NEWELL — The Dupree boys and Lemmon girls won team titles at Friday’s Newell Invitational. 

The Tigers finished with 13 points and edged Lemmon by two points for the team title. The Cowgirls recorded 10 points, finishing ahead of Wall (18) for the team win. 

Individually, Dupree’s Jessup Pederson won the 5,000-meter boys race in 19 minutes and :04.87 seconds at the Newell Golf Course. Bison’s William Burkhalter (19:19.42) and Lemmon’s Hayden Bentley (19:31.90) placed second and third, respectively. Newell’s Clint Winkler (19:57.04) and Lemmon’s Gage Anderson (20:12.14) rounded out the top-five runners. 

Lemmon’s Brynn Odenbach won the girls individual race in 21:55.01, finishing ahead of Hulett, Wyoming’s Abby Palus (22:13.88). Lemmon’s Jordyn Kohn (22:29.47), Harding County’s Claire Verhulst (22:30.56) and Wall’s Taylee Dartt (22:31.83) rounded out the top-five finishers.
