Boys games: 

Waubay/Summit (7-1) at Aberdeen Christian (7-2)

Basketball fans in Region 1B have their eyes all over this Waubay/Summit matchup. The Mustangs have just one loss on the season (Bridgewater-Emery) and are coming off a 65-46 win over Class A Milbank. Aberdeen Christian is battle tested after wins over Potter County (7-1) and Faulkton Area (9-2)

Ethan (5-2) at Corsica/Stickney (8-2)

Has any team in Region 6B been more surprising than Mike Tuschen’s Jaguars? Led by freshman Tyson Wentland, 25.4 points, 10.1 rebounds, the Jaguars are exceeding expectations. Ethan comes in hot with good wins over Wessington Springs and Bridgewater/Emery.

Girls games: 

De Smet (10-1) at Castlewood (7-2)

De Smet hits the court following its first loss of the season to Hamlin, 74-47. Ironically, the last time Castlewood lost was Jan. 6 against Hamlin, 57-39.

Howard (6-4) at Bridgewater-Emery (9-2)

Howard started the year 5-0 before running into the buzzsaw portion of their schedule. The combined record of the teams who handed Howard its four losses is 35-9. Bridgewater/Emery’s only losses came to Viborg-Hurley and St. Thomas More.

Hill City (6-4) at Rapid City Christian (7-4)

A big game in the Black Hills Conference and Region 8A as these two teams battle for seeding points and region position. Hill City has won four-of-five with their only loss coming Monday to Belle Fourche, 58-50. Rapid City Christian lost to Newcastle, Wyoming, 58-45 at last weekend’s Sacred Hoops Classic in Spearfish.
