Mitchell 61, Orono (Minn.) 60

MITCHELL — Markus Talley’s 30-point burst powered Class AA No. 1 Mitchell over Orono during Saturday’s Hoop City Classic.

Talley finished with 30 points and six rebounds, Colton Smith added 15 points, three rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocks, Landen Soulek had six points and four assists, while Gavin Hinker totaled six points, seven rebounds and a block in the win.

Orono’s Nolan Groves dropped a game-high 35 points, adding six rebounds, six steals and four assists, Nate Chavez had eight points and three rebounds, Brady Wooley had five points, two rebounds and an assist, while Gavin McGuirk and Brennan Doherty each had three points in the loss.


McCook Central-Montrose 51, Ethan 48

MITCHELL — Lane Deutsch’s 17-point performance lifted McCook Central-Montrose past Ethan Saturday at the Hoop City Classic.

Deutsch finished with 17 points, four rebounds and two steals, Jackson Schmidt had 10 points and three rebounds, Mason Sabers tallied 10 points, five assists and three steals, while Zane McCormick totaled eight points, six rebounds and a steal in the win.

Ethan’s Davin Hohn dropped 20 points, three rebounds and an assist in the loss, Braedon Nebelsick tallied 15 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and two steals, while Jaxx Kurtenbach had nine points, five rebounds and two assists as well.


Pine Ridge 55, Parkston 48

MITCHELL — Marvin Richard III’s 24-point outing lifted Pine Ridge past Parkston Saturday in the Hoop City Classic.

Richard III finished with 24 points, eight rebounds, five assists and two steals, Anthony Steele added 16 points, 10 rebounds, two assists and two steals, Caleb Black Feather had seven points, three assists and two rebounds, while Kolbe Steele tallied six points, two rebounds and two assists in the win.

Parkston’s James Deckert led the Trojans with 13 points, seven rebounds, two assists and two steals, Reco Muilenburg had 11 points and six rebounds, Brycen Bruening had eight points and three rebounds, Mason Jervik totaled seven points and six rebounds, while Elliot Leischner had six points and seven boards in the loss.


Freeman 59, White River 45

MITCHELL — David Waltner and Tate Sorenson combined for 39 points as Freeman took down White River Saturday at the Hoop City Classic.

Waltner tallied a game-high 21 points, nine rebounds and two steals while Sorenson totaled a double-double with 18 points, 10 rebounds and two assists in the win. Luke Peters added seven points, two rebounds and two assists, while Oliver Waltner tallied six points and two offensive rebounds as well.

WR’s Teagen Bouman had 20 points, 10 rebounds, three steals and two assists, Bryson One Star had nine points, five assists and three steals, Riley Bouman added seven points, two rebounds and an assist, while Liam White Hat totaled six points and two steals in the loss.


Harrisburg 47, Orlando Christian Prep (Flor.) 38

MITCHELL — Stellan Larson and Aiden Costain combined for 34 points as Harrisburg took down Orlando Christian Prep during Saturday’s Hoop City Classic action.

Larson recorded a double-double in the victory with 18 points, 10 rebounds and an assist, Costain added 16 points and five rebounds, Isaiah Tap tallied four points and eight rebounds, while Nolan Krull collected four points, three rebounds and three assists in the win.

OCP’s Josh Theus led with 17 points, four rebounds and three assists, Henry Thomas totaled seven points and six rebounds, while Eric Noblin and Zeke Gunn each had five points in the loss.

Sioux Falls Christian 71, Coronado (Nev.) 50

MITCHELL — Three players scored in double figures as Class A No. 1 Sioux Falls Christian took down Coronado to close out the Hoop City Classic action Saturday.

SFC’s Cooper Goodbary led the charge with 17 points and 11 rebounds, Griffen Goodbary had 15 points, 10 rebounds and two assists, Brant Wassenaar tallied 14 points, three rebounds and three assists, Britton Mulder had nine points, while Cole Snyder added eight points and four steals in the win.

Coronado’s Jalen St. Clair tallied 16 points and two steals, Mason Abittan had 13 points, three rebounds and a steal, JJ Buchanan tallied eight points and five steals, Lantz Stephenson totaled seven points and four rebounds, while Jonny Collins collected four points, three rebounds and two assists in the loss.


Houston (Tenn.) 64, St. Thomas More 54

MITCHELL — Keron Jackson Jr. powered Houston past St. Thomas More Saturday at the Hoop City Classic.

Jackson Jr. finished with 21 points, six rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocks, Jordan Myles had 16 points and seven rebounds, Justin Frison tallied 12 points, seven assists and two steals, Kaleb Jeffries recorded seven points, four assists, three rebounds and three steals, while WIll Ballard had five points in the win.

STM’s Declan Duffy tallied a team-high 14 points, Ashton Paulson added 13 points and three assists, Wyatt Gylten tallied 10 points, three rebounds and three assists, while Max Speed collected eight points and eight rebounds in the loss.


St. George’s (Tenn.) 66, Lower Brule 41

MITCHELL — Four players scored in double figures as St. George’s defeated Lower Brule Saturday morning at the Hoop City Classic.

Kamryn Green led the way with 16 points and 10 rebounds, Silas Jones had 15 points, three steals and two assists, Carson Crump had 11 points, four rebounds and six steals, Rollin Crouse tallied 10 points, three assists and three steals, while Onterious Odom totaled six points, seven rebounds, three assists and three steals in the win.

LB’s Kristian Antelope had 12 points, Payton Palmier tallied seven points, four rebounds and an assist, Lane Gray added six points, five rebounds and four assists, while Nate Middletent tallied six points and four rebounds in the loss.


Totino-Grace (Minn.) 67, Houston (Tenn.) 57

MITCHELL — Two players reached the 20-point mark as Totino-Grace defeated Houston during Saturday’s Hoop City Classic action.

Chase Watley finished with 22 points, five rebounds and four assists, Malachi Hill added 21 points, six rebounds, a steal and an assist, Tian Chatman totaled nine points, and two rebounds, whileDaniel Zoa and Will Farris each had six points in the win.

Houston’s Keron Jackson Jr. totaled 18 points and four rebounds, Justin Frison had 13 points, three rebounds and two assists, Jordan Myles had 13 points, three rebounds and two steals, while Kaleb Jeffries tallied six points and two assists in the loss.
