The boys DWU/Culver’s Classic is Saturday, Feb. 14 at the Corn Palace.

The nine-game classic starts with Philip vs. McCook Central/Montrose, while Howard plays Parkston at 9 p.m. in the nightcap.

All Games will be streamed exclusively online as Pay-Per-View via LiveTicket.tv at dwu.liveticket.tv. Viewers can purchase each game for $9.99 apiece.

Here’s a look at five games to watch:

Sioux Falls Christian vs. Pine Ridge

The state’s leading scorer will face off against Class A No. 1 Sioux Falls Christian at 3 p.m.

Pine Ridge’s Marvin Richard III is averaging 35.6 points per game, including seven games with 40 or more points this season. On Feb. 8, Richard III erupted for 62 points against Lakota Tech, breaking the Class A boys basketball scoring record for most points in a game.

The previous record was held by West Central’s Josh Mueller and Mahpiya Luta’s Alejandro Rama, with 60 points apiece.

Richard III followed it up with a 43-point performance against Lennox on Feb. 11.

The Chargers will look to slow down the high-scoring Richard III, who has scored 642 points this season.

Sioux Falls Christian is powered by 6-foot-10 forward Griffen Goodbary, a future South Dakota State University Jackrabbit. The Chargers also feature Cole Snyder (5-11), Cooper Strande (6-1), Britton Mulder (6-2), Jude vanDonkersgoed (6-3), Carson Nickles (6-2), Brant Wassenaar (6-4) and Ryan Dieleman (6-8).

Hamlin vs St. Thomas More

Two Class A powers will clash at 4:30 p.m.

Class A No. 2 Hamlin and St. Thomas More, which is honorable mention in the latest Class A poll, are among a host of teams jockeying for postseason positioning.

The Chargers are currently No. 4 in the Class A standings with 45.062 points, while the Cavaliers are No. 6 with 44.176 points.

Hamlin is paced by all-state guard Easton Neuendorf (5-11), along with starters Jackson Wadsworth (6-3), Zac VanMeeteren (6-6), Evan Stormo (6-3) and Dawson Noem (6-4).

St. Thomas More counters with starters Wyatt Gylten (6-3), Max Speed (6-4), Broeden Sales (6-4), Ashton Paulsen (6-1) and Baron Slusarski (6-3).

Viborg-Hurley vs Rapid City Christian

Viborg-Hurley and Rapid City Christian’s first-ever meeting on the basketball court will take place at 6 p.m.

The first-ever contest between the Cougars and Comets will have plenty at stake, too. The teams are in different classes, with Viborg-Hurley ranked No. 1 in Class B and Rapid City Christian ranked No. 3 in Class A.

But value seed points are on the line. Rapid City Christian is currently No. 2 in the Class A standings, while Viborg-Hurley is No. 2 in the Class B standings.

On the court, the matchup is littered with all-staters. The Comets are powered by three all-staters in Benson Kieffer, Simon Kieffer and Julius Frog. Benson Kieffer and Frog recently scored their 1,000th career points in the same game on Feb. 11.

The Cougars are powered by 6-foot-8 all-state center Nick Hanson. Viborg-Hurley is also paced by Jake Austin, Nolan Kolthoff, Brady Schroedermeier, Owen Niederbaumer and Braydyn Morrison.

Dell Rapids St. Mary vs Freeman

Dell Rapids St. Mary and Freeman will play at the Corn Palace, and in an ironic twist, the programs played for the 1975 Class B boys basketball championship. Fifty years ago, Freeman outlasted Dell Rapids St. Mary 61-55 for the state state championship.

Fast forward to 2025, and it’s a key game for the current teams. The Cardinals are currently ranked third in the South Dakota Prep Media Basketball Poll, and third in the Class B seed points standings.

Dell Rapids St. Mary is headlined by all-state guard Trevon Beckman and Maverick LeBrun, a pair of 1,000-point scorers. Beckman will play college basketball at Doane University and LeBrun, a 6-foot-6 forward, will play college football at South Dakota State University.

Freeman, meanwhile, is No. 14 in a crowded bottom half of the Class B seeds points standings. The up-and-coming Flyers are led by juniors Tate Sorensen and Tate Miller and freshman David Walter.

Howard vs Parkston

Two teams in the middle of the Class B pack will be Saturday’s nightcap.

Howard and Parkston are currently No. 6 and No. 7, respectively, in the Class B seeds points standings.

The Class B No. 5 Tigers are led by all-stater Luke Koepsell, a 6-foot-4 senior center. The Tigers are also led by starters Kolt Becker, Lucas Feldhaus, Austin Severson and Carson Hinker.

Parkston, which dropped down from Class A this season, counters with Brycen Bruening, James Deckert and Mason Jervik.
