Freeman Academy/Marion 69, Burke 60

CORSICA — Freeman Academy/Marion held off Burke en route to the boys Great Plains Conference Classic championship on Saturday.

FAM’s Connor Epp finished with a game-high 22 points, while Thalen Schroeder and Donte Butler scored 10 points apiece. Quincy Blue tossed in nine points and Matthew Hagen scored seven points.

Burke’s Bryce Frank scored 19 points and Ben Witt netted 15 points. Brogan Glover added 13 points, while Nick Nelson netted seven points. Reed Benter had five points.

Centerville 61, Corsica-Stickney 47

CORSICA — Centerville used a balanced scoring attack to pick up a boys basketball win at the Great Plains Conference Classic on Saturday.

Aiden Bobzin led the Tornadoes with 15 points, while Leny Ciprian scored 11 points. Alec Austin and Owen Hunter each tallied nine points, while Cole Edberg and Logan Bobzin added eight points apiece. Malachi Brouwer grabbed 10 rebounds.

Corsica-Stickney’s Tyson Wentland poured in a game-high 26 points and six rebounds, while Taven Burke added nine points and 11 rebounds.

White River 81, Todd County 60

MISSION — Three players scored in double figures as Class B No. 2 White River coasted past Todd County for a boys basketball win on Saturday.

Joe Sayler led the Tigers with 37 points and four rebounds. Dylan Marshall added 18 points and four rebounds, while Nic Marshall recorded 11 points and four assists. 


Aberdeen Roncalli 47, Langford Area 44

WARNER — Aberdeen Roncalli edged Langford Area for a boys basketball win at the Warner Classic on Saturday.

Roncalli was led by Zeezrom Mounga with 19 points. Keegan Stewart and Maddox May each scored seven points. Maddox Miller and Caden Shelton each added five points.

The Lions were led by Jesse Keough with 18 points, while Brayden Peterson scored eight points. Kassen Keough and Ben Gustafson scored seven and six points, respectively. Gustafson added 11 rebounds.


Lake Preston 58, Sunshine Bible Academy 41

LAKE PRESTON — Lake Preston picked up a boys basketball win on Saturday.

Josh McMasters and Riley Casper each scored 19 points to lead the Divers. Casper also recorded 14 rebounds, eight steals, and three blocks. Jake Larsen added 10 points and six rebounds.

SBA was led by Nolan Triebwasser with 24 points, six boards, and four assists, while Daniel Gerbracht added 11 points and five boards.


West Central 86, McCook Central/Montrose 42

HARTFORD — Four players scored in double figures as West Central raced past McCook Central/Montrose for a boys basketball win on Saturday.

Jacob Krempges led the Trojans with 19 points and five rebounds, while Mubarak Ibrahim scored 17 points. Jack Linneman tallied 13 points, while Dillon Jackson finished with 12 points and five rebounds. Owen Heath grabbed 12 rebounds.

MCM’s Gavin Gordon scored 12 points.


Mitchell 65, Rapid City Central 42

MITCHELL — Class AA No. 4 Mitchell picked up a 23-point boys basketball win over Rapid City Central on Saturday.

Mitchell’s Caden Hinker finished with 25 points and five rebounds. Dylan Soulek and Gavin Soukup had nine points apiece, while Soukup had five rebounds. Charlie McCardle and Aiden Meyers scored five points apiece, while McCardle had seven rebounds. Meyers added six boards. Steele Morgan posted seven points and eight rebounds. 

Rapid City Central’s Jet Janvrin finished with 15 points and four boards. Jace Brown added 11 points.


Rapid City Stevens 47, Huron 45

HURON — Jaden Haefs hit a 3-pointer with six seconds left to lift Rapid City Stevens to a boys basketball win over Huron on Saturday.

Nate Kindred led the Raiders with 14 points and six rebounds, while Haefs scored 13 points. Drew Marchant and Charles Christensen each scored six points.

Huron’s Max Kranzler scored 16 points, while Dawsyn Rogers and Jayden Beck added eight and seven points, respectively.


Aberdeen Central 71, Brookings 43

ABERDEEN — Three players scored in double figures as Class AA No. 5 Aberdeen Central topped Brookings in boys basketball action on Saturday. 

Sam Rohlfs and Alec Voegele led Aberdeen Central with 18 points apiece. Voegele grabbed eight rebounds, while Rohlfs had six boards. A.J. Hase recorded 15 points, six rebounds, four assists and three 3-pointers. Carter Dingman hit 3-pointers for nine points, while Jackson Dorsett logged five points and five boards. 

Brookings’ Nathan Lease posted 16 points and five boards. Zach Moe and Jaxton Eck scored five points apiece. Eck added five rebounds. 


Girls basketball 

Sioux Falls Washington 68, Sioux Falls Roosevelt 43

SIOUX FALLS — Four players scored in double figures as Class AA No. 2 Sioux Falls Washington cruised past Sioux Falls Roosevelt for a girls basketball win on Saturday.

Taylor Thompson led the Warriors with 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Alexus Motley scored 13 points. Brooklyn Harpe tallied 11 points and Grace Peterson added 10 points.

The Rough Riders were led by Kaela Martinez with 16 points, while Abigail Schuldt added 10 points.


Huron 60, Rapid City Stevens 57 (OT)

RAPID CITY — Huron outlasted Class AA No. 3 Rapid City Stevens in overtime for a girls basketball win on Saturday.

Hamtyn Heinz scored 16 points, while Isabelle Ellwein finished with 15 points. Isabella Shreeve tallied 14 points, while Heaven Gainey added seven points.

Jillian Delzer led the Raiders with 17 points, while Macey Wathen scored 12 points. Taaliyah Porter finished with 11 points, while Bailee Sobczak tallied 10 points and 10 rebounds. Jayda McNabb added seven points and 10 rebounds.


Rapid City Central 59, Mitchell 23

RAPID CITY — Class AA No. 5 Rapid City Central had three players score in double figures as they raced past Mitchell for a girls basketball win on Saturday.

Josie Hill led the Cobblers with 18 points, while Sadie Glade tallied 14 points. Wicahpi Cuny scored 10 points, while Aaliyah Jones added seven points.

Mitchell was led by Lauren Van Overschelde with eight points, while Sarah Sebert added five points and five steals.
