ELK POINT — Dakota Valley seniors Jack Brown and Sophia Redler each won Region 3A cross-country titles Thursday running at the Elk Point Golf and Events Center. 

Brown covered the 5,000-meter course in 16 minutes and :16 seconds, ahead of Vermillion’s Gage Beverly (16:26) and Dakota Valley’s Jamison Gould (16:55). Lennox teammates Noah Sayler (17:02) and Cloy McVey (17:12) rounded out the top-five individuals. 

Redler won the girls race in 18 minutes and :42 seconds, ahead of teammate Alex McCullough (18:46) and Lennox’s Kelsey Schmidt (18:54). Vermillion’s Callie Radigan (18:58) and Lennox’s Adie McVey (19:04) rounded out the top-five girls. 

The Dakota Valley boys won the team title with 30 points, just ahead of Lennox (31) and Vermillion (40). Beresford (63) and Canton (96) rounded out the top-five teams. The Lennox girls won the team title with 26 points, just edging Dakota Valley (27) and Vermillion (41). Canton (55) and Parker (83) rounded out the top-five girls teams.
