Hanson 68, Sanborn Central/Woonsocket 39 

ALEXANDRIA — Hanson pulled away from Sanborn Central/Woonsocket for a Region 5A girls basketball win on Tuesday. Hanson plays at No. 1 Wagner on Thursday.

Hanson’s Annalyse Weber finished with 24 points and five assists. Alyssa Moschell added 15 points, seven rebounds and five assists. Eliza Oltmanns logged 10 points and six boards. Karlie Goergen had six rebounds. 

SCW’s Liz Boschee finished with 14 points, while Trinity Boschee added 10 points. Trista White added six rebounds and four assists. Teya Moody dished out five assists.

Parkston 45, Bon Homme 42 (OT)

PARKSTON — Parkston outlasted Bon Homme in a Region 5A overtime girls basketball game on Tuesday. Parkston hosts Mount Vernon/Plankinton on Thursday.

Gracie Oakley’s 3-pointer with 11 seconds left in overtime lifted Parkston to the win. Abby Hohn led the Trojans with 21 points, five rebounds and three assists. Faith Oakley added eight points and 10 rebounds. Brielle Bruening had seven points and three rebounds. 

Bon Homme’s Erin Heusinkveld recorded 20 points and eight boards. Olivia Bures logged eight points and 11 rebounds, while Kenadee Kozak posted 10 rebounds and six points. 


Mount Vernon/Plankinton 57, Andes Central/Dakota Christian 48

PLANKINTON — Emilee Fox and Maria Baker combined for 52 points to lift Mount Vernon/Plankinton to a Region 5A girls basketball win over Andes Central/Dakota Christian on Tuesday. MVP plays Parkston on Thursday in Parkston.

Fox led the Titans with 32 points, while Baker added 20 points. 

ACDC’s Isabella Brouwer finished with 21 points and four steals, while Allison Muckey added 12 points and five rebounds. Halle Olson collected 10 boards and Lexie VanderPol grabbed six rebounds. 


De Smet 81, Iroquois/Doland 50

DE SMET — Kennadi Buchholz powered De Smet to a Region 3B girls basketball win over Iroquois/Doland on Tuesday. The Bulldogs play James Valley Christian on Thursday at the Huron Arena. 

Buchholz finished with 35 points and 18 rebounds, while she also became De Smet’s all-time leading scorer. Jada Burke recorded 25 points and Emma Albrecht added seven points.

Iroquois/Doland’s Katie Dubro netted 22 points and Harley Nelson scored nine points. 


White River 60, New Underwood 31

WHITE RIVER — Maleighya Estes and Kelsey Morrison combined for 35 points to lift White River to a Region 7B girls basketball win over New Underwood on Tuesday. White River hosts Jones County on Thursday in the next round. 

Estes led the Tigers with 18 points, four assists and four rebounds. Morrison added 17 points, eight assists and seven rebounds. 


Corsica-Stickney 66, Kimball/White Lake 28 

CORSICA — Corsica-Stickney jumped out to a 21-5 first-quarter lead and picked up a Region 6B girls basketball win over Kimball/White Lake on Tuesday. The Jaguars will play the Gregory/Wessington Springs winner on Saturday at the Corn Palace. 

Avery Broughton led the Jaguars with 31 points, eight rebounds and three assists. Rachel Gerlach finished with 10 points and four rebounds. Payton DeLange logged nine points, while Morgan Clites added seven points and seven assists. Casey Tolsma had five rebounds and four points. Corsica-Stickney coach Lorisa Broughton also recorded her 300th career coaching win. 

KWL’s Kate Havlik logged 16 points, while Ryann Nielsen had seven points and eight rebounds. Dani Deffenbaugh finished with seven rebounds. 


Bridgewater-Emery 59, Oldham-Ramona/Rutland 47

EMERY — Bridgewater-Emery pulled away from Oldham-Ramona/Rutland for a Region 4B girls basketball win on Tuesday. The Huskies will play Ethan on Thursday in Madison.

Julia Weber logged 20 points and five steals. Casey Meyer added 14 points and four assists. Taylor Schallenkamp recorded a double-double with 12 points, 14 rebounds and collected four steals. 


Colman-Egan 59, Canistota 25

COLMAN — Colman-Egan used a 20-2 first quarter to pull away from Canistota for a Region 4B girls basketball win on Tuesday. Colman-Egan plays Howard on Thursday at Madison High School.  

Mackenzie Hemmer recorded 22 points, 11 rebounds, and four assists, while Brynlee Landis tallied 12 points, five rebounds, and four assists. Lanie Mousel added nine points and three steals. 

Canistota’s Kayla Papendick scored 10 points and six rebounds.


Freeman 39, Scotland 32

CENTERVILLE — Freeman outlasted Scotland for a Region 5B girls basketball win on Tuesday. Freeman plays Centerville on Thursday.

Erin Uecker finished with a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds, while Kate Miller added nine points and seven rebounds.

Scotland’s Delanie VanDriel scored 11 points and eight rebounds, while Jenna Vitek added eight points.


Centerville 35, Menno 23

CENTERVILLE — Centerville pulled away from Menno for a Region 5B girls bask etball win on Tuesday. Centerville will play Freeman on Thursday.

Mackenzie Meyer scored 10 points, while Keira Austin tallied six points. MIkayla Heesch and Sophie Eide each added five points.

Menno’s Grace Nusz scored eight points, while Ashton Massey added six points.


Viborg-Hurley 56, Gayville-Volin 39

HURLEY — Three players scored in double-figures as Viborg-Hurley raced past Gayville-Volin for a Region 5B girls basketball win on Tuesday. Viborg-Hurley will play Irene-Wakonda on Thursday.

Denae Mach scored 16 points and five rebounds, while Coral Mason tallied 13 points, 12 rebounds, and five steals. Shelby Lyons recorded 11 points, while Delana Mach added seven points and 10 rebounds.

GV’s Molly Larson scored 16 points and Taylor Hoxeng added eight points and eight rebounds.


Irene-Wakonda 53, Alcester-Hudson 30

HURLEY — Three players scored in double-figures as Irene-Wakonda cruised past Alcester-Hudson for a Region 5B girls basketball win on Tuesday. Irene-Wakonda will play Viborg-Hurley on Thursday.

The Eagles were led by Nora O’Malley with 20 points and four steals, while Emma Marshall tallied 15 points, five rebounds, and four steals. Madison Orr scored 10 points and five boards. Katie Knodel added six points.

Alcester-Hudson’s Elly Doering scored 12 points and 12 rebounds, while Alexis Gray added eight points. Ella Serck grabbed 11 rebounds.


Howard 60, Dell Rapids St. Mary 46

HOWARD — Howard outlasted Dell Rapids St. Mary for a Region 4B girls basketball win on Tuesday. Howard will play Colman-Egan on Thursday at Madison High School.

Abby Asleson led the Tigers with 17 points, 14 rebounds, while Kate Connor tallied 15 points and seven rebounds. Trinity Palmquist scored 13 points, while Rylee Rudebusch added seven points.

The Cardinals were led by Ella Griffin with 18 points, while Madala Hanson scored 10 points. Addyson Gilbert added seven points and seven rebounds.


James Valley Christian 49, Wolsey-Wessington 44

WOLSEY — James Valley Christian edged Wolsey-Wessington to pick up a Region 3B girls basketball win on Tuesday. JVC will play De Smet on Thursday at the Huron Arena.

JVC’s Karilyn Wieting recorded 19 points, while Brenna Held scored 10 points. Alexa Goertz added nine points.

Wolsey-Wessington’s Hailey Clarke scored 20 points, while Leah Williams tallied 10 points.


Arlington 39, Estelline/Hendricks 25

ARLINGTON — Three players scored in double figures to lift Arlington to a Region 3B girls basketball win over Estelline/Hendricks on Tuesday. Arlington plays Castlewood on Thursday at the Huron Arena.

Harley Johnson scored 18 points, while Arlington’s Hadley Carlson finished with 11 points and 13 rebounds. Addalyn Steffensen added 10 points, five assists and four steals. 

Estelline/Hendricks’ Sadie Johnson, Kate Wegner and Kenzy Beare scored six points apiece. Beare added seven rebounds, while Brooke Johnson had five boards. Heide Nicola had five points and five rebounds. 


Flandreau 67, Elkton-Lake Benton 32

FLANDREAU — Four players scored in double figures to power Flandreau to a Region 2A girls basketball win over Elkton-Lake Benton on Tuesday. Flandreau plays the Deubrook Area/Deuel winner in the next round. 

Flandreau’s Lizzie Pavlis finished with 18 points and nine rebounds. Claire Sheppard added 17 points, eight rebounds and eight steals. Bella Pavlis posted 13 points, while Maria Parsley had 11 points and six boards. Lily Klein recorded seven steals and five assists. 

ELB’s Tevan Erickson scored 16 points. 


Tri-Valley 53, McCook Central/Montrose 49 

COLTON — Tri-Valley held off McCook Central/Montrose for a Region 3A girls basketball win on Tuesday. Tri-Valley plays West Central on Thursday.

Lauren Grinde scored 16 points, while Paige Jewett netted 15 points. Ava Pearson scored 10 points. 

MCM’s Ashtyn Wobig scored 28 points and Michaela McCormick had 16 points. 


Garretson 52, Madison 21

GARRETSON — Garretson coasted to a Region 3A girls basketball win over Madison on Tuesday. Garretson plays Sioux Falls Christian on Thursday.

Garretson’s Jaelyn Benson finished with 12 points, while Jordyn Williams had 11 points and six steals. Sydney Olson and Lily Ranschau had eight and seven points, respectively. Logan Bly grabbed eight rebounds and Anna Jones added six boards. 


Dakota Valley 56, Parker 30 

NORTH SIOUX CITY — Rylee Rosenquist and Peyton Tritz combined for 35 points to lift Dakota Valley to a Region 4A girls basketball win over Parker on Tuesday. Dakota Valley plays Lennox on Thursday.

Rosenquist finished with 19 points and 11 rebounds, while Tritz had 16 points and seven rebounds. Rosenquist also had four steals and three assists. 

Parker’s Anna Reiffenberger finished with eight points and Ellie Travnicek added seven points. Janae Olson added 10 rebounds. 


Lennox 50, Canton 45

LENNOX — Lennox edged Canton for a Region 4A girls basketball win on Tuesday, Lennox plays Dakota Valley on Thursday in the next round.

Lennox’s Andie Peters finished with 17 points, while Dani Highum logged 13 points. 

Canton’s Laken Meister added 10 points. 


Harrisburg 53, Watertown 50

HARRISBURG — Harrisburg nipped Watertown in girls basketball action on Tuesday. 

Harrisburg’s Emilee Boyer scored 26 points and 16 rebounds, while Jaylee Hofer had 14 points. 

Watertown’s Jaida Young netted 15 points.

Mitchell 59, Brandon Valley 46

MITCHELL — Mitchell captured the Eastern South Dakota Conference boys basketball title with a win over Brandon Valley on Tuesday.

Caden Hinker powered the Kernels with 19 points, while Dylan Soulek added 15 points. Steele Morgan scored 10 points and Gavin Soukup added eight points. Aiden Meyers finished with five points. 

Brandon Valley’s Dylan Langerock scored 13 points and Lukas Morgan added 11 points. Nate Vandeberg had six points. 


Sioux Falls Jefferson 64, Pierre 54

PIERRE — Three players scored in double figures as Sioux Falls Jefferson knocked off Pierre for a boys basketball win on Tuesday.

Kaden Year led the Cavaliers with 20 points, while Griffin Wilde added 15 points. Taylen Ashley scored 13 points and Beau Giblin had seven points.

Pierre’s Jackson Edman finished with 13 points and five rebounds. Lincoln Kienholz added 12 points, while Matthew Hanson had nine points. Christian Busch logged seven points. 


Sioux Falls Washington 68, Sioux Falls Lincoln 65

SIOUX FALLS — Class AA No. 4 Sioux Falls Washington edged Class AA No. 5 Sioux Falls Lincoln for a boys basketball win on Tuesday. 

Mikele Kambalo led the Warriors with 25 points and five rebounds. Joe Uttecht added 13 points and four assists. Angok Akot added nine points, while Mandalla Mohamed had eight points. Zharic Sheppard scored six points. 

Lincoln’s Khalil Cisse scored 16 points and grabbed six rebounds. Elliot Whitney finished with 12 points and four rebounds. Caleb Hiatt and J.T. Rock scored 11 points apiece, while Rock grabbed nine boards. Gage Gohl recorded nine points and eight rebounds.
