Girls basketball

Ethan 40, Sanborn Central/Woonsocket 33

ETHAN — Hannah Bartscher scored her 1,000th career point as Ethan rallied past Sanborn Central/Woonsocket for a girls basketball win on Tuesday. 

Ava Lingemann led the Rustlers with 16 points, while Bartscher added 14 points. Bella Nesheim scored six points.

SCW’s Liz Boschee tossed in 11 points and Brooke Doering scored nine points. Kennadie Ochsner scored six points. 


Hanson 44, Wagner 40

ALEXANDRIA — Annalyse Weber and Vanessa Doyle combined for 30 points as Hanson upset Class A No. 1 Wagner in girls basketball action on Tuesday. 

Weber led Hanson with 18 points, five rebounds and five steals. Doyle added 12 points in the win. 

Wagner’s Lydia Yost finished with 12 points. Eve Zephier and Emma Yost scored eight points apiece for the Red Raiders, who dropped their first game of the season.  


Corsica-Stickney 53, Burke 36

CORSICA — Three players scored in double figures to lift Class B No. 2 Corsica-Stickney to a girls basketball win over Burke on Tuesday. 

Casey Tolsma led the Jaguars with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Avery Broughton finished with 15 points, 11 rebounds and six assists. Rachel Gerlach added 11 points, while Payton DeLange had six points and eight rebounds. Morgan Clites added five rebounds, four assists and four points.

Burke’s Bridget Bartling finished with 12 points and four rebounds. Adisyn Indahl added 10 points and seven rebounds. 


Winner 52, Miller 24

WINNER — Bella Swedlund and Kelsey Sachtjen combined for 35 points as Winner cruised past Miller for a girls basketball win on Tuesday.

Swedlund scored 23 points and seven rebounds, while Sachtjen recorded 12 points, 12 rebounds, and three assists. Ava Craven chipped in seven points.

Miller’s Tyra Gates recorded 11 points, six boards, and five steals.


Aberdeen Christian 65, North Central 32

ROSCOE — Class B No. 5 Aberdeen Christian raced past North Central for a girls basketball win on Tuesday.

Mallory Miller scored a game-high 30 points, while Joy Rohrbach tallied 14 points. Grace Kaiser added 11 points.

North Central’s Amree Vander Vorst scored 11 points and eight rebounds, while Brittney Frickson added eight points.


Viborg-Hurley 62, Canistota 25

CANISTOTA — Three players scored in double-figures as Viborg-Hurley raced past Canistota in a girls basketball game on Tuesday.

Denae Mach scored 27 points, while Charley Nelson tallied 12 points and five rebounds. Coral Mason added 11 points, 11 rebounds, six assists, and four steals.

For Canistota, Kayla Papendick scored 12 points.


Irene-Wakonda 61, Howard 55 (OT)

HOWARD — Irene-Wakonda outlasted Howard in overtime in a girls basketball game on Tuesday.

Katie Knodel and Nora O’Malley each scored 17 points, while Emma Marshall netted 16 points. O’Malley also had six steals. Madison Orr added eight points and Emma Orr collected nine rebounds.

For Howard, Abby Asleson scored 23 points and 17 rebounds, Rylee Rudebusch finished with 11 points. Kate Connor tallied nine points and Trinity Palmquist added eight points and seven assists.


James Valley Christian 50, Hitchcock-Tulare 36

HITCHCOCK — James Valley Christian picked up a girls basketball win over Hitchcock-Tulare on Tuesday.

Karilyn Wieting scored 19 points, while Alexa Goertz tallied 10 points.

Hitchcock-Tulare’s Madison Hofer netted 14 points and Katelyn Schroeder added 10 points.


Rapid City Christian 53, Lyman 41

PRESHO — Rapid City Christian turned a four-point halftime deficit into a 12-point girls basketball win on Tuesday.

Lyman’s Skyler Volmer logged a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Mak Scott added 14 points and five boards, while Annie Brakke finished with seven points, five rebounds and four assists. 


Colman-Egan 49, Bridgewater-Emery 45

COLMAN — Colman-Egan edged Bridgewater-Emery to win a girls basketball game on Tuesday.

Mackenzie Hemmer scored 14 points and five rebounds, while Hailey Larson finished with 13 points and eight rebounds. Lanie Mousel added nine points.

BE’s Morgan Uptagrafft finished with a game-high 15 points, while Julia Weber totaled 11 points and three steals. Taylor Schallenkamp chipped in eight points and nine boards and Chloe Schmitt added seven points, six rebounds, and six assists.


Sioux Falls Washington 61, Brookings 40

SIOUX FALLS — Class AA No. 2 Sioux Falls Washington cruised past Brookings for a girls basketball win on Tuesday.

Ndjakale Mwenentanda scored a game-high 25 points, while Bianca Meeks tallied 11 points. Alexus Motley chipped in eight points and Brooklyn Harpe added seven points and seven rebounds.

For Brookings, Ainsley Shelsta and Landree Wilson each scored 14 points.


Deuel 50, Elkton-Lake Benton 48

ELKTON —  Deuel edged Elkton-Lake Benton in a girls basketball game on Tuesday.

Haley Winter scored a game-high 28 points, along with six rebounds and four steals, while Josie Anderson and Taylor Bauman added seven points apiece.

Elkton-Lake Benton’s Tevan Erickson scored 23 points, while Kylie Ramlo added eight points and eight rebounds.


Great Plains Lutheran 57, Lake Preston 39

WATERTOWN — Mali York and Bryn Holmen combined for 30 points as Great Plains Lutheran picked up a girls basketball win over Lake Preston on Tuesday.

York finished with 18 points and four steals, while Holmen tallied 12 points and eight rebounds. Madeline Prahl scored eight points and eight rebounds and Halle Bauer added seven points and four steals.

For Lake Preston, Faith Steffensen scored nine points, while Jocelyn Steffensen and Ava Malone each added eight points.


Wolsey-Wessington 54, Kimball/White Lake 41

WOLSEY — Wolsey-Wessington picked up a girls basketball win over Kimball/White Lake on Tuesday.

Macy Luce scored 13 points, while Faith Nelson netted 12 points. Mya Boomsma tallied nine points and Lainey Uttecht added eight points.

For KWL, Harley Namanny scored a game-high 22 points, while Kate Havlik tallied 11 points. Ryann Nielsen added eight points.


West Central 79, Tri-Valley 47

COLTON — Class A No. 2 West Central used a 26-9 second quarter to put away Tri-Valley in girls basketball action on Tuesday. 

Rylee Haldeman led the Trojans with 29 points, while Addy Kramer scored 26 points.

Tri-Valley’s Lauren Grinde had 15 points and Paige Jewett added 12 points. 


Highmore-Harrold 65, Sunshine Bible Academy 24

HIGHMORE — Letha Jessen poured in 32 points to power Highmore-Harrold to a girls basketball win over Sunshine Bible Academy on Tuesday.

Grace Knox added 16 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds. Emilee Schied added nine points and nine rebounds. Kendall Cermak had six points and Reghan Westcott dished out six assists. 

SBA’s Jakki Burma logged eight points and five rebounds, while Anna VanZee recorded six points.  


Deubrook Area 57, Madison 37

MADISON — Deubrook Area used a 17-3 first quarter to pull away from Madison in a girls basketball game on Tuesday.

Emma Vandermeer scored 14 points, six rebounds, and four steals, while Ellie Koenig tallied 12 points and seven rebounds. Emma Sheffield netted 10 points and Miranda Moravetz added eight points.

For Madison, Audrey Nelson scored 13 points, while Zoey Gerry added 11 points, 11 rebounds, and three steals.


Chester Area 63, Parker 52

CHESTER — Chester Area picked up a girls basketball win over Parker on Tuesday.

Emery Larson scored 14 points, four assists, and four steals, while Carly Becker netted 12 points and Emmerson Eppard added 10 points, eight rebounds, and four assists. Raegan Hoff grabbed nine boards.

Parker’s Alexis Even scored a game-high 19 points, while Anna Reiffenberger added nine points.


Ipswich 48, Leola/Frederick Area 41

IPSWICH — Katie Bierman’s double-double helped lead Ipswich to a girls basketball win over Leola/Frederick Area on Tuesday.

Bierman finished with 21 points, 11 assists, eight rebounds, and three steals. Ashlyn Weig and Quincy Olivier each added nine points.

The Titans were led by Sofia Losure and Laura Sumption with 14 points apiece. Losure also grabbed 12 rebounds. Chloe Arneson added eight points.


Sisseton 61, Britton-Hecla 39

BRITTON — Sisseton raced past Britton-Hecla to pick up a girls basketball win on Tuesday.

Krista Langager scored 14 points, while Hailey Nelson tallied 10 points and Tara Nelson added nine points.

For BH, Jenna Werner recorded 13 points, Goiuri Sarria tallied 10 points, and Chloe Furman added eight points.


Clark/Willow Lake 51, Tiospa Zina 40

AGENCY VILLAGE — Clark/Willow Lake pull away from Tiospa Zina for a girls basketball win on Tuesday.

Alicia Vig led the Cyclones with 20 points and hit five 3-pointers. Musonda Kabwe and Maggie Hovde scored eight points apiece. Tehya Vig and Summer Seefeldt scored seven and five points, respectively. 

Tiospa Zina’s Kennadee Bissonette scored 22 points and Alexia Quinn added 12 points.

Rapid City Christian 53, Lyman 44

PRESHO — Rapid City Christian pulled away from Lyman for a boys basketball win on Tuesday. 

Mitch Heidecker led the Comets with 17 points, while Sam Fischer scored 12 points. Elijah Hoyt added 11 points and Carson Glassbrenner scored six points. Jackson DiBona finished with five points. 

Lyman’s Sam McClanahan scored 11 points, while Stockton McClanahan added nine points. Colton Collins finished with eight points and Isaac Thomas scored seven points. Toby Estes added six points. 


Mount Vernon/Plankinton 63, Gregory 60

GREGORY — Mount Vernon/Plankinton outlasted Gregory in boys basketball action on Tuesday.

Reed Rus led the Titans with 17 points, 10 rebounds and four assists. Jordan Stoltz added 11 points and five rebounds. Ryan Chapman logged 10 points and five rebounds. Zach Baker finished with nine points, while Mason Hetland added six points. 

Gregory’s Daniel Mitchell scored 13 points and Cole Serr added 11 points. Cruz Klundt scored 10 points. 


Wessington Springs 77, Iroquois/Doland 55

IROQUOIS — Mason Schelske scored his 1,000th career point as Wessington Springs picked up a boys basketball win over Iroquois/Doland on Tuesday. 

Schelske finished with 28 points, nine rebounds and five assists. Brock Krueger finished with 12 points, four rebounds and four assists. Bryce Kopfmann had 11 points, five rebounds and four assists. Blake Larson posted nine points, seven rebounds and four assists. Cade Mohling logged five points, while Colby Flowers finished with five points and four rebounds. 

Iroquois/Doland’s Haydon Shurson finished with 27 points and five rebounds. Logan Peskey added 16 points and five rebounds. Diego Prieto posted nine points and four rebounds.

WINNER — Three players scored in double figures to lift Class A No. 3 Winner to a boys basketball win over Miller on Tuesday. 

Blake Volmer led the Warriors with 27 points, nine rebounds and nine assists. Slade Cournoyer added 14 points, five rebounds and four assists. Ethan Bartels logged 13 points and six rebounds. Jackson Vesely added eight points. 

Miller’s Alex Schumacher posted 16 points, four rebounds and four steals. Trevor Werdel finished with 13 points and six rebounds. Dylan Hass finished with seven points and seven rebounds. Cole McKinstry grabbed six rebounds. 


White River 103, St. Francis Indian 42

WHITE RIVER — Class B No. 2 White River coasted past St. Francis Indian for a boys basketball win on Tuesday. 

Joe Sayler led the Tigers with 34 points, four rebounds and four assists. Dylan Marshall added 27 points, 10 rebounds and five assists. 


Hamlin 79, Arlington 42

HAYTI — Four players scored in double figures to lift Hamlin to a boys basketball win over Arlington on Tuesday. 

Easton Neuendorf led the Chargers with 20 points, while Evan Stormo scored 14 points. Brennan Keszler scored 12 points and Tyson Stevenson scored 11 points. Rylan Bawdon added seven points.

Arlington’s Ryker Erstad scored 12 points, while Caden Letsche finished with 11 points. Britt Carlson added nine points and Blake Madsen scored six points. 


Hanson 52, Wagner 50

ALEXANDRIA — Hanson edged Wagner in a boys basketball game on Tuesday.

Noah Price recorded 17 points and nine rebounds, while Ethan Cheeseman added 15 points and four steals. Jackson Jarding grabbed seven boards.

For Wagner, Dustin Honomichl scored a game-high 21 points, while Toby Zephier added 13 points.


Hitchcock-Tulare 68, James Valley Christian 61

HITCHCOCK — Hitchcock-Tulare earned a boys basketball win over James Valley Christian on Tuesday.

TJ Salmen recorded 18 points, while Kyle Hamilton and Jackson Maynard each tallied 12 points. Jack Boomsma netted 10 points, while Erik Salmen and Zach Gilbert added nine and seven points, respectively.

For JVC, Landon Wallman totaled 20 points and Landon Wager added 13 points.


Howard 64, Irene-Wakonda 35

HOWARD — Howard jumped out to a 19-4 first-quarter lead en route to a boys basketball win over Irene-Wakonda on Tuesday. 

Howard’s Jace Sifore scored a game-high 16 points, while Kolt Koepsell added 15 points. Ryder Erickson logged 10 points and Luke Koepsell scored eight points. Brayden Hinker netted seven points. 

Irene-Wakonda’s Miles Pollman posted eight points and Conner Libby scored seven points. Jens Hansen added six points, while Jake Kuhl and Garrett Libby had five points apiece. 


Mobridge-Pollock 73, Cheyenne-Eagle Butte 59

MOBRIDGE — Mobridge-Pollock held off Cheyenne-Eagle Butte for a boys basketball win on Tuesday.

Caelan McCollam led the Tigers with 18 points and 10 rebounds, while Trent Schmeichel scored 16 points. Jackson Eisemann scored 15 points and Brady Bauer tossed in 12 points. Ashton Pfitzer netted six points. 

CEB’s Rance Harrison scored a game-high 26 points. Elijah Brewer scored 13 points, while Teysean Eaglestaff added 10 points. Nashon LeBeau scored eight points. 


Aberdeen Christian 73, North Central 33

ROSCOE — Three players scored in double-figures as Class B No. 4 Aberdeen Christian cruised past North Central for a boys basketball win on Tuesday.

Jackson Isakson scored 17 points, while Malek Wieker tallied 15 points and Ethan Russell recorded 13 points. Blake Rich netted nine points and Andrew Brennan added seven points.

For North Central, Bryce Beitelspacher scored 11 points and Colton Mohr tallied eight points. Chris Marshalek added seven points.


Clark/Willow Lake 54, Tiospa Zina 51

AGENCY VILLAGE — Tyler O’Neill and Noah Boykin combined for 37 points as Clark/Willow Lake edged Tiospa Zina in boys basketball action on Tuesday. 

O’Neill led the Cyclones with 22 points and hit three 3-pointers. Boykin added 15 points and Trey Huber scored eight points. Brady Jordan added seven points. 

Tiospa Zina’s Jasiah Red Bear finished with 19 points, while Devin Long Crow and Juron Adams scored nine points apiece. Perry Lufkins and Jayryn Adams scored five points apiece. 


Parkston 60, McCook Central/Montrose 54

SALEM — Three players scored in double figures as Parkston edged McCook Central/Montrose in boys basketball action on Tuesday.

Cole Prunty led the Trojans with 23 points and five rebounds. Will Jodozi added 12 points and 10 rebounds, while Max Scott scored 10 points. Luke Bormann finished with eight points, while Brayden Jervik had five points. 

MCM’s Cody Miles and Boston Katzer scored 18 points apiece, while Miles grabbed six rebounds and Katzer had five boards. Micah Van Ruler scored six points and collected five rebounds. Owen Alley finished with five points and five rebounds, while Carter Jandl had seven rebounds. 


Potter County 68, Aberdeen Roncalli 40 

HOVEN — Four players scored in double figures to power Potter County to a boys basketball win over Aberdeen Roncalli on Tuesday. 

Grant Luikens led the Battlers with 20 points, while Drake Bassett added 18 points. Cooper Logan and Seth Sharp scored 12 and 10 points, respectively. 

Roncalli’s Maddox May scored 11 points, while Maddox Miller and Keegan Stewart scored six points apiece. Brody Weinmeister added five points. 


Crow Creek 63, McLaughlin 62

MCLAUGHLIN — Crow Creek edged McLaughlin for a boys basketball win on Tuesday. 

Elias Sims led the Mustangs with 38 points, while Rayden Bullhead scored six points and Lane Lawrence scored five points. 


Parker 68, Chester Area 52

CHESTER — Three players scored in double-figures as Parker picked up a boys basketball win over Chester Area on Tuesday.

Carter Robertson scored 29 points, while Ray Travnicek tallied 14 points and Davin Fuller added 13 points.

Chester Area’s Jovi Wolf netted 16 points, while Brock Wages tallied 11 points. Stratton Eppard grabbed nine boards.


Faulkton Area 60, Warner 50

FAULKTON — Faulkton Area rallied from a 17-point deficit to knock off Warner in Tuesday boys basketball action. 

Bennett Cassens and Layne Cotton scored 15 points apiece. Hunter Niederbaumer scored 14 points. 


Estelline/Hendricks 64, Waverly-South Shore 40

ESTELLINE — Three players scored in double-figures as Estelline/Hendricks earned a boys basketball win over Waverly-South Shore on Tuesday.

Dawson Bury tallied a game-high 18 points and three steals. Braxton Saathoff scored 17 points, while Joe McAninch recorded 16 points, 17 rebounds, and five steals. Mattix Hausman dished out six assists.

For WSS, Grant Holman scored 12 points, while Carter Comes recorded nine points and Sam Appelhof added six points.


Sisseton 54, Britton-Hecla 47

BRITTON — Sisseton edged Britton-Hecla for a boys basketball win on Tuesday.

Ty Langager and Riley Brave Bull each scored 18 points, while Mikah Hamm netted eight points and Jairus Chanku added seven points.

For BH, Aidan Fredrickson scored 15 points, Ashton Mills and Gage Storley each tallied 10 points, and BoDell Davidson added nine points.


Deuel 56, Elkton-Lake Benton 44

ELKTON — Cooper Schiernbeck and Trey Maaland combined for 33 points as Deuel topped Elkton-Lake Benton in a boys basketball game on Tuesday.

Schiernbeck scored 17 points, while Maaland added 16 points.

For ELB, Ryan Krog tallied 13 points, Logan Kuehl recorded 12 points and five boards, and Isaac Jaacks added eight points and nine boards.


West Central 67, Tri-Valley 33

COLTON — West Central built a 36-14 halftime lead and topped Tri-Valley in boys basketball action on Tuesday. 

West Central’s Braden Herr finished with 13 points, while Jack Linneman added 11 points.

Tri-Valley’s Lance DeWitt had seven points. 


Sioux Falls Roosevelt 72, Huron 39

HURON — Class AA No. 1 Sioux Falls Roosevelt raced past Huron for a boys basketball win on Tuesday.

Micah Johnson scored 16 points, while Vance Borchers tallied 11 points. Marcus Phillips and Hayden Brown each finished with eight points, while Gabe Kranzler added seven points

Huron’s Reilyn Zavesky scored 12 points and seven boards, while Max Kranzler added 10 points.


Sioux Falls Lincoln 58, Watertown 45

WATERTOWN — Class AA No. 5 Sioux Falls Lincoln pulled past Watertown for a boys basketball win on Tuesday. 

Elliot Whitney led the Patriots with 18 points and six assists. J.T. Rock added nine points and seven rebounds. Gage Gohl finished with nine points and six rebounds, while Khalil Cisse logged nine points and five rebounds. Cameron Jackson scored eight points and Saif Shah grabbed eight rebounds.

Watertown’s Drew Norberg scored 19 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Mack Johnson logged eight points and five rebounds. 


Harrisburg 60, Brandon Valley 58

HARRISBURG — Harrisburg outlasted Brandon Valley for a boys basketball win on Tuesday. 

Ethan Determan led the Tigers with 20 points, while Gavin Aasheim and Jacoby Mehrman scored 15 points apiece. 

Brandon Valley’s Nate Vandeberg scored 24 points. Dylan Langerock scored 11 points.
