RAPID CITY — Harrison Good allowed one run in a complete-game performance to lift Rapid City Post 22 to the Class A Legion baseball title on Sunday. 

Good allowed four hits, four walks and struck out two batters on 106 pitches in the win. Zeke Farlee, Amarion Sailer, Dylon Marsh, Alex Dietrich, Jed Jenson, Jacob Solano and Wilson Kieffer each had hits. 

In the first inning, Dietrich two-out, two-run double spotted Rapid City a 2-0 lead and it scored another run on an error for a 3-0 advantage. Solano added an RBI single in the third inning and Sailer added an RBI sacrifice fly in the sixth inning. 

It’s the 44th Legion championship in Post 22 history, the most in state history. As the Central Regional host, Rapid City had already earned an automatic bid into the tournament on Aug. 3-7. 

As state runner-up, Sioux Falls Post 15 will secure the final spot in the eight-team field. On Sunday, Jack Smith finished with two hits in four at-bats. Cael Swanson and Myles Rees each had hits, while Swanson drove in the team’s lone run in the fifth inning. Rees took the loss after allowing seven hits, four earned runs, three walks and struck out two batters in his 5.1-inning start. 


Rapid City Post 22 8, Harrisburg Post 45 6

RAPID CITY — Rapid City Post 22 used a five-run sixth inning to eliminate Harrisburg Post 45 in the Class A Legion baseball tournament on Sunday. 

Dylon Marsh earned the win after striking out six batters, allowing four hits, four earned runs and walked two batters in a complete-game performance. 

Amarion Sailer, Wyatt Anderson, Jacob Solano and Alex Dietrich had two hits apiece. Dietrich drove in three runs, while Anderson had two RBI. 

Maddox Plack took the loss for Harrisburg. He lasted five innings, allowing seven hits, three runs and struck out seven batters. Tyman Long, Tiegan Munce, Jack Sutton and Taylor Klein each had hits.
