyball action Thursday. Set scores were 25-17, 25-14, 21-25 and 25-13.

Addison Heinje had a big night for Wilmot with 12 kills, seven blocks and two aces. Mya Heinje led with 27 assists while Stacia Redday added 12 assists. Jada Cameron notched four blocks and two digs 

Great Plains Lutheran stats were not reported. 


Chester 3, Sioux Valley 0

VOLGA –- Class B No. 2 Chester earned a straight set sweep of Sioux Valley in high school volleyball action Thursday at the Big East Conference tournament. Set scores were 25-11, 25-11 and 25-13. 

Leading the way for Chester was Jacy Wolf who finished with 12 kills, an ace and nine digs. Lily Vanhal added nine kills, four aces and 23 assists. Addison Bates and Emmerson Eppard each had eight kills while Emery Larson led with 16 digs.

Sioux Valley’s Kaedyn Sapp recorded nine kills and eight digs. Sunny Hesby and Machaela Gerasch posted seven assists apiece. Caitlin Russell recorded seven digs. Adison Renkly added three kills. 


Sioux Valley 3, McCook Central/Montrose 0

VOLGA — Sioux Valley swept McCook Central/Montrose in straight sets in Thursday high school volleyball action at the Big East Conference tournament. The set scores were 25-18, 25-20 and 25-16.

Sioux Valley’s Kaedyn Sapp recorded 11 kills and 37 digs. Adison Renkly posted 11 kills and four digs. Allie Hofer added eight kills and seven digs. Keyra Kruse posted seven kills and three digs. Machaela Gerasch posted 20 assists and Sunny Hesby posted 13 assists. Talya Vincent posted nine digs. 

For MCM, Abby Wagner finished with six kills and four digs. Lexie Lunders posted 18 digs. Maddy Lauck finished with 20 assists and nine digs. 


Sioux Falls Jefferson 3, Sioux Falls Lincoln 1

SIOUX FALLS — Class AA No. 3 Sioux Falls Jefferson picked up a four-set high school volleyball win over Sioux Falls Lincoln on Thursday. The set scores were 25-17, 25-20, 21-25 and 25-20.

Sioux Falls Jefferson’s Emory Brosnahan finished with 16 kills and seven aces. Lizzy Spah posted nine kills and Mya Hejl logged eight kills. Cora Hokenstad added 24 digs and five aces. Presly Pastian dished out 24 assists, while Ella Kvernmo added 17 digs and four aces. Averi Schmitt logged 14 digs. 

Sioux Falls Lincoln stats were not reported.
