Douglas cross-country teams sweep titles at Dave Scott Invitational
Douglas's Kira Ubence won the girls race and helped Douglas to the team title at Tuesday's Dave Scott Invitational.

HOT SPRINGS — The Douglas cross-country teams swept the team and individual titles at Tuesday’s Southern Hills Invitational run at the Southern Hills Country Club. 

Douglas’s Kira Ubence won the girls race 17:45, just edging teammate Aurora Evans (17:45) and Little Wound’s Tacha Zephier (19:37). Douglas teammates Erin Harms (20:09) and Kaelyn Knudson rounded out the top five finishers.

Douglas’s Bennie Olsen won the boys race (19:23), ahead of Crazy Horse’s Edward Black Hawk (19:37) and Hot Springs’ Parker Wellnitz (20:06). Hay Springs, Nebraska’s Mason Albrecht (20:36) and Gavin Chiaroni of Douglas (21:05) rounded out the top-five finishers.

Douglas won the girls team title with 12 points, ahead of Little Wound (26). The Douglas boys won their team title with 14 points, well ahead of Little Wound (32) and Hot Springs (38).
