WEBSTER — Blessed with sprinter speed and cross-country endurance, Tri-State senior Kaleb Foltz ran the fifth fastest 800-meter run in South Dakota history (1:52.24) at the Webster Invitational Friday.
Webster Area’s Matthew Mount was a triple winner for the Bearcats winning the shot put (50-9.5), discus (147-5) and javelin (147-5). Gavin Witt won the 200-meter dash for Webster (:23.52) and Jeron McCreary won the 300-meter hurdles (:43.28)
Frederick Area’s Brayden Sumption won the long jump (19-9), anchored the 1,600-meter relay to a win (3:34.66), anchored the 3,200-meter relay to a second-place finish (9:51.00) and ran a leg on the fourth place sprint medley relay (3:54.20). Gavin Nickelson won the 400-meter dash (:52.31) for Frederick Area.
Aberdeen Roncalli’s Parker Grieben won the 110-meter hurdles (:15.69), ran the 400-meter leg on the winning sprint medley relay (3:39.97) and ran a leg on the third-place 1,600-meter relay (3:39.51).
Sisseton freshman Ryder Graff won the 1,600-meter run (5:03.43) and the 400-meter relay posted the winning time (:46.90).
Wilmot’s Kolby Haubris won the high jump (5-11) and ran a leg on the winning 800-meter relay (1:37.24).
In girls action, Groton Area’s McKenna Tietz won the 200-meter dash (:28.54), the 300-meter hurdles (:50.25), ran a leg on the winning 400-meter relay (:53.47), and finished third in the 100-meter hurdles (:17.80). Taryn Traphagen won the 400-meter dash (:1:02.93) and ran a leg on the first place 3,200-meter relay (10:11.56). The Tigers also won the 800-meter relay (1:52.93).
Langford Area’s Paytyn Marlow won the 100-meter dash (:13.11), finished second in the 200-meter dash (:28.87) and ran the opening leg on the second-place 400-meter relay (:54.59).
Sisseton’s Chloe Langager won the shot put (37-3) and finished second in the discus (104-6). Sidney Johnson won the javelin (87-3) and Emmalee Nielsen the triple jump (32-4).
Webster Area’s Chloe Mammenga won the long jump (15-9.75), third in the triple jump (32-0.75) and was fourth in the 200-meter dash (:29.46).
