Rapid City Central 66, Aberdeen Central 38

RAPID CITY — Three players scored in double figures to power Rapid City Central to a Friday boys basketball win.

Julius Duran finished with 21 points and eight rebounds. Preston Yellow added 13 points, six steals and three rebounds. Sean Smith posted 12 points, six assists and four rebounds. Weiland Benbo had five points. Logan Soderlin had four points and five rebounds. 

For Aberdeen Central, Luke Swanson finished with 15 points and four rebounds. Turner Bergan added six points and three rebounds. Kalen Larson scored five points. 


Viborg-Hurley 73, Freeman 64 (2OT)

HURLEY — Three players scored in double figures to pace Class B No. 5 Viborg-Hurley over Class B No. 6 Freeman in Friday boys basketball action.

VH’s Jake Austin finished with 24 points, five assists and three rebounds. Brady Schroedermeier added 19 points, nine assists and four steals. Braydyn Morrison scored 12 points. Nolan Kolthoff added eight points, seven rebounds and three assists.

For Freeman, David Walter scored 22 points and banked in a 3-pointer to send the game into overtime. Luke Miller added 10 points. 


De Smet 48, Deubrook Area 45

WHITE — Class B No. 9 De Smet clipped Deubrook Area in Friday boys basketball action.

De Smet’s Noah Luethmers and Grant Wilkinson scored 18 points apiece. Slayten Wilkinson and Carter Wilkinson had six points apiece. 

Deubrook Area’s Chance Schoenfeld finished with 20 points and hit three 3-pointers. Isaac Gass scored 12 points. Braxton Bednarek had six points and Joshua Moberg scored five points.


Pine Ridge 54, Buffalo (Wyo.) 46

GILLETTE, Wyo. — Marvin Richard III powered Pine Ridge to a Friday high school boys basketball win.

Richard III scored a game-high 27 points and recorded his 2,000th career point. Talton Hawk added nine points. Donnie Ghost Dog recorded six points, while Alex Bissonnette and Caleb Black Feather had five points apiece. 


Dell Rapids St. Mary 54, Howard 50

HOWARD — Class B No. 3 Dell Rapids St. Mary edged Howard in Friday boys basketball action.

DRSM’s Paxton Beckman finished with 17 points and five 3-pointers. Peyton Lamb added 12 points. Trimmier Hanson scored nine points and Isaac Griffin had six points. Lincoln LeBrun scored five points.

For Howard, Brody Spader finished with 17 points and three 3-pointers. Kolt Becker added 11 points. Caden Schwader scored 10 points. Owen Feldhaus and Chas Shumaker scored six points apiece. 


Groton Area 55, Hamlin 50

GROTON — Class A No. 8 Groton Area clipped Class A No. 5 Hamlin in Friday boys basketball action.

Groton Area’s Gage Sippel finished with 18 points, while Ryder Johnson added 13 points and five rebounds. Karson Zak totaled 11 points, six rebounds and three assists. Easton Weber added six points. Keegan Tracy had five points. 

For Hamlin, Boden Stevenson finished with 17 points and Jackson Wadsworth totaled 15 points. Wadsworth hit four 3-pointers. Owen Taschner posted nine points on three 3-pointers. Jack Stormo had seven points. 


Timber Lake 56, Lemmon 28

TIMBER LAKE — Kanton Hunt and Jackson Bigger powered Timber Lake to a Friday boys basketball win. 

Hunt netted 23 points and hit six 3-pointers. Bigger added 13 points, nine rebounds, five steals, three assists and three blocks. Pete Maher and Broc Bauer scored six points apiece. Bauer added four steals.

For Lemmon, Trigg Odenbach and Jacob Encinas scored seven points apiece. Odebach had three steals. Abe Mollman scored six points.


Huron 61, Tea Area 59

TEA — Class AA No. 3 Huron clipped Tea Area in Friday boys basketball action.

Huron’s Blake Ellwein finished with 20 points, 11 rebounds and four assists. Davis Chase added 14 points and eight rebounds. Myles Ellwein posted 12 points on four 3-pointers and grabbed four rebounds. Carter Porisch had 11 points and six rebounds. 

For Tea Area, Gavin Shawd totaled 26 points, eight rebounds, four 3-pointers and three steals. Grifin Wiebenga had 17 points and six rebounds. Lane Sieber recorded six points and three rebounds. Mitch Grant had five points. 


Castlewood 55, Waubay-Summit 28

SUMMIT — Kamden Keszler and Will Aderhold combined for 30 points as Class B No. 1 Castlewood cruised to a boys basketball victory Friday.

Keszler had 16 points to lead the Warriors while Aderhold collected 14 points in the win. Tyson Manley added nine points while Leonard Wenke and Trevor Everson each had five points in the win.

For Waubay-Summit, Hogan Hlavacek had 11 points, Evan Aker tallied six points while Newton Campbell netted five points in the loss.


Ethan 52, Hanson 42

ALEXANDRIA — Ethan pulled away from Hanson for a Friday boys basketball win.

Ethan’s Creighton Klumb scored 13 points and Eli Thomas had 10 points. 

For Hanson, Cole Dewald scored 10 points and Radek Jarding added nine points. Nate Wilber and Jett Jager scored seven points apiece. Wilber added four blocks and three steals. 


Flandreau 66, Chester 46

CHESTER — Luke Sheppard powered Flandreau to a Friday boys basketball win over Chester.

Sheppard finished with a game-high 33 points. 

For Chester, Teegen Hodne, JD Porok and Jaxton Opdahl recorded 11 points apiece. Porok and Opdahl had six rebounds apiece. 


Centerville 60, Canistota 17

CENTERVILLE — Centerville coasted past Canistota for a Friday high school boys basketball win. 

Centerville’s Alec Austin finished with 13 points. Bo Eide and Corbin Tople scored nine points apiece. Tople added five rebounds. Ethan Bobzin had eight points and Tucker Martz added four steals. 


Deuel 57, Florence-Henry 33

CLEAR LAKE — Troy Jenson and Gavin Maaland powered Deuel to a Friday boys basketball win.

Jenson totaled 23 points, four rebounds and four steals. Maaland added 14 points and four rebounds. Kyle Finnesand recorded nine points and 13 rebounds. Jaxtin Winter recorded six points.

For FH, Carson Kelly finished with 13 points and four rebounds. Tucker Keller had five rebounds and three points.  


Vermillion 67, Sioux Falls Lutheran 34

VERMILLION — Trey Hansen and Luke Jensen powered Vermillion to a Friday high school boys basketball win. 

Hansen finished with 20 points, 11 rebounds, five steals and four assists. Jensen added 16 points.

For Sioux Falls Lutheran, Rowen Becker had 13 points. Kade Matthies added 10 points. Sam Borg totaled seven points and eight rebounds.
