Lakota Tech 47, Todd County 45

RAPID CITY — Julian Tonche’s game-winner pushed Lakota Tech past Todd County during Wednesday’s Lakota Nation Invitational action.

Tonche had eight points in the win, Treyon Sam tallied 14 points, four rebounds and three steals, Jacob Catches recorded 12 points and five rebounds, while Davonte Ross had six points and three rebounds in the win.

TC’s Oniya Whirlwind Soldier tallied a game-high 25 points, seven rebounds and four steals, Ty Valandra had eight points, three rebounds and two steals, Kendrik Easter totaled six points, seven rebounds and two assists, while Rueben Iron Horse tallied four points and two rebounds in the loss.


Rapid City Christian 80, Santee (Neb.) 34

RAPID CITY — Class A No. 4 Rapid City Christian defeated Santee during the opening day of the Lakota Nation Invitational tournament.

Aiden Roberts led the Comets in scoring with 11 points, adding nine steals and two assists, Henry Koppman tallied 10 points, six rebounds and a steal, Wes Schlabach and Benson Kieffer each had nine points, while Julius Frog poured in eight points, grabbing six rebounds in the win.

Santee’s TaSunka Starlin tallied 13 points and five rebounds, Christian Torrez had 10 points, seven rebounds and an assist, while Akesha Starlin had nine points, two rebounds and two blocks in the loss.


Pine Ridge 100, Tiospa Zina 23

RAPID CITY — Marvin Richard III piled up 43 points as Pine Ridge defeated Tiospa Zine Wednesday.

Richard III tallied 43 points on 18-of-26 shooting, adding four rebounds and seven steals for the Thorpes, Anthony Steele recorded 14 points, 11 steals and five rebounds, Alex Bissonette had 12 points and five rebounds, while Anthony Little recorded six points, four assists and three rebounds in the win.

TZ’s Ashden Sierra had eight points, four rebounds and a steal, Jeffrey Heminger Jr. totaled six points, three rebounds and a steal, while Tayton Thompson had six points in the loss.


Custer 58, Omaha Nation (Neb.) 40

RAPID CITY — Kyle Virtue’s 31-point performance powered Custer to a Lakota Nation Invitational victory Wednesday.

Virtue tallied 31 points and seven rebounds, Rhett Lowe had 10 points, nine rebounds and six steals, Brady Virtue rallied eight points, four rebounds and an assist, while Ayden Petz tallied four points, four rebounds, two assists and a steal.

ON’s Keesan Kaaihue led the scoring with 10 points, four rebounds and two assists, Franklin Lasley tallied seven points and two rebounds, Keelan Kaaihue had six points and five rebounds, while Tayven Wolfe recorded five points and two rebounds in the loss.


Mahpiya Luta 62, McLaughlin 26

RAPID CITY — Mahpiya Luta defeated McLaughlin in the opening day of the Lakota Nation Invitational Wednesday.

Josh Anderson led the Crusaders in scoring with 12 points, two rebounds and two steals, Braylon Little tallied nine points, Jacoby Spotted Eagle had eight points and two assists, Chayton Palmier recorded seven points, while Christian Jack tallied six points, four rebounds and an assist in the win.

McLaughlin’s Jazz Bull Head had seven points, two rebounds and an assist, Quincy McCloud recorded five points, while Trevor Iron Shield, John Eagle Jr., and Lai’Ty Brown Otter each had four points in the loss.


Wall 58, Cheyenne-Eagle Butte 55

RAPID CITY — Teelan Kjerstad’s 23 point outing lifted Wall past Cheyenne-Eagle Butte during Wednesday’s LNI action.

Kjerstad had 23 points, three rebounds, two assists and five steals, Trevor Schultz recorded 10 points and three rebounds, Emmet Dinger tallied eight points and seven rebounds, Chase Carlbom totaled six points, two rebounds and a block, while Dawson Handcock tallied five points in the win.

CEB’s Easton Lawrence had a team-high 15 points and 14 rebounds, Damien Clown recorded 12 points, five rebounds and three steals, Nehemiah Veaux recorded eight points, eight rebounds and two steals, while Nicholas Woods II and Austin Johnson each had seven points in the loss.


St. Francis 80, White River 45

RAPID CITY — Four players finished in double figures as St. Francis defeated White River Wednesday night.

Kenyon McCloskey tallied 19 points  and three steals, Johnny Gunhammer had 16 points and four rebounds, Ethan Spotted Tail recorded 16 points, six rebounds, Mackenzie Wike had 10 points, two rebounds and two assists, while Jesse Rodriquez tallied six points in the win.

WR’s Teagen Bouman recorded a team-high 17 points, Bryson One Star totaled 10 points and three rebounds, Kreg Stodard tallied seven points, four rebounds and two assists, while Jaxon Krogman had eight points and two rebounds in the loss.


Little Wound 58, Lower Brule 50

RAPID CITY — Little Wound’s 18-point 4th quarter helped propel its victory over Lower Brule Wednesday at the Lakota Nation Invitational.

Cashus Hunter tallied 14 points, six rebounds, three steals and two assists, Daelan LeBeaux totaled 14 points and eight rebounds, Kinyan Catches Enemy tallied nine points, six rebounds, three steals and three blocks, while Bill Loafer and Jayvier Red Owl each had six points in the win.

LB’s Elliot LaRoche had a team-high 13 points and four rebounds, Robert Staples tallied 10 points and two rebounds, Kristian Antelope totaled six points and two blocks, while Lane Gray had eight points, four rebounds and four steals in the loss.


Wakpala 63, Tiospaye Topa 43

RAPID CITY — Three players finished in double figures as Wakpala defeated Tiospaye Topa during Wednesday’s LNI action.

Lane Cadotte led the game with 20 points, six rebounds and three assists, Tavaughn Steele tallied 17 points, 14 rebounds and three assists, Bretten Wells had 15 points and six rebounds, while Lawrence Gooden totaled six points and 10 rebounds in the win.

TT’s Jakolby Rousseau had a team-high 14 points and seven rebounds, Laken Traversie collected 10 points and two rebounds, while Bailee Hall had eight points and four rebounds in the loss.


Marty 94, Takini 24

RAPID CITY — Marty defeated Takini during Wednesday’s Lakota Nation Invitational action.

Greg Zephier tallied 12 points, four steals and two assists, Tatetawa Bair had 10 points and four steals, Tayshun Brewer recorded nine points and four steals, Aiden Weddell had eight points, Emery Nelson tallied six points and three steals, while Greg Costello and Tyson Cournoyer each had five points in the win.

Takini’s Artoreus Waloke tallied nine points and eight rebounds, while Drayveus Yellow Owl had four points and seven rebounds in the loss.


Crow Creek 63, Oelrichs 29

RAPID CITY — Crow Creek took down Oelrichs Wednesday at the Lakota Nation Invitational.

Justin St. John led Crow Creek with 17 points, six rebounds and five steals, Kingston Big Eagle tallied 16 points, 11 rebounds and a block, Javjuan Dion had 14 points and three steals, while Jade Sazue totaled three points and two rebounds in the win.

Oelrichs’ Andre Warrior tallied 11 points, four rebounds, two blocks and two steals while Anthony Warrior recorded eight points, four rebounds and three steals in the loss.
