Hanson 8, Parkston 6

ALEXANDRIA — Jackson Jarding’s fumble return for a touchdown propelled Class 9AA No. 5 Hanson to a win over Class 9AA No. 4 Parkston on Friday. 

Jarding’s fumble return came on the final play of the second quarter and the successful two-point conversion broke the 6-6 tie. 

Hanson’s Brock Tuttle finished with 69 rushing yards on 12 carries, while Hadley Wallace logged 66 rushing yards on 11 carries. Jarding added 36 rushing yards. Tuttle logged 9.5 tackles and Sutton DeWald had an interception. 

Parkston’s Kaleb Weber threw for 125 yards and threw a touchdown to Kolter Kramer. Brayden Jervik added 85 rushing yards on 14 carries, while he added 66 receiving yards. 


Tea Area 44, O’Gorman 41

TEA — Class 11AA No. 2 Tea Area scored with 2:06 left and held off Class 11AAA No. 2 O’Gorman for a high school football win on Friday.

Tea Area’s Blake Thompson rushed for 154 yards on nine carries and scored two touchdowns, while Chase Van Tol rushed for 116 yards and one touchdown. Van Tol also passed for 80 yards and one score. Maddix Slykhuis had one passing and one rushing touchdown. Nathan Babb and Ethan McNelly each had one receiving touchdown. Jackson Smythe tallied nine tackles, while Van Tol and Jessen Wiebenga added eight tackles apiece.

O’Gorman’s Bennett Dannenbring passed for 468 yards and five touchdowns, while Maverick Jones rushed for 107 yards and one touchdown. Ryland Satter caught five passes for 204 yards and two touchdowns, while Sullivan Schlimgen recorded 109 yards receiving and one touchdown. Jack Hove had 68 yards receiving and one touchdown, while Peyton Hage added 54 receiving yards and one touchdown.


West Central 28, Madison 25

MADISON — Class 11A No. 1 West Central scored with 1:15 left to outlast Class 11A No. 5 Madison in a high school football game on Friday.

WC’s Justin Zirpel passed for 182 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 111 yards and two more touchdowns. Deuce Sherard and Mason Berens each had one touchdown reception.

Madison’s Ben Brooks rushed for 101 yards and one touchdown while passing for 83 yards and one score. Shane Veenhof tallied 61 yards receiving and one touchdown while also adding an interception for a touchdown. Bruce Galde added one touchdown run.


Colome 34, Burke 28

BURKE — Kaden Pechota’s 21-yard touchdown reception from Eli Vobr with nine seconds left propelled Colome past Burke in Friday high school football action. Colome recorded 441 total yards, including 314 rushing yards. 

Vobr completed 9 of 16 passes for 127 yards and two passing touchdowns. Kash Heath added 155 rushing yards on 20 carries and scored two touchdowns. Vobr rushed for 75 yards on 15 carries, while Pechota added 62 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown. Alec Thieman had 69 receiving yards, while Pechota added 52 receiving yards and two touchdown receptions. Pechota logged seven tackles on defense. Vobr and Lane Leighton had interceptions on defense. 

Burke finished with 297 total yards, including 212 through the air. Reed Benter threw for 212 yards and two passing touchdowns. Sawyer Tietgen rushed for 84 yards on 15 carries and one touchdown. Benter also had a rushing touchdown. Gentry Bartling hauled in 72 receiving yards and caught a touchdown reception. Tietgen also caught a touchdown reception. 


Winner 22, Beresford 0

WINNER — Class 11B No. 1 Winner scored two second-half touchdowns to secure a Friday high school football win over Class 11A No. 4 Beresford.

The Warriors recorded 284 total yards, including 276 rushing yards on 41 carries. Aiden Barfuss logged 144 rushing yards on 14 carries and two rushing scores. Riley Orel added 67 rushing yards and Blake Volmer had a rushing touchdown. Jack Kruger posted 5.5 tackles on defense and Ethan Bartels had an interception. 

Beresford finished with 95 total yards. Tate VanOtterloo threw for 38 yards, while Peyton Fridrich had 64 rushing yards. Gavel Valder recorded 21 receiving yards. Zach Boden had eight tackles on defense.  


Herreid/Selby Area 72, Newell 0

HERREID — Brenden Begeman recorded five total touchdowns as Class 9B No. 1 Herreid/Selby Area cruised past Newell in a high school football game on Friday.

HSA’s Begeman rushed for 191 yards and three touchdowns while adding 25 yards receiving and one touchdown. Begeman also recorded an interception return for a touchdown. Tray Hettick passed for 91 yards and three touchdowns. Cole Zabel had two touchdown receptions, while Trevor Gill added one touchdown reception. Mason Vetter added one touchdown run.

Newell stats were not reported.


Canistota 46, Florence/Henry 0

FLORENCE — Class 9A No. 4 Canistota blanked Florence/Henry in Friday high school football action. The Hawks finished with 405 total yards, including 259 rushing yards on 41 carries.

Tye Merrill finished with 144 rushing yards on 14 carries and scored two touchdowns. Tage Ortman passed for 131 yards and two touchdowns, while he rushed for 41 yards and another score. Joseph Bond scored a rushing touchdown, while Noah Kleinsasser had 30 rushing yards. Cayden Scott and Bond hauled in touchdown receptions. Defensively, Kleinsasser had six tackles and an interception. 

Florence/Henry’s Travis Goodall rushed for six yards and Teagan Sumner had 12 tackles. Mehki Keller recorded an interception. 


Harding County/Bison 54, Lemmon/McIntosh 6

BUFFALO — Harding County/Bison tallied 379 total yards and pulled away from Lemmon/McIntosh for a high school football win on Friday.

HC/B’s Kelby Hett passed for 199 yards and four touchdowns. Rylee Veal rushed for 92 yards and two touchdowns, while Cade Costello and Shawn Glines each had rushing touchdowns. Braden Routier tallied 75 yards receiving and two touchdowns, while Gage Gilbert recorded 65 yards receiving and one touchdown. Brennan Glines added a receiving touchdown. Routier also had one interception on defense.

L/M’s Sawyer Thompson passed for 72 yards and added one rushing touchdown. Lemmon/McIntosh was held to 76 total yards. 


Platte-Geddes 32, Kimball/White Lake 0

KIMBALL — Platte-Geddes recorded 288 total yards and blanked Kimball/White Lake in Friday high school football action. The Black Panthers finished with 211 passing yards. 

Dawson Hoffman threw for 211 yards and four passing touchdowns. Aiden Bultje hauled in 88 receiving yards and two touchdown receptions. Parker Bailey and Joey Foxley added touchdown receptions. Jye Bailey rushed for a team-high 41 yards. Lee Reiser had eight tackles, while Foxley had three interceptions on defense. Parker Bailey and Riley Timmerman each had interceptions. 

Kimball/White Lake finished with 197 total yards, including 150 rushing yards. Iden Myers rushed for 131 yards on 25 carries, while Park Sinclair had 28 passing yards. Carter Lenz had 38 receiving yards and 4.5 tackles on defense. Nathan Mohnen had an interception. 


Flandreau 28, Baltic 12

FLANDREAU — Flandreau tallied 310 total yards as the Fliers pulled away from Baltic for a high school football win on Friday.

Flandreau’s Paul Parsley passed for 167 yards and three touchdowns, while Ethan Hoffman rushed for 91 yards and added 77 receiving yards and one touchdown. Kolby Peters had 52 yards receiving and two touchdowns, while Lane Johanson added 59 yards rushing and one score. Hoffman and Ben Ballard led the defense with nine tackles apiece.

Baltic’s Tate Feucht passed for 117 yards and one touchdown. Jack Erickson had 90 yards receiving and one touchdown, while Isaac Weeman added a rushing touchdown.


Wall 50, Kadoka Area 0

KADOKA — Class 9AA No. 2 Wall recorded 398 total yards and blanked Kadoka Area in Friday high school football action. The Eagles threw for 220 yards and rushed for 178 yards. 

Burk Blasius completed 8 of 11 passes for 220 yards and threw two touchdown passes. Cedar Amiotte rushed for 90 yards on eight carries and scored two rushing touchdowns. Mason Heath and William Volmer both scored rushing touchdowns. Rylan McDonnell hauled in three catches for 107 yards and two touchdown receptions. Blasius finished with five tackles and Amiotte had an interception. 

Kadoka Area finished with 52 total yards. Garrett Hermann finished with 39 passing yards, while Tyus Williams had 11 rushing yards. Jonathon MacFeat added 26 receiving yards. Gabriel Fauske had four tackles, while Williams had an interception on defense. 


Bridgewater-Emery/Ethan 20, Parker 2

PARKER — Class 11B No. 2 Bridgewater-Emery/Ethan pulled away from Parker for a high school football win on Friday.

BEE’s Macklen Weber passed for 46 yards and one touchdown while rushing for 69 yards. Riley Endres scored two rushing touchdowns, while Sutton Arend added 38 yards receiving and one touchdown.

Parker’s Ray Travnicek rushed for 40 yards and passed for 27 yards. Parker was held to 94 total yards.


De Smet 58, Oldham-Ramona/Rutland 0

DE SMET — Class 9B No. 3 De Smet blanked Oldham-Ramona/Rutland in Friday high school football action. 

De Smet’s Kadyn Fast finished with 52 rushing yards and scored two rushing touchdowns. Ganon Henrich, Gannon Gilligan and Brody Halvorson added rushing touchdowns. Britt Carlson threw a touchdown reception to Gruenhagen. Trace Van Regenmorter returned two punt returns for touchdowns. R.J. Cleveland added 45 rushing yards. 

Defensively, Dylan Zell had eight tackles and Noah Harrison had two sacks. 

 

Elkton-Lake Benton 44, Deubrook Area 20

WHITE — Ryan Krog accounted for five total touchdowns to power Elkton-Lake Benton to a Friday high school football win. 

Krog completed 9 of 13 passes for 134 yards and two passing touchdowns, while he rushed for 129 yards on 16 carries and scored three more scores. Riddick Westley added 126 rushing yards on 13 carries, while Blake DeVries had 48 rushing yards and a touchdown. Tanner Stein hauled in 51 receiving yards and touchdown reception, while Carson Griffith had 41 receiving yards and a touchdown reception. DeVries had 10 tackles and Griffith had three sacks. 

Deubrook Area’s Colin Bauman completed 14 of 25 passes for 198 yards and three passing touchdowns. Jacob Jorenby caught six passes for 127 yards and two receiving touchdowns. Gavin Landmark added 41 receiving yards and Devon Landmark had a touchdown reception. Treven Grimsrud had 24 rushing yards.


Avon 28, Gayville-Volin 0

GAYVILLE — Class 9B No. 4 Avon pitched a shutout against Gayville-Volin on Friday. The Pirates racked up 267 total yards, including 253 rushing yards. 

Avon’s Noah Watchorn rushed for 86 yards on 13 carries and scored a touchdown. Jaden Stahl added 85 rushing yards and a touchdown. Cody Soukup and Landon Thury scored rushing touchdowns. Cade Faulkner threw for 14 yards. Defensively, Terran Talsma and Randall Powers had four tackles apiece. 

Gayville-Volin recorded 157 total yards, including 88 passing yards. Spencer Karstens threw for 88 yards, while Cade Gunderson rushed for 57 yards on 15 carries. Ben Rumsey hauled in three receptions for 71 yards. Karstens had 7.5 tackles on defense. 

 

McCook Central/Montrose 40, Woonsocket/Wessington Springs/Sanborn Central 0

FORESTBURG — McCook Central/Montrose pitched a shutout in Friday high school football action. 

Jackson Remmers scored four rushing touchdowns, while Jackson Grady hauled in a touchdown reception from Boston Katzer. Carter Randall scored on a fumble recovery in the end zone for MCM. Randall and Mason Sabers each had interceptions. 


Bon Homme 20, Viborg-Hurley 0

VIBORG — Bon Homme blanked Viborg-Hurley in Friday high school football action. 

Riley Rothschadl led the Cavaliers with 99 rushing yards on 18 carries and scored two rushing touchdowns, while he threw for 62 passing yards and another touchdown. Landon Bares hauled in a touchdown reception and had 62 receiving yards. Jackson Caba had nine tackles and a sack on defense. 

Viborg-Hurley’s Luke Campbell recorded 50 rushing yards on 10 carries. Chance Schoellerman had seven tackles and a sack. 


Gregory 50, Bennett County

MARTIN — Class 9A No. 1 Gregory recorded a shutout win over Bennett County in Friday high school football action. 

Rylan Peck led the Gorillas with two touchdown passes and also scored on a punt return. Owen Hansen and Kade Stukel hauled in touchdown receptions. Stukel added a rushing touchdown and finished with 61 rushing yards. Luke Stukel had a rushing touchdown and rushed for 43 yards. Hansen added a rushing touchdown and had an interception on defense. 

 

Lyman 58, White River 8

PRESHO — Class 9A No. 5 Lyman piled up 370 total yards en route to a Friday high school football win over White River. The Raiders rushed for 245 yards and threw for 125 yards. 

Lyman’s Teagan Gourneau completed 7 of 11 passes for 125 yards and three passing touchdowns. Cooper Long hauled in all seven receptions and three touchdown receptions for receiving yards. Tance Wagner rushed for 90 yards on five carries and scored one touchdown. Rory McManus, Kellen Griffith and Gourneau added rushing touchdowns. Aaron Erikson had an interception on defense.

White River finished with 191 total yards. Gavin Folkers threw for 199 yards and one touchdown. Kendrell Cuevas had six catches for 129 yards and one touchdown. 


Castlewood 60, Dell Rapids St. Mary 6

CASTLEWOOD — Class 9A No. 3 Castlewood erupted for 465 total yards en route to a high school football win over Dell Rapids St. Mary on Friday. The Warriors rushed for 243 yards and threw for 222 yards. 

Lane Tvedt passed for 222 yards and three touchdowns, while he rushed for 125 on 12 carries and three more touchdowns. Brody Bass, Paul Everson and Carson Kirwan scored rushing touchdowns. Jackson Schofield hauled in 92 receiving yards and two touchdown receptions. Quincy Thu also caught a touchdown reception. Adam Heyn had 6.5 tackles. 

Dell Rapids St. Mary was held to 96 total yards. C.J. Smith finished with 36 passing yards and one passing touchdown, while he rushed for 55 yards on 10 carries. Camden Gilbert had 15 receiving yards and Gabriel Lindeman had a touchdown reception. Lincoln LeBrun had 6.5 tackles and Smith had an interception. 


Corsica-Stickney 38, Centerville 24

CORSICA — Corsica-Stickney built a 32-18 lead and held off Centerville for a high school football win on Friday. The Jaguars finished with 337 total yards, including 242 rushing yards. 

Shad Bosma scored three rushing touchdowns on 11 carries and 51 rushing yards. Bosma also threw for 95 yards. Waylon Bolle recorded 73 rushing yards on 11 carries and one touchdown. Carter Wright had 62 rushing yards and Tate Talsma logged 56 rushing yards. Bolle hauled in three catches for 68 yards. Wright had a team-high nine tackles. Brock Hinker and Bosma had interceptions on defense. 

Centerville recorded 353 total yards, including 267 passing yards. Cole Edberg threw for 264 yards and three passing touchdowns. Lane Johnson rushed for 40 yards on five carries and scored a touchdown. Austin Bohlmann rushed for 110 yards on seven carries and scored a touchdown. Noah Schoenfelder and Alec Austin had rushing touchdowns. Johnson racked up 14 tackles, while Edberg had 10 tackles. Bohlmann had an interception on defense. 

 

Aberdeen Roncalli 70, Dakota Hills 0

WILMOT — Aberdeen Roncalli stayed undefeated with a shutout win over Dakota Hills in Friday high school football action. 

Aberdeen Roncalli’s Abe Kretchman finished with three touchdowns, including a 90-yard kickoff return for a score. Maddox May added 90 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Kaden Larson rushed for 77 yards and two touchdowns, while Keegan Stewart scored on a blocked punt return.

 

Deuel 30, Webster Area 6

WEBSTER — Deuel recorded four interceptions as part of a strong defensive effort to stop Webster Area in Friday high school football action.

Braydon Simon logged three interceptions and returned one for a touchdown. Carver Nothem added an interception. Trey Maaland threw touchdown passes to Owen Quail and Gabe Sather. Gavin Benck scored on a fumble return. Ronnie Begalka recorded eight tackles. 

Webster Area’s Carson Mount scored on a 79-yard touchdown run.


Groton Area 20, Clark/Willow Lake 14

CLARK — Groton Area’s Andrew Marzahn caught a 25-yard touchdown reception from Lane Tietz in the fourth quarter to secure a win over Clark/Willow Lake on Friday.

Tietz completed 11 of 18 passes for 118 yards and also threw a touchdown pass to Teylor Diegel. Korbin Kuecker added a rushing touchdown. Diegel and Ryder Johnson both intercepted passes. 

CWL’s Trey Huber and Mitch Larson had rushing touchdowns. Huber rushed for 88 yards, while Griffin Musser intercepted a pass. 


Vermillion 22, Milbank 16

VERMILLION — Ty Hertz rushed for 155 yards and two rushing touchdowns in Vermillion’s high school football win over Milbank on Friday. 

Zoan Robinson added a touchdown reception for Vermillion, which led 16-0 at halftime. 

Milbank’s Garrett Mertens threw for 171 yards and rushed for 58 yards, while running for two scores. 


Chester Area 50, Arlington 0

CHESTER — Jovi Wolf scored three total touchdowns to power Chester Area to a Friday high school football win over Arlington. 

Wolf rushed for 104 yards and had a rushing touchdown, while he hauled in two touchdown receptions in the win. Chester Area’s Garrett Hansen recorded 10 tackles. 

 

Wagner 14, Tripp-Delmont/Armour/Andes Central/Dakota Christian 7

LAKE ANDES — Wagner edged Tripp-Delmont/Armour/Andes Central/Dakota Christian for a Friday high school football win. Wagner finished with 204 total yards, including 115 passing yards. 

Wagner’s Chris Nelson threw for 115 yards and a passing touchdown. Jhett Breen rushed for 79 yards on 23 carries and his third-quarter touchdown run gave Wagner its seven-point advantage. Glenn Cournoyer finished with 98 receiving yards on four catches and had a touchdown reception. Nelson added six tackles on defense. 

TDAACDC recorded 197 total yards. Mason Reiner recorded 39 passing yards, while Garth Maas had 85 rushing yards on 23 carries and had a rushing touchdown. Maas added 19 receiving yards. Payton Westendorf had eight tackles on defense. 


Estelline/Hendricks 41, Iroquois/Lake Preston 16

LAKE PRESTON — Estelline/Hendricks raced past Iroquois/Lake Preston for a high school football win on Friday.

E/H’s Joseph McAninch rushed for 144 yards and one touchdown, while Mattix Hausman added 94 yards rushing and one score while passing for another score. Braxton Saathoff recorded one rushing and one receiving touchdown.

I/LP’s Josh McMasters had 74 rushing yards and one touchdown, while Jake Larsen recovered a fumble for a touchdown.


Sioux Valley 55, Hill City 18

HILL CITY — Sioux Valley racked up 423 total yards of offense as they defeated Hill City for a high school football win on Friday.

Sioux Valley’s Donovan Rose rushed for 141 yards and three rushing touchdowns, while also adding an 87-yard kick return for a touchdown. Boden Schiller added 103 yards rushing and one touchdown. Lane Liebsch, Hudsyn Ruesink, and Brock Christopherson each had one rushing touchdown. 

Hill City’s Grayson Rahn rushed for 129 yards and one touchdown while also adding 46 yards receiving and one touchdown. David Hubacher had one rushing touchdown, while Devin Buehler threw one touchdown pass. 


Hitchcock-Tulare 67, Waverly-South Shore 0 

WAVERLY — Class 9B No. 2 HItchcock-Tulare piled up 322 total yards and blanked Waverly-South Shore in Friday high school football action. The Patriots finished with 174 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns, while passing for 148 yards and three more scores. 

Erik Salmen led the Patriots with 133 rushing yards on nine carries and two touchdowns. Riley Fliehe added 26 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Carter Binger had a rushing score, while Blaze Binger added 29 rushing yards. 

Carter Binger completed 5 of 9 passes for 129 yards and three touchdown passes. Landon Puffer hauled in five catches for 123 yards and three receiving touchdowns. Puffer also intercepted two passes and returned one for a touchdown. Brendan Nowell and Fliehe both had interceptions on defense. T.J. Salmen recorded four tackles. 

Waverly-South Shore was held to 62 passing yards and 17 rushing yards.


Hamlin 46, Britton-Hecla 0

BRITTON — Class 9AA No. 3 Hamlin logged 380 total yards as they defeated Britton-Hecla in a high school football game on Friday.

Hamlin’s Tyson Stevenson passed for 188 yards and two touchdowns, while Luke Fraser rushed for 110 yards and two scores. Fraser also added 99 yards receiving and two touchdowns. Kadyn Swenson had one rushing touchdown, while Rylan Bawdon added a touchdown reception. Jackson Wadsworth also threw one touchdown pass. Troy Randall, Jr. and Simon Vander Vorst led the defense with eight and seven tackles, respectively. Evan Stormo added an interception.

Britton-Hecla’s BoDell Davidson rushed for 27 yards, while Bryce Hawkinson added 24 yards rushing.


Alcester-Hudson 32, Garretson 17

ALCESTER — Alcester-Hudson built a 24-3 lead and held off Garretson for a high school football win on Friday.

Alcester-Hudson racked up 271 total yards, all on the ground. Mateo Kleinhans rushed for 123 yards on nine carries and scored a rushing touchdown. Jose Lopez posted 104 rushing yards on 16 carries and two scores. Evan Brown added 41 rushing yards. William Hallaway had 5.5 tackles and an interception. Dominic Egdom also had 5.5 tackles. 

Garretson recorded 259 total yards, including 226 rushing yards. Carson Clark rushed for 140 yards on 12 carries and scored a rushing touchdown. Hunter Abraham added 61 rushing yards on 18 carries and one touchdown. Clark also threw for 27 yards, while Ian Buettner had 33 receiving yards. Jaden Richter posted four tackles on defense. 


Ipswich 48, Northwestern 0

IPSWICH — Ipswich raced past Northwestern for a high school football win on Friday.

Ipswich’s Tyler Hettich rushed for 77 and one touchdown and added 100 yards receiving and one score. Ian Beyers threw three touchdown passes and had 356 yards passing. Max Kulesa ahd 80 yards receiving and one touchdown, while Colby Sylte added 79 yards receiving and one score. Lucas Rowland had a touchdown run, while Casey Gedtiz had an interception return for a touchdown. Carter Geditz also had 79 yards receiving and nine tackles on defense.

For Northwestern, Jude Ortmeier rushed for 137 yards on 22 carries, while Trey Bourelle recorded 10 tackles on defense.


Faulkton Area 46, Langford Area 19

FAULKTON — Faulkton Area jumped out to a 38-6 halftime lead en route to a Friday high school football win over Langford Area. The Trojans tallied 374 total yards, including 274 rushing yards. 

Faulkton Area’s Garrett Cramer logged 147 rushing yards on 10 carries and scored two touchdowns. Layne Cotton threw for 100 yards and two passing touchdowns. Tristan Baloun rushed for 98 yards and a rushing score. Roman DiMaria had 56 receiving yards and two touchdown receptions. Cramer and Carter Schulte had 4.5 tackles. DiMaria and Lincoln Dikoff both had interceptions. 

Langford Area racked up 230 total yards. Kassen Keough threw for 133 yards and threw a passing touchdown. Keough added 74 rushing yards and another score. Kalen Godel had 33 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown. Keough had 64 receiving yards and a receiving touchdown. Godel had nine tackles on defense.
