White River 81, Wall 49

WHITE RIVER — Joe Sayler poured in 38 points to power Class B No. 2 White River to a boys basketball win over Wall on Thursday.

Sayler added seven 3-pointers and nine rebounds. Kendrell Cuevas recorded 15 points, while Dylan Marshall and Nicolas Marshall scored 10 points apiece. Nicolas Marshall added seven rebounds and 10 assists. Gavin Folkers finished with six points.

Wall’s Reid Hansen finished with 12 points and six rebounds, while Cedar Amiotte scored 11 points. Brodi Sundall finished with 10 points. 


Mount Vernon/Plankinton 53, Hanson 50

MOUNT VERNON — Zach Baker’s 3-pointer with four seconds left propelled Mount Vernon/Plankinton to a boys basketball win over Hanson on Thursday. 

Reed Rus led the Titans with 27 points, four steals and four assists. Mason Hetland added 10 points, while Baker finished with nine points. Jordan Stoltz added seven rebounds.

Hanson’s Noah Price posted 21 points, while Luke Haiar added 12 points. 


Sioux Valley 55, Flandreau 47

VOLGA — Class A No. 4 Sioux Valley had three players score in double figures as it defeated Class A No. 5 Flandreau in a boys basketball game on Thursday.

Hayden Ruesink poured in 27 points and three steals, while Oliver Vincent tallied 14 points, five assists, and three steals. Damian Danzeisen added 10 points.

Flandreau’s Tash Lunday scored 18 points, eight rebounds, and four assists, while Chase LeBrun chipped in 16 points and six rebounds.


Dakota Valley 68, Elk Point-Jefferson 54

NORTH SIOUX CITY — Isaac Bruns’ double-double helped lead Class A No. 1 Dakota Valley to a boys basketball win over Elk Point-Jefferson on Thursday.

Bruns finished with 26 points and 12 rebounds, while Brayden Major tallied 11 points. Randy Rosenquist recorded 10 points and nine assists and Jaxson Wingert added six points and six boards.

No stats were reported for Elk Point-Jefferson.


Cheyenne-Eagle Butte 81, Crow Creek 64

EAGLE BUTTE — Rance Harrison erupted for 41 points to power Cheyenne-Eagle Butte to a boys basketball win over Crow Creek on Thursday. 

Elijah Brewer added 16 points, while Kanon Keckler scored 12 points. Teysean Eaglestaff scored nine points. 

Crow Creek’s Caleb Flute finished with 21 points, while Talyn Comes Flying scored 14 points. Jeremiah Shields added 12 points and Lance Wind Jr., tossed in nine points. Nate Ross added six points. 


De Smet 65, Elkton-Lake Benton 45

DE SMET — Three players scored in double figures to power Class B No. 1 De Smet to a boys basketball win over Elkton-Lake Benton on Thursday. 

Damon Wilkinson led the Bulldogs with 18 points and nine rebounds, while Rett Osthus added 15 points, six assists and four rebounds. Kalen Garry logged 13 points and nine boards. Tory Holland recorded nine points and Blake Van Regenmorter grabbed five rebounds.

ELB’s Ryan Krog finished with 13 points. Logan Kuehl logged nine points, while Riley Hunter added seven points. Aiden Erickson and Miles Harming scored five points apiece. Isaac Jaacks collected nine rebounds. 

 

Wagner 84, Andes Central/Dakota Christian 57

LAKE ANDES — Dustin Honomichl’s monster double-double lifted Wagner to a boys basketball win over Andes Central/Dakota Christian on Thursday.

Honomichl led Wagner with 38 points and 13 boards. Toby Zephier added 16 points, while Chris Nelson added 13 points and seven rebounds. Matt Link grabbed seven rebounds.

ACDC’s Cameron Sybesma finished with 18 points and nine rebounds. Nolan Black Cloud logged 14 points, while Mason Olson had nine points and eight rebounds. Rizon Clark scored eight points and had four steals. Julius Bruguier grabbed five rebounds.

Howard 70, Mitchell Christian 46

HOWARD — Brayden Hinker and Luke Koepsell combined for 33 points to pace Howard to a boys basketball win over Mitchell Christian on Thursday. 

Hinker finished with 18 points and hit four 3-pointers. Koepsell added 15 points, while Jace Sifore scored nine points. Ryder Erickson and Will Maier scored eight points apiece. Taiden Hoyer added five points. 

Mitchell Christian’s Aiden Lieber scored 11 points and Braedon Nebelsick scored nine points. Anders Enga added six points. 


Dell Rapids St. Mary 62, Lake Preston 31

LAKE PRESTON — Four players scored in double figures as Dell Rapids St. Mary cruised past Lake Preston in a boys basketball game on Thursday.

Ty Brown scored 17 points, while Dylan Mathis recorded 14 points. John Pica tallied 11 points and Nic Gaspar netted 10 points. C.J. Smith added seven points.

For Lake Preston, Josh McMasters and Riley Casper each scored nine points, while Jake Larsen tallied seven points. Jonah Denison grabbed eight boards.


Platte-Geddes 68, Kimball/White Lake 47 

PLATTE — Class B No. 1 Platte-Geddes picked up a 21-point boys basketball win over Kimball/White Lake on Thursday.

Platte-Geddes’ senior Caden Foxley scored his 1,000th career point in the win. 


Madison 61, Beresford 31

BERESFORD — Four players scored in double figures to pace Madison to a boys basketball win over Beresford on Thursday. 

Aspen Dahl led the Bulldogs with 15 points, while Trey Smith scored 11 points. Aiden Jensen and Ben Brooks scored 10 points apiece. Mickale Dohrer and Nate Ricke added six points each.

Beresford’s Tate VanOtterloo scored 11 points and Andrew Atwood added six points. 


Milbank 60, Britton-Hecla 33

MILBANK — Three players scored in double figures to pace Milbank to a boys basketball win over Britton-Hecla on Thursday. 

Bennett Schwenn led the Bulldogs with 19 points, six rebounds and four assists. Stevie Ash added 15 points and four rebounds. Garrett Mertens logged 10 points and five boards. Wylie Mursu posted six rebounds, four points and four assists. 

Britton-Hecla’s Aidan Fredrickson finished with 12 points and seven rebounds. Ashton Minus logged six points. 


Great Plains Lutheran 54, Wilmot 47

WILMOT — Great Plains Lutheran held off Wilmot for a boys basketball win on Thursday.

GPL’s Ethan Kjenstad logged 23 points and Sam Hansen scored 17 points. Connor Kannas added six points. 

Wilmot’s Trey Jurgens scored a game-high 30 points, while Brayden Ebben scored nine points. 


Burke 78, Marty 54

BURKE — Three players scored in double-figures as Burke pulled away from Marty for a boys basketball win on Thursday.

Ben Witt scored 26 points and 10 assists, while Bryce Frank tallied 18 points, five rebounds, and six assists. Brogan Glover added 15 points, while Nick Nelson grabbed 11 boards.

For Marty, Lawrence Rouse scored 19 points.


Ipswich 61, Miller 45

IPSWICH — Ipswich led 33-15 at halftime en route to a boys basketball win over Miller on Thursday. 

Taylor Thorson led the Tigers with 21 points and seven rebounds. Ian Beyers added 10 points, six rebounds and five assists. Trevor Beyers posted nine points and four assists. Carter Geditz had seven points and four rebounds, while Ty Kadlec finished with six points and four steals. 

Miller’s Dylan Hass finished with 11 points and three rebounds, while Trevor Werdel posted 10 points and eight rebounds. Caden Gortmaker finished with nine points and four rebounds. Alex Schumacher tallied eight points, five rebounds and five steals. Cole McKinstry scored seven points. 


Freeman 41, Alcester-Hudson 39 

FREEMAN — Freeman used a 14-11 fourth quarter to edge Alcester-Hudson in a boys basketball contest on Thursday. 

Freeman’s Tate Sorensen finished with 12 points, while Bradey Kaufman scored nine points and grabbed six rebounds. Justin Wollman added seven points and 11 rebounds, while Rocky Ammann added six points. Ethan Balvin finished with five points and nine rebounds. 

Alcester-Hudson’s Jose Topete-Lopez finished with 13 points and seven rebounds. Dominic Van Egdom posted five points and 11 rebounds. Mateo Kleinhans had seven points and four rebounds. 


Estelline/Hendricks 68, Colman-Egan 54

ESTELLINE — Dawson Bury and Braxton Saathoff combined for 45 points to lead Estelline/Hendricks to a boys basketball win over Colman-Egan on Thursday.

Bury finished with 25 points, seven rebounds, and three steals, while Saathoff tallied 20 points. Joe McAninch recorded 10 points and 15 rebounds, while Mattix Hausman dished out 11 assists.

CE’s Ben Zwart scored 15 points and Antonio Manzano added 13 points.

 

Aberdeen Christian 48, Northwestern 44 

ABERDEEN — Class B No. 4 Aberdeen Christian rallied past Northwestern for a boys basketball win on Thursday.

Malek Wieker led the Knights with 22 points, while Ethan Russell scored 10 points. Kaden Clark added six points, 10 rebounds and four assists.

Quintin Fischbach tossed in 23 points and hit seven 3-pointers.  


Warner 55, Leola/Frederick Area 42

WARNER — Warner held off Leola/Frederick Area for a boys basketball win on Thursday. 

Leola/Frederick Area’s Ethan Morlock scored 12 points, while Noah Kippley added 11 points.

White River 56, Wall 47 

WHITE RIVER — Maleighya Estes tossed in 33 points to lift Class B No. 3 White River over Wall for a girls basketball win on Thursday.

Karlie Cameron, Kelsey Morrison and Lilly Krogman added five points apiece. 

Wall’s Ava Dinger scored a team-high 13 points, while Paige Kjerstad and Nora Dinger scored 11 points apiece. Keaunna Poor Bear scored six points. 


Mount Vernon/Plankinton 51, Hanson 38

MOUNT VERNON — Mount Vernon/Plankinton held off Hanson for a girls basketball win on Thursday. 

Maria Baker led the Titans with 21 points, while Emilee Fox added 13 points. Reagan Rus scored 10 points.

Hanson’s Alyssa Weber scored 10 points and Alyssa Moschell netted eight points. 


Miller 46, Ipswich 19

MILLER — Miller raced past Ipswich for a girls basketball win on Thursday.

Tyra Gates recorded eight points, six assists, and four steals, while Jaden Werdel and Ally Mullaney each scored seven points.

For Ipswich, Katie Bierman scored eight points and three assists.


Howard 68, Mitchell Christian 26

HOWARD — Howard cruised past Mitchell Christian in a girls basketball game on Thursday.

Kate Connor scored 18 points, while Abby Aslesen recorded a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds. Trinity Palmquist tallied eight points, four assists, and five steals, and Jayden Jaynes added seven points.

Mitchell Christian’s Audrey Hofer scored 21 points.


Wagner 74, Andes Central/Dakota Christian 46

LAKE ANDES — Lydia Yost and Shalayne Nagel combined for 42 points to power Class A No. 1 Wagner to a girls basketball win over Wagner on Thursday.

Yost finished with 22 points, while Nagel added 20 points, five rebounds and five steals. Emma Yost posted 11 points and seven rebounds. Macy Koupal grabbed six rebounds. Eve Zephier and Ashlyn Koupal dished out five assists apiece. 

ACDC’s Josie Brouwer scored 21 points, while Allison Muckey added 13 points. Halle Olson finished with seven rebounds. Lexie VanderPol and Nadia VanZuidam added five rebounds apiece.

 

Aberdeen Christian 55, Northwestern 33

ABERDEEN — Class B No. 5 Aberdeen christian picked up a 22-point girls basketball win over Northwestern on Thursday.

Mallory Miller led the Knights with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Kaylee Block, Hanna Miller and Grace Kaiser scored eight points apiece.

Northwestern’s Faith Larson scored 12 points. 


Aberdeen Roncalli 53, Clark/Willow Lake 25

ABERDEEN — Class B No. 1 Aberdeen Roncalli downed Clark/Willow Lake in girls basketball action on Thursday.

Madelyn Bragg led the Cavaliers with 13 points, while Morgan Fiedler added 11 points. Olivia Hanson and Ella Hanson scored 10 points and seven points, respectively. 

CWL’s Alicia Vig finished with 11 points.  


Highmore-Harrold 58, Lyman 53

PRESHO — Highmore-Harrold held off Lyman for a girls basketball win on Thursday.

Skyler Volmer led Lyman with 20 points, 12 rebounds and five assists. Mak Scott added 13 points and 10 rebounds. Annie Brakke posted 11 points and four rebounds, while Ellie Erikson finished with seven points and four rebounds. 


Dakota Valley 58, Elk Point-Jefferson 38

NORTH SIOUX CITY — Three players scored in double-figures as Dakota Valley picked up a girls basketball win over Elk Point-Jefferson on Thursday.

Rylee Rosenquist scored 18 points, 10 assists, eight rebounds, and five steals, while Peyton Tritz tallied 17 points and seven rebounds. Jorja VanDenHul added 10 points.

For EPJ, Courtney Brewer scored 11 points.


Deuel 44, Tiospa Zina 31

CLEAR LAKE — Haley Winter and Josie Andersen combined for 38 points and 22 rebounds to lift Deuel to a girls basketball win on Thursday. 

Winter finished with 16 points and 16 rebounds, while Andersen added 12 points and six boards. 

Tiospa Zina’s Kennadee Bissonette finished with 13 points and Alexia Quinn put in nine points. 


Platte-Geddes 37, Scotland 35

SCOTLAND — Platte-Geddes edged Scotland in a girls basketball game on Thursday.

Cadence Van Zee scored nine points and four rebounds, while Hadley Hanson and Karly VanDerWerff each tallied eight points. VanDerWerff also grabbed 12 rebounds.

Scotland’s Martina DeBoer scored 11 points, while Bailey Vitek tallied nine points and Audrey Sayler added seven points and 10 boards.


Centerville 67, Flandreau Indian 9

FLANDREAU — Four players scored in double-figures as Centerville raced past Flandreau Indian in a girls basketball game on Thursday.

Thea Gust scored 13 points, while Lillie Eide tallied 12 points. Keira Austin and MaKayla Heesch each added 11 points.

Flandreau Indian’s Vivica Blacksmith scored five points.
