It is still very early in the wrestling season but teams are beginning to take aim on qualifying for the state dual tournament in February.

The latest Dakota Grappler dual rankings have Canton as the top-ranked team in Class B and Sturgis the top-ranked team in Class A. 

As of Jan. 8, according to the South Dakota High School Activities Association website Bon Homme/Avon, in Class B and Sioux Falls O’Gorman, in Class A, sit atop their respective divisions with the highest power-point totals. 

Keep an eye out for the score of Thursday’s dual between Sturgis and Thunder Basin, Wyoming. Sturgis is the No. 1 ranked Class A team in South Dakota and Thunder Basin is the top ranked team in Wyoming.
