All-Nations Football Conference Roundup - Lower Brule pitches shutout, advances to B Division championship game

Lower Brule 54, Cheyenne-Eagle Butte/Tiospaye Topa 0 

LOWER BRULE — Lower Brule blanked Cheyenne-Eagle Butte/Tiospaye Topa in the All-Nations Football Conference semifinals on Saturday. The Sioux will play Tiospa Zina in the All-Nations B Division title game on Nov. 4 at the DakotaDome in Vermillion. 

Lower Brule’s Brian LaRoche had a hand in four total touchdowns in Saturday’s win. LaRoche scored a rushing touchdown, a receiving touchdown, a pick-six and threw a passing touchdown. 

Nunpa Kirkie added two rushing touchdowns. Marley Carpenter hauled in a touchdown reception by LaRoche. Lane Gray added a rushing touchdown and an interception on defense.

Todd County 28, Winnebago, Neb. 24

MISSION — Todd County held off Winnebago in the All-Nations Football Conference semifinals on Saturday. The Falcons will play Red Cloud in the All-Nations A Division title game on Nov. 4 at the DakotaDome in Vermillion. 

Sayge Yellow Eagle had a big day for Todd County catching a 46-yard touchdown pass from Ray Crow and scoring on a 29-yard run. Stephen Geurue and Rocky Wiedman both had touchdown runs for Todd County. A crucial 4th-down stop by the defense with just over four minutes remaining helped Todd County to a second consecutive trip to the All-Nations A Division championship. 

Destin Vargas had a hand in all four touchdowns for Winnebago. The senior had two rushing touchdowns and passing touchdowns to Ladanian Free and Kevin Tebo. 


Red Cloud 42, Standing Rock, N.D. 16 

PINE RIDGE — Red Cloud scored in all three phases of the game Saturday and defeated Standing Rock in the All-Nations Football Conference semifinals on Saturday. The Crusaders will play Todd County in the All-Nations A Division title game on Nov. 4 at the DakotaDome in Vermillion. 

Josiah Cottier caught a touchdown pass, scored on a 29-yard run and returned a punt for a touchdown for Red Cloud. Nate LeBeaux had a rushing touchdown and found Adriano Rama with a touchdown pass. Rama had a touchdown pass to Cottier while Haedyn Haas returned an interception for a touchdown. 

Standing Rock’s George Bradley opened the game with a 55-yard fumble recovery while quarterback Thane Beheler had a touchdown pass for the Warriors. 


Tiospa Zina 46, Omaha Nation, Neb., 12

AGENCY VILLAGE — Tiospa Zina pulled away from Omaha, Nebraska, for an All-Nations Football Conference semifinal win on Saturday.

No other information was available. 

The Wambdi will play Lower Brule in the All-Nations Football Conference B Division title game on Nov. 4 at the DakotaDome in Vermillion.
