Canton emerges from crowded field to win Mid-Dakota Monster wrestling tournament

PRESHO — Seven time defending Class B wrestling champion pulled ahead on Saturday to win the Mid-Dakota Monster wrestling tournament in Presho. 

The C-Hawks scored 246.5 points, ahead of Tea Area (230) and Kimball/White Lake/Platte-Geddes (225.5). WInner Area (206) and Pierre rounded out the top-five teams. 

Canton was powered by championships from Landon Walker (113), Carter Kendrick (113) and Teague Granum (190). 

Kimball/White Lake/Platte-Geddes has three champions as Gavin Braun (132), Iden Myers (150) and Lucas Lenz (165) all won titles. Winner Area also finished with three champions as Apollo Willuweit (106), Karson Keiser (138) and Ryken Orel (140) all earned top spots on the podium. 

Tea Area finished with three champions as Tyler Woodring (126), Dawson Eimers (175) and Chase DeBoear (285) each won their respective weight classes. 

The other championship went to Sisseton’s Holden Hawkings (157) and
