Class A boys sweep 3-Class Shootout all-star games

SALEM — The Class A boys all-stars swept both games at Saturday’s 3-Class Shootout. 

In Game 1, Class A outlasted Class AA (131-128) in double overtime and defeated Class B (122-101) in the second game. 

In the first game, Class A MVP Logan Collette (Dakota Valley) tossed in 26 points and hit a desperation 3-pointer to send the game into overtime. Dakota Valley’s Luke Bruns recorded 22 points, 14 rebounds and 13 assists. Rapid City Christian’s Benson Kieffer finished with 19 points, while Custer’s Kyle Virtue posted 16 points and five rebounds.

Class AA MVP Tommy Hoffman (Sioux Falls Washington) recorded 28 points and 12 rebounds. Rapid City Stevens’ Dayler Segrist finished with 22 points and three rebounds. Sturgis’ Ryan Heinert recorded 16 points and 10 rebounds. Mitchell’s Gavin Hinker tallied 14 points and seven rebounds.

In Game 2, Collette totaled 32 points and four assists. Kieffer had 25 points and four rebounds, while Bruns had 18 points and seven rebounds. Rapid City Christian’s Julius Frog had 11 points and five rebounds. 

Class B MVP Bryon Laue (Castlewood) finished with 21 points and 12 rebounds. Lemmon’s Blair Ham added 17 points and three rebounds. Dell Rapids St. Mary’s Trevon Beckman finished with 14 points, 12 rebounds and five assists.

Laue also won the dunk contest.
