Wall 64, Sully Buttes 51

PHILIP — While leading most of the game, the Sully Buttes Chargers rallied from a double-digit deficit to comeback and take a 1-point lead over the Wall Eagles early in the fourth quarter.

But the Chargers were unable to hang on to the lead as the Wall boys qualified for the state tournament for the just second time in school history defeated Sully Buttes 64-51 in a Class B SoDak 16 game on Tuesday night.

Wall junior Emmet Dinger led the Eagles with 24 points. Sophomore Teelan Kjerstad added 16 points while junior Trevor Schultz added 10.


Castlewood 55, Ipswich 19

WATERTOWN — A balanced scoring attack propelled Class B No. 2 Castlewood to the Class B state tournament Tuesday.

Bryon Laue led the Warriors with 14 points and eight rebounds, Luke Baumberger added nine points and six rebounds, Jamison and Kamden Keszler each had eight points, combining for eight assists and three steals, while Brody Bass tallied six points and four rebounds in the win.

Ipswich’s Max Kulesa and Shay Knust each had four points in the loss.


Dell Rapids St. Mary 80, Waverly-South Shore 50

MADISON — Trevon Beckman and Jake Kopsas combined for 46 points as Class B No. 3 Dell Rapids St. Mary secured a spot in the State B boys basketball tournament Tuesday.

Beckman tallied a game-high 26 points, five rebounds, four assists and four steals, Kopsas added 20 points and four rebounds, Maverick LeBrun totaled 16 points, seven rebounds and five assists, Trimmier Hanson collected eight points while Lincoln LeBrun tallied six points in the win.

WSS’s Sam Appelhof had a team-high 15 points and nine rebounds while Colton Kranz and Bryan Ramirez each had nine points in the loss.
