PIERRE — Lincoln Kienholz powered Class 11AA No. 1 Pierre past Aberdeen Central in its season opener on Saturday.

The all-state quarterback threw for 423 yards and scored seven total touchdowns, including six through the air. Kienholz connected with Jack Merkwan and Jett Zabel for three touchdown receptions apiece. Merkwan finished with nine catches for 198 yards, while Zabel hauled in 13 catches for 187 yards. 

Tripp-Delmont/Armour/Andes Central/Dakota Christian 37, Lakota Tech 20

PINE RIDGE — Tripp-Delmont/Armour/Andes Central/Dakota Christian jumped out to a 31-8 halftime lead en route to a Saturday high school football win over Lakota Tech. 

The Thunderhawks finished with 256 total yards, including 231 rushing yards on 45 carries. Garth Maas rushed for 61 yards on 15 carries and scored one touchdown. Hunter Loeffler and Sabas DeHaan scored two rushing touchdowns apiece. Mason Reiner passed for 25 yards and threw a passing touchdown to Riley Spaans. Payton Westendorf logged 6.5 tackles and one sack, while Reiner had an interception. 

Lakota Tech’s Quincy Means rushed for 130 yards on 13 carries and scored one touchdown. Dominic Ghost Bear hauled in four catches for 82 yards and caught two touchdown passes. Samuel O’Rourke Jr., logged 6.5 tackles.
