Wall girls, Philip boys win Region 7B track titles

KADOKA — The Wall girls won the Region 7B team title on Thursday.

Wall’s Rhea Tucker won the 200-meter dash (:27.51), the long jump (16-4.25) and ran a leg on the winning 800-meter relay (1:50.00). April Schulz won the shot put (32-11) and discus (104-1). Wall won the 400-meter relay (:53.83), and Paige Kjerstad won the 400-meter dash (1:01.49).

Jones County senior Jolie Dugan had a big day for the Coyotes. The future Northern State runner won the 800-meter run (2:26.78), 3,200 meter run (13:17.97) and ran a leg on the winning 3,200-meter relay team. Jones County senior Emma Hunt won the 100-meter hurdles (:17.42) and 300-meter hurdles (:50.57).Hunt and Dugan ran on the winning 1,600 meter relay (4:21.32). 

The Philip girls won the sprint medley relay (4:44.37) and Presley Terkildsen won the 1,600 meter run (6:01.39).

White River’s Maleena Brave equaled her season’s best jump, winning the high jump (5-1). 

For the boys, Philip’s Baylor Burns won the 800-meter run (2:07.21), Tukker Boe the 1,600 meter run (4:52.35) and Jack Peterson the 3,200 meter run (11:06.82). Kade Fitzgerald won the pole vault for Philip (11-0) while Layton Terkildsen won the high-jump (5-11). Samuel Hand won the 110-meter hurdles (:16.52) and the 300-meter hurdles (:45.29). Philip also won the 800-meter relay (1:36.40). 

Wall’s Rylan McDonnell won the long jump (20-9.25) and triple jump (41-5).

Kadoka Area’s Lincoln Koehn won the shot put (49-2) and discus (149-0). Kadoka Area sprinter Dan Schofield won the 100-meter dash (:11.67) and the 200-meter dash (:24.33).
