FARGO, N.D. — Brandon Valley High School’s Navarro Schunke claimed third place at the 2023 USMC Junior Men’s Freestyle National Championships on the campus of North Dakota State University. 

Schunke, a four-time Class A wrestling champion, defeated New Jersey’s Rocco Dellagatta (16-6, 3:49) in the third-place match. 

In the semifinals, Schunke lost to eventual 285-pound champion and Wisconsin wrestler Koy Hopke (12-2, 2:02). 

Schunke will compete in the Greco-Roman division, which starts Thursday.
