VERMILLION — Sioux Falls Christian is looking for its first ever 11A state title, while Lennox is on the hunt for its first football championship since 1982.

Sioux Falls Christian (11-0) is the No. 1 seed out of 11A and the only undefeated team remaining in the class, defeating West Central, 31-7, on Nov. 4. The Chargers have had close bouts with other top teams, including a 22-20 victory over Dakota Valley on Oct. 24 and a 19-8 victory over Lennox on Sept. 13.

The Sioux Falls Christian offense scores 37.9 points per contest, led by quarterback Lincoln Prins. The senior has tossed 27 touchdowns on 65% completion this season, adding 2,074 passing yards. Cole Snyder has caught 50 passes for 1,124 yards and 17 touchdowns while reeling in six interceptions on defense, and Brayden Witte has been the lead back for Sioux Falls Christian, rushing for 821 yards and 15 touchdowns.

Allowing just 10.5 points per game defensively, the Chargers are led by defensive end Jacob Condon tallying 78 tackles, five sacks and one forced fumble. Linebacker Jake Spronk has 70 tackles and an interception. The secondary has been elite for Sioux Falls Christian this season, with defensive backs Brant Wassenaar, Cooper Strande, and Tate Connell combining for 12 interceptions.

Lennox will be making its third trip ever to the DakotaDome, and first since 2019, a 46-8 loss to Canton.

The No. 3 seeded Orioles defeated Canton, 50-0, in the quarterfinals before upsetting No. 2 Dell Rapids in its three-peat bid, 35-0, on Nov. 8. The Orioles offense scores on average 38.1 points per game, and is commanded by senior quarterback Boston Katzer.

Katzer has thrown for 2,444 yards and 30 touchdowns this season, while being second on the team in rushing at 386 yards and four rushing scores. The Orioles offensive line has been excellent all season long, allowing just one sack on Katzer, and contributing to a rush attack averaging over six yards a carry. Junior running back Tate Gerdes is the lead back in this Lennox offense, totaling 836 yards and 13 touchdowns on the ground this season. Gerdes is also the leading receiver for the Orioles, reeling in 31 passes for 346 yards and four touchdowns, Chase Faulds has caught 22 passes for 326 yards and four scores, while Ramsey Williams has scored four times on just 12 catches this season.

The Orioles defense is full of playmakers, including sophomore linebacker Jevyn Lefers who leads the Oriole defense in tackles (68) and tackles for loss (six). Nolyn Spileman is another bruiser linebacker for Lennox, recorded 43 tackles (four tackles for loss), four sacks, and three forced fumbles.

Defensively, Lennox gives up an average of 14.3 points per contest.
