The 2023 South Dakota high school football season resumed last week and top performances continued to roll in. 

Here are this week’s top performers across South Dakota for football games on Sept. 14-16.

  • Kimball/White Lake’s Iden Myers rushed for 263 yards and three touchdowns in a 52-8 win over Potter County on Sept. 15. 
  • Lennox’s Boston Katzer had a hand in eight total touchdowns in a 58-7 win over Custer on Sept. 15. Katzer completed 19 of 26 passes for 370 yards and threw seven passing touchdowns. The junior quarterback added 83 yards rushing and another score. 
  • Lennox’s Porter Ihnen hauled in eight catches for 187 yards and caught five touchdown receptions. 
  • Bon Homme’s Landon Schmidt rushed for 153 yards on 22 carries and scored three touchdowns in a 28-22 win over Stanley County on Sept. 15. 

  • Estelline-Hendricks’ Mattix Hausman rushed for 159 yards on 22 carries and passed for two touchdowns in a 14-6 win over Colman-Egan. 
  • Harding County/Bison’s Rylee Veal rushed for 143 yards on eight carries and scored three touchdowns in a 51-0 win over Newell. 
  • Wall’s Burk Blasius accounted for six total touchdowns in a 48-6 win over White River on Sept. 15. Blasius completed 15 of 21 passes for 132 yards and threw three passing touchdowns. Blasius added 177 rushing yards on 12 carries and scored three more scores. 
  • Corsica-Stickney’s Waylon Bolle posted 214 rushing yards on eight carries and scored three touchdowns in a 50-15 win over Burke. He added a receiving touchdown. 
  • Howard’s Taiden Hoyer completed 6 of 9 passes for 127 yards and threw three passing touchdowns, while rushing for 124 yards on eight carries in a 45-18 win over Freeman-Marion-Freeman Academy on Sept. 15. 

  • Waverly-South Shore’s Zach Ries had a hand in seven total touchdowns in a 58-36 win over Florence-Henry. Ries completed 22 of 42 passes for 294 yards and tossed six passing touchdowns, while rushing for another score.
  • Centerville’s Alec Austin completed 18 of 28 passes for 269 yards and threw three passing touchdowns, while rushing for 65 yards and two scores against Gayville-Volin. Austin’s 22-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter lifted the Tornadoes to the win. 
  • Chamberlain’s Cruz Soulek completed 12 of 16 passes for 209 yards and threw three passing touchdowns in a 46-0 win over Belle Fourche. 
  • Sioux Falls Christian’s Lincoln Prins completed 18 of 27 passes for 293 yards and threw two passing touchdowns in a 21-15 win over Madison. 
  • Cole Snyder hauled in eight catches for 179 yards and caught two touchdowns for Sioux Falls Christian. 
  • Hot Springs’ Camron Maciejewski logged 22 carries for 274 rushing yards in a 31-7 win over St. Thomas More on Sept. 16. Maciejewski added eight tackles and a 25-yard pick-six. 
  • West Central’s Caden Alfson passed for three touchdowns in a 41-7 victory over Vermillion. 
  • Dell Rapids’ Mason Stubbe rushed for 94 yards on nine carries and scored three touchdowns in a 48-30 win over Canton on Sept. 15. 
  • Rapid City Christian’s Simon Kieffer scored three total touchdowns in a 25-0 win over Mount Vernon/Plankinton on Sept. 16. Kieffer threw touchdown passes to Malachi Maseman and Wes Schlabach.

  • Sioux Falls Lincoln’s Tate Schafer completed 20 of 28 passes for 231 yards and threw four touchdowns in a 35-20 win over Harrisburg on Sept. 15. 
  • Watertown’s Treyton Himmerich completed 9 of 15 passes for 227 yards and threw four touchdown passes in a 41-27 win over Sioux Falls Washington. 
  • Nathan Briggs caught three catches for 127 yards and had two touchdown receptions for Watertown.
  • Sioux Falls Washington’s Tommy Hoffman accounted for four touchdowns against Watertown. He threw for three touchdowns and ran for another score. 
  • Warner’s Hunter Cramer had a hand in five touchdowns in a 67-16 win over Castlewood. Cramer rushed 10 times for 121 yards and four touchdowns, while he also completed 11 of 14 passes for 225 yards and another score.
  • Deuel’s Trey Maaland logged 362 total yards of offense and three touchdowns in a 24-6 win over Groton Area. Maaland rushed 22 times for 215 yards and two scores, while he also completed six of 15 passes for 157 yards and an 87-yard TD pass to Oliver Fieber.
  • Sioux Valley’s Boden Schiller accounted for three touchdowns in a 42-6 win over Bridgewater-Emery/Ethan on Sept. 15. Schiller rushed for 106 yards on 16 carries and scored rushing touchdowns, while he added a passing touchdown to Hudsyn Ruesink.

  • Hamlin’s Tyson Stevenson accounted for four total touchdowns in a 43-8 win over Leola-Frederick Area. Stevenson threw touchdown passes to Turner Stevenson, Easton Neuendorf and Zac VanMeeteren. Tyson Stevenson also scored a rushing touchdown, while passing for 211 yards and rushing for 62 more yards. 
  • Deubrook Area’s Gavin Landmark rushed for 119 yards and scored three touchdowns in a 50-6 win over Iroquois-Lake Preston.
  • Aberdeen Roncalli’s Zane Backous scored six total touchdowns in a 42-22 victory over Mobridge-Pollock. Backous rushed 17 times for 162 yards and three touchdowns, while also completing five of 11 passes for 100 yards and three touchdowns. 
  • Faulkton Area’s Garrett Cramer scored three rushing touchdowns as the Trojans picked up a 50-0 win over Northwestern. 
  • Ipswich’s Max Kulesa completed 19 of 30 passes for 290 yards and four touchdowns in a 44-20 victory over Herreid/Selby Area.
