Boys basketball 

De Smet 46, Flandreau 32

DE SMET — Class B No. 1 De Smet used a 14-4 third quarter to pull away from Class A No. 5 Flandreau in a boys basketball game on Tuesday.

Kalen Garry led all scorers with 15 points, nine rebounds, four assists, and two steals. Tory Holland and Damon Wilkinson scored 11 points apiece. Wilkinson also grabbed eight boards.

Flandreau was led by Tash Lunday with 14 points, 12 rebounds, and four assists. Liam Streitz netted 11 points and eight rebounds. 


Huron 53, Pierre 52

HURON — Blake Ellwein’s three-pointer with 1.6 seconds left lifted Huron to a boys basketball win over Pierre on Tuesday.

Ellwein finished with nine points, while Max Kranzler led the Tigers with 16 points. Brandon Decker added 12 points and seven boards.

Pierre’s Lincoln Kienholz led all scorers with 21 points, while Jackson Edman added 14 points.


Mitchell 69, Aberdeen Central 62

MITCHELL — Class AA No. 4 Mitchell outlasted Class AA No. 5 Aberdeen Central for a boys basketball win on Tuesday. 

Caden Hinker powered the Kernels with 30 points and six 3-pointers. 

Aberdeen Central’s Sam Rohlfs finished with 20 points. 


Winner 78, St. Francis Indian 35

ST. FRANCIS — Four players scored in double figures to lift Class A No. 3 Winner to a boys basketball win over St. Francis Indian on Tuesday. 

Blake Volmer led the Warriors with 20 points, eight rebounds and six assists. Ethan Bartels added 16 points, while Shawn Hammerbeck added 10 points. Slade Cournoyer and Jackson Vesely finished with seven points, while Cournoyer had six assists. Elijah Peterson posted five points. 

St. Francis’ Drake Young scored 16 points. Darin Arcoren Jr., had six points, while Cante Kills In Water grabbed five boards. 

 

Cheyenne-Eagle Butte 78, McLaughlin 57

EAGLE BUTTE — Rance Harrison and Elijah Brewer combined for 51 points to place Cheyenne-Eagle Butte to a boys basketball win over McLaughlin on Tuesday.

Harrison poured in 34 points, while Brewer netted 17 points. Nashon LeBeau added seven points, while Kanon Keckler scored seven points. Teysean Eaglestaff scored five points.

McLaughlin’s Lane Lawrence tossed in 19 points, while Elias Sims scored 15 points. Jre Antelope finished with 13 points and Renzo Bull Head scored six points.


Dakota Valley 79, Vermillion 57

NORTH SIOUX CITY — Four players scored in double figures as Class A No. 1 Dakota Valley raced past Vermillion in a boys basketball game on Tuesday.

Isaac Bruns scored 27 points and 14 rebounds, while Jaxon Hennies recorded 14 points. Sam Faldmo tallied 13 points, while Randy Rosenquist added a triple-double of 12 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists.

No stats were reported for Vermillion.


Viborg-Hurley 68, Parker 66

HURLEY — Viborg-Hurley held off Parker for a boys basketball win on Tuesday.

Hayden Gilbert and Blake Schroedermeier each scored 23 points, while Schroedermeier also grabbed 13 rebounds. Byron Osterloo and Gage Goettertz each added six points.

Parker’s Carter Robertson scored a game-high 30 points, while Landri Holzworth recorded 13 points and 12 rebounds. Davin Fuller and Jaivyn DeBoer each added 10 points.


Sioux Valley 64, Deuel 35

CLEAR LAKE — Class A No. 4 Sioux Valley pulled away from Deuel for a boys basketball win on Tuesday. 

Oliver Vincent led the Cossacks with 16 points and nine assists. Hayden Ruesink added 11 points and four boards. Damian Danzeisen recorded 10 points and five steals. Dylen Milton, Carson Christopherson and Alec Squires scored nine points apiece. Parker Puetz grabbed seven boards. 

Deuel’s Cooper Schienbeck had nine points, five assists and four rebounds. Naethan Lovre recorded eight points, while Gavin Benck posted seven points and four rebounds. Dravyn Carlson and Trey Maaland had six and five points, respectively. 


Hanson 77, Freeman 19

ALEXANDRIA — Hanson cruised past Freeman in a boys basketball game on Tuesday.

Noah Price scored 22 points, while Kade Waldera tallied 12 points. Luke Haiar netted eight points, while Ethan Cheeseman recorded six rebounds, four assists, and three steals.

Freeman’s Jacob Swenson and Evan Scharberg scored six points apiece.


Hamlin 56, Clark/Willow Lake 54

WILLOW LAKE — Hamlin outlasted Clark/Willow Lake for a boys basketball win on Tuesday. 

Tyson Stevenson led the Chargers with 17 points, while Brennan Keszler scored 12 points. Easton Neuendorf added 11 points and Dawson Noem recorded eight points. Rylan Bawdon had five points.

CWL’s Brady Jordan scored a team-high 17 points, while Noah Boykin tossed in 14 points. Trey Huber finished with 10 points. Kaplan Felberg added seven points. 


Wolsey-Wessington 50, Wessington Springs 49

WESSINGTON SPRINGS — Wolsey-Wessington edged Wessington Springs in a boys basketball game on Tuesday.

Payson Gohn scored 14 points and eight rebounds, while Carson Zomer netted 13 points. Tate French chipped in 11 points and 14 rebounds, while Blaze Herdman added nine points and eight assists.

The Spartans were led by Mason Schelske with 21 points and six rebounds. Blake Larson and Brock Krueger each scored seven points. Larson also grabbed eight boards. A.J. Neely and Cade Mohling added six points apiece.


Canistota 62, Menno 29

MENNO — Three players scored in double figures as Canistota raced past Menno in a boys basketball game on Tuesday.

Brandon Kjetland scored 18 points, while Isiah Robertson recorded 15 points and Tage Ortman netted 12 points.

Menno’s Tyler Massey scored nine points and Hayden McNinch added eight points and eight rebounds.


Aberdeen Christian 61, Ipswich 47

IPSWICH — Four players scored in double figures as Class B No. Aberdeen Christian picked up a boys basketball win over Ipswich on Tuesday.

Ethan Russell recorded a double-double of 17 points and 13 rebounds. Jackson Isakson scored 16 points and five assists, while Andrew Brennan tallied 11 points. Malek Wieker added 10 points and six assists.

Ipswich’s Taylor Thorson scored 15 points and nine rebounds, while Trevor Beyers netted nine points. Carter Geditz tallied eight points. Ty Kadlec and Ian Beyers added seven and six points, respectively.


Waverly-South Shore 59, Lake Preston 17

LAKE PRESTON — Waverly-South Shore cruised past Lake Preston for a boys basketball win on Tuesday.

Carter Comes scored 16 points, while Troy Kneeland netted 14 points. Landon Maag chipped in eight points.

Lake Preston’s Riley Casper scored six points.


Waubay/Summit 67, Estelline/Hendricks 57

ESTELLINE — Waubay/Summit used a 17-6 third quarter to come from behind and pick up a boys basketball win over Estelline/Hendricks on Tuesday.

Jonathan Johnston scored 18 points, while Damon Opdahl tallied 17 points and J Gulbraa added 11 points.

The Redhawks were led by Lorenzo Iotti with 18 points and eight rebounds. Braxton Saathoff netted 16 points, while Joe McAninch added 11 points and seven rebounds.


Milbank 67, Sisseton 42

SISSETON — Three players scored in double figures to lead Milbank to a boys basketball win over Sisseton on Tuesday. 

Garrett Mertens finished with 16 points and five rebounds. Justus Osborn and Stevie Ash scored 11 points apiece, while Ash added five steals. Wylie Mursu tossed in six points and dished out five assists. Joe Schulte had seven points, while Bennett Schwenn and Kellen Hoeke had six points apiece. Schwenn dished out four assists. 

Sisseton’s Riley Brave Bull scored 19 points, while Ty Langager added 11 points and seven rebounds. Jason Fisher finished with eight points and five rebounds. 


Dell Rapids 80, Mount Vernon/Plankinton 68

MOUNT VERNON — Dell Rapids picked up a boys basketball win over Mount Vernon/Plankinton on Tuesday.

Dell Rapids’ Brayden Pankonen netted 31 points, while Jack Henry added 25 points. Camden Justice scored 10 points. 

MVP was led by Reed Rus with 31 points and eight rebounds, while Mason Hetland recorded 20 points and seven rebounds. Jordan Stoltz tallied eight points and nine rebounds and Blaine Bohr added seven points.


Madison 56, McCook Central/Montrose 44

SALEM — Aiden Jensen’s double-double helped lead Madison to a boys basketball win over McCook Central/Montrose on Tuesday.

Jensen finished with 21 points and 12 rebounds, while Mickale Dohrer scored 10 points. Ben Brooks tallied eight points and Aspen Dahl added seven points.

MCM’s Boston Katzer scored 12 points, while Cody Miles tallied 10 points. Gavin Gordan and Owen Alley added seven points apiece.


Canton 64, Centerville 48

CENTERVILLE — Three players scored in double figures as Canton raced past Centerville in a boys basketball game on Tuesday.

Braxton Mulder scored 19 points and eight rebounds, while Payton Eben tallied 17 points. Derek Tieszen netted 12 points, while Matt Anderson grabbed eight rebounds.

Centerville’s Logan Bobzin scored 10 points and six rebounds, while Cole Edberg tallied nine points and six boards and Owen Hunter added eight points and four boards.


Highmore-Harrold 47, Hitchcock-Tulare 42

HITCHCOCK — Highmore-Harrold edged Hitchcock-Tulare in a boys basketball game on Tuesday.

Trake Cowan scored 10 points, while Peyton McDonnell tallied nine points. Justin Wieseler and Bryce Bourk added six points apiece.

The Patriots were led by Jackson Maynard with 17 points. T.J. Salmen and Erik Salmen scored seven and six points, respectively.

COLMAN — Trey Jurgens’ big performance pushed Wilmot past Colman-Egan in a boys basketball game on Tuesday.

Jurgens erupted for 41 points and seven rebounds, while Brayden Ebben added 17 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists.

CE’s Antonio Manzano scored 16 points and six rebounds, while Austin Gullickson tallied 11 points and Ben Zwart added eight points.

WINNER — Winner used a 22-6 third quarter to put away Todd County in girls basketball action on Tuesday. 

Bella Swedlund led the Warriors with 28 points, 11 rebounds and four steals. Kelsey Sachtjen recorded 19 points, 11 rebounds and seven steals. Jenna Hammberbeck added eight points, four assists and four steals. Ellie Brozik contributed six points, while Ava Craven had seven rebounds and four points. 

Todd County’s Alexis Walking Eagle finished with nine points and eight rebounds. Julise Shaw recorded seven points and five steals, while Kyleigh Patton added six points. Wiconi Uses Arrow had five points. 


Andes Central/Dakota Christian 66, Marty 28

LAKE ANDES — Andes Central/Dakota Christian jumped out to a 22-7 first-quarter lead and topped Marty in girls basketball action on Tuesday.

Allison Muckey led the ACDC with 14 points and eight rebounds. Josie Brouwer and Mahpiyah Irving scored 10 points apiece. Gabbie Olson scored eight points, while Lexie VanderPol posted 11 rebounds. Halle Olson had eight rebounds, while Leah Brown logged six rebounds. 

Marty’s Hawk Bair scored 20 points. 


Centerville 69, Canton 60

CENTERVILLE — Centerville held off Canton in a girls basketball game on Tuesday.

Mikayla Heesch poured in 21 points and four assists, while Lillie Eide chipped in 14 points, six rebounds, six assists, and five steals. Thea Gust tallied 12 points, six rebounds and Bailey Hansen added eight points and 11 rebounds.

Canton’s Shelbie Olseth recorded a game-high 25 points, while Amanda Lease tallied 13 points and five boards. Taryn Larson added eight points.


Aberdeen Christian 58, Ipswich 24

IPSWICH — Class B No. 5 Aberdeen Christian used a 23-0 first quarter to cruise past Ipswich in a girls basketball game on Tuesday.

Mallory Miller led all scorers with 21 points, eight rebounds, and four assists. Hanna Miller recorded seven points, six rebounds, eight assists, and three steals, while Joy Rohrbach also scored seven points.

Ipswich was led by Katie Bierman with 13 points. 

 

Mobridge-Pollock 69, Timber Lake 35

TIMBER LAKE -- Three players scored in double figures to lift Mobridge-Pollock to a girls basketball win over Timber Lake on Tuesday. 

Mariah Goehring finished with 19 points and five rebounds. Landyn Henderson added 18 points and 10 rebounds. Heidi Olson recorded 17 points, nine rebounds and four assists. 

Timber Lake's Carlie Lawrence scored 13 points, while Maci Maher added 10 points and six rebounds. McKenzi Vomacka recorded five points and six rebounds. Jasmine Nash grabbed seven boards. 


Viborg-Hurley 46, Parker 31

HURLEY — Denae Mach and Coral Mason combined for 33 points and Viborg-Hurley picked up a girls basketball win over Parker on Tuesday.

Mach finished with 18 points and seven rebounds, while Mason recorded 15 points, six rebounds, three assists, four steals, and three blocks. Estelle Lee added seven points.

For Parker, Janae Olson scored eight points, while Ellie Travnicek and Terryn Fuller each netted six points. Alexis Even added five points.


Hanson 78, Freeman 51

ALEXANDRIA — Four players scored in double figures as Hanson picked up a girls basketball win over Freeman on Tuesday.

Annalyse Weber netted a game-high 19 points and six assists, while Kate Haiar tallied 15 points. Eliza Oltmanns chipped in 11 points and Alyssa Moschell added 10 points.

Freeman’s Kate Miller scored 15 points and seven rebounds, while Cami Fransen and Ashlin Jacobsen recorded 14 and 13 points, respectively.

GETTYSBURG — Four players scored in double figures to lift Potter County to a girls basketball win over Faulkton Area on Tuesday. 

Tyler Simon led the Battlers with 19 points, while Ashlee Kaup had 12 points, seven rebounds and four steals. Zoe Meinke added 11 points and seven boards. Kayden Cronin tallied 10 points and 13 rebounds. Kirstie Lake added six points and five rebounds.

Faulkton Area’s Isabel Aesoph tossed in a game-high 33 points, while Shayna Heitman and Carley Cotton scored seven points apiece. Heitman added 10 rebounds. Teralyn Cramer collected five rebounds. Ashly Senn tallied four points and eight rebounds. 


Mount Vernon/Plankinton 63, Dell Rapids 33

MOUNT VERNON — Emilee Fox and Maria Baker combined for 37 points to power Mount Vernon/Plankinton to a girls basketball win over Dell Rapids on Tuesday. 

Fox finished with 19 points, while Baker added 18 points.

Dell Rapids’ Allie De Stigter scored 18 points.

Howard 54, Canistota 35

CANISTOTA — Howard picked up a girls basketball win over Canistota on Tuesday.

Abby Aslesen scored 17 points and nine rebounds, while Trinity Palmquist and Kate Connor netted nine points apiece. Josephine Brok added eight points.

Canistota’s Kayla Papendick scored 22 points, while Sydnee Engbrecht added eight points.


Florence/Henry 44, Castlewood 42

CASTLEWOOD — Trinity Watson’s basket with 6.3 seconds left lifted Florence/Henry to a girls basketball win over Castlewood on Tuesday.

Watson finished with a game-high 29 points and seven rebounds, while Caylin Kelly added 13 points and seven rebounds.

Castlewood’s Maddie Horn scored 15 points, while Mackenzie Everson tallied 13 points. Presley Knecht added 11 points.


Sioux Valley 60, Deuel 27

CLEAR LAKE — Sioux Valley used a 15-1 first quarter to pull away from Deuel in a girls basketball game on Tuesday.

Julia Schneider scored 14 points, while Reagan Johnson tallied 11 points. Ashley Bjerke added 10 points.

Deuel’s Harley Hennings scored nine points, while Josie Anderson added five points and six boards.


Estelline/Hendricks 54, Waubay/Summit 27

ESTELLINE — Kate Wegner and Sadie Johnson combined for 33 points as Estelline/Hendricks rolled past Waubay/Summit for a girls basketball win on Tuesday.

Wegner scored 17 points, while Johnson contributed 16 points and five rebounds. Kenzy Beare added nine points and 10 rebounds.

The Mustangs were led by Eva Benike and Kailee Berger with nine points apiece. Tasha Zirbel added eight points.

BURKE — Bon Homme held off Burke for a girls basketball win on Tuesday. 

Jurni Vavruska led the Cavaliers with 20 points and four steals, while Jaden Kortan added 12 points and 10 boards. Erin Heusinkveld recorded 10 rebounds. 

Burke’s Kailee Frank finished with 14 points and four rebounds, while Adisyn Indahl added nine points and five rebounds.  


Mitchell 43, Aberdeen Central 27 

ABERDEEN — Mitchell pulled away from Aberdeen Central for a girls basketball win on Tuesday.

Lauren Van Overschelde led the Kernels with 14 points and five rebounds. Sawyer Stoebner logged 11 points, seven rebounds and five steals. Taylor Giblin and Sarah Sebert scored seven points apiece. Kaitlyn Christensen recorded six rebounds. 

Aberdeen Central’s Taryn Hermansen finished with nine points and nine rebounds. Kiana Mounga added six points, while Karly Wellman added five points. 


Dakota Valley 61, Vermillion 41

NORTH SIOUX CITY — Three players scored in double figures as Dakota Valley picked up a girls basketball win over Vermillion on Tuesday.

Rylee Rosenquist led all scorers with 20 points, four assists, and five steals. Grace Bass tallied 13 points, while Peyton Tritz added 10 points. Brooke Carlson grabbed 10 rebounds.

Vermillion’s Kelsey Hanson recorded 11 points, six rebounds, and three assists.


Sioux Falls Christian 71, Tri-Valley 39

COLTON — Four players scored in double figures as Sioux Falls Christian cruised past Tri-Valley for a girls basketball win on Tuesday.

Ellie Lems netted 15 points, while Rachel VanNieuwenhuyzen tallied 14 points. Kylah vanDonkersgoed chipped in 12 points, while Peyton Poppema added 10 points.

GARRETSON — Garretson raced past Beresford for a girls basketball win on Tuesday.

Mya Long, Jordyn Williams, and Lily Ranschau each scored 12 points, while Anna Jones added eight points.

Brooklyn Harpe scored 15 points, while Ndajakale Mwenentanda recorded 14 points and five rebounds. Taylor Thompson added nine points and nine rebounds.
