Sioux Falls Lutheran 56, Colman-Egan 38

COLMAN — Sioux Falls Lutheran rolled past Colman-Egan for a boys basketball win Friday.

Kade Matthies led the Eagles with 14 points in the win, Sam Borg added 11 points, Drew Knobloch recorded 10 points while Rowen Becker netted eight points for the Eagles.

For CE, Caden Zwart tallied 17 points, Logan Claflin added eight points while Julian Allen recorded five points in the loss.


Avon 79, Burke 66

AVON — Five players scored in double figures to pace Avon over Burke in boys basketball action Friday.

Zander Fathke led the Pirates with 20 points, Al’Shamon Gunter added 18 points, eight rebounds and three steals, Dominic Doom netted 15 points and eight rebounds, Cale Cooper totaled 14 points and five boards while Grayson Ratzlaff had 10 points and three assists in the win.

Burke’s stats were not reported.


Lyman 90, Kimball/White Lake 31

KIMBALL — MJ Diehm and Dawsen Volmer combined for 39 points as Lyman defeated Kimball/White Lake in boys basketball action Friday.

Diehm finished with 22 points, Volmer had 17 points while Cole Kieffer recorded 10 points in the win.

For KWL, Colt Leiferman had nine points, Easton Nelson recorded seven points while Keaton Christensen had six points in the loss.


De Smet 69, Iroquois/Lake Preston 56

DE SMET — Grant Wilkinson powered Class B No. 2 De Smet to a boys basketball win on Friday.

Wilkinson finished with 34 points, 12 rebounds, four blocks and three steals. Noah Luethmers added 12 points and six rebounds. Carter Wilkinson had 11 points and three rebounds. Slayten Wilkinson added nine points and seven rebounds. 

For ILP, Lucas Peskey recorded 24 points, five rebounds and four 3-pointers. Ervin Carter had 11 points. Brycen Blue finished with 10 points and five rebounds. Carter Arbeiter totaled eight points and four rebounds. 


Leola/Frederick Area 61, Ipswich 35

IPSWICH — Leola/Frederick Area cruised to a boys basketball win over Ipswich Friday.

Winston Clark led the Titans with 18 points, Weston Thorpe added 11 points and five rebounds while Milo Sumption and Zander Hoffman each had six points in the win.

For Ipswich, Shay Knust tallied 15 points, four rebounds and three steals, Kyle Hettich recorded seven points, five rebounds and three steals while Josh Rausch added six points in the loss.


Milbank 62, Tiospa Zina 33

MILBANK — Lincoln Holscher and Sam Rick combined for 35 points in Milbank’s boys basketball win over Tiospa Zina Friday.

Holscher finished with 19 points and seven rebounds while Rick added 16 points, five boards and four assists. Jeter Scoular netted seven points, four rebounds and three assists while Layten Osowski had six points and four boards in the win.

For TZ, Jeffery Heminger had 12 points, four rebounds and two steals, Issac Rodlund added 10 points and three boards while Malaki Fast Horse recorded seven points, seven rebounds and two steals in the loss.


Groton Area 55, Aberdeen Christian 45

GROTON — Three players scored in double figures to power Class A No. 7 Groton Area to a boys basketball win over Class B No. 6 Aberdeen Christian on Friday.

Groton Area’s Ryder Johnson finished with 15 points, five rebounds and three assists. Gage Sippel added 13 points and seven boards. Becker Bosma had 11 points, six rebounds. five assists and three steals. Keegen Tracy and Easton Weber scored six points apiece. 

For Aberdeen Christian, Dylan Hofer and Brooks Jett scored 15 points apiece. Luke Kaiser had seven points.

 

Rapid City Central 66, Sioux Falls Jefferson 50

RAPID CITY --- Preston Yellow and Julius Duran combined for 57 points as Rapid City Central pulled away from Sioux Falls Jefferson in boys basketball action Friday.

Yellow finished with a game-high 29 points shooting 5-for-5 from 3-point range, adding five rebounds while Duran netted 28 points, hitting all five attempts from beyond the arc with six boards as well. Logan Soderlin recorded seven points and four rebounds for the Cobblers in the win.

For SFJ, Colby Nuttbrock had 16 points and three rebounds, Kuai Mayen added eight points, Jase Unzen, Beau Koerner and Easton Riley each had seven points while Tyson Tycz added five points in the loss.

 

Feb. 27 Girls Basketball Roundup

Sioux Falls Jefferson 67, Rapid City Central 57

RAPID CITY --- Brinley Altenburg's 29-point burst powered Sioux Falls Jefferson to a girls basketball win over Rapid City Central Friday.

Altenburg finished with 29 points and four steals, Abby Horner added 15 points, Ayleah Johnson recorded 10 points while Macy Bryant added six points in the win.

For RCC, Leah Landry had a team-high 26 points, five rebounds and three steals, Colee Kruse collected 13 points and three rebounds, Olivia Pierce added nine points while Chloe Shreve netted six points and two steals in the loss.
