Top marks delivered at Friday's Track-O-Rama meet

RAPID CITY — A number of efforts from Friday’s Track-O-Rama meet produced some of South Dakota’s top marks this spring. 

Sturgis’ Aidan Hedderman was a triple winner claiming titles in the 110-meter hurdles (:14.28), 300-meter hurdles (:41.45) and pole vault (14-3).

Bennett County’s Rush O’Neill won the high jump (6-5) and was second in the 110-meter hurdles (:15.39). Both of those marks are tops in Class A so far this season. 

Rapid City Stevens long jumper Mandinko Hawley won the long jump with the best leap in South Dakota this spring (22-08.25). 

Custer’s Kincade Lehman won the triple jump (45-8.25), a jump that is over two feet farther than any other jumper in South Dakota this spring.

Rapid City Stevens’ Cael Meisman finished second in the 200-meter dash (:21.84), the fastest mark in South Dakota this spring. 

In girls action Rapid City Stevens sprinter Ella Bradeen won the 200-meter dash (:25.53), finished second in the 100-meter dash (:12.21) and ran a leg on the Raiders winning 400-meter relay (:50.45).

Spearfish’s Peyton VanDeest finished second in the 1,600-meter run (5:04.43) and second in the 800-meter run (2:21.7). Teammate Anna Hoffman won the 100-meter hurdles (:15.02) for the Spartans. The Spearfish girls also won titles in the 800-meter relay (1:46.54) and 1,600-meter relay (4:13.49)

Bennett County’s Reagan O’Neill won the long jump (18-05.5) and Custer’s Ciana Stiefel cleared (12-0) to win the girls pole vault.
