Castlewood 64, Wessington Springs 45

ABERDEEN — Castlewood pulled away from Wessington Springs for a Class B boys basketball semifinal win on Friday at Wachs Arena. The Warriors will play Dell Rapids St. Mary or Viborg-Hurley at 7:45 p.m. in the state championship.

Castlewood’s Bryon Laue finished with 19 points and 13 rebounds. Jamison Keszler added 17 points and five assists. Kamden Keszler tallied nine points, six rebounds and three assists. Brody Bass and Luke Baumberger finished with eight points apiece. 

For Wessington Springs, Colby Flowers recorded 15 points, five rebounds and three steals. Ryder Michalek had 13 points and 11 rebounds. Karter Mebius added seven points, while Sam Poncelow tallied six points. Wessington Springs will play 


Wall 59, Lyman 55

ABERDEEN — Teelan Kjerstad and Emmet Dinger combined for 39 points as Wall defeated Lyman in Friday’s consolation semifinal action. The Eagles will face Freeman in the consolation championship at 1:45 p.m. Saturday.

Kjerstad led all scorers with 22 points, five rebounds and five assists, Dinger netted 17 points, Younger Amiotte had eight points and 11 rebounds, while Jace Mohr totaled seven points, two rebounds and two assists in the win.

Lyman’s Dawsen Volmer tallied 19 points and eight rebounds, Aksel Ehlers collected eight points and seven rebounds, while MJ Deihm and Cole Kieffer each scored seven points in the loss. The Raiders will take on Aberdeen Christian Saturday at 12 p.m. in the seventh place matchup.


Freeman 52, Aberdeen Christian 44

ABERDEEN — Three players scored in double figures to pace Freeman to a consolation boys basketball win on Friday. Freeman will play Wall for the consolation championship at 1:45 p.m. Saturday.

Freeman’s Tate Sorensen recorded 17 points and seven rebounds. Tayden Kerrigan finished with 14 points, six steals and five rebounds. Luke Peters posted 12 points. 

Aberdeen Christian’s Brooks Jett finished with 16 points and 16 rebounds. Luke Kaiser added 12 points, three rebounds and three assists. Dylan Hofer tallied six points and four rebounds. Aberdeen Christian will play Lyman in the seventh-place game at noon on Saturday.
