Brandon Valley 56, Sioux Falls Washington 53

SIOUX FALLS — Class AA No. 1 Brandon Valley outlasted Class AA No. 5 Sioux Falls Washington for a boys basketball win on Tuesday. 

Brandon Valley’s Landon Dulaney finished with 26 points and Briggs Knutson added 11 points. Brayden Miller and Aiden Zerr scored seven points apiece. 

For Washington, Tommy Hoffman tossed in 22 points and Benjamin Sprecher added 10 points. Lucas Johnson scored seven points, while Brennan VerHey and Sam Baskin added six points apiece. 


Freeman 76, Hanson 55

FREEMAN — David Walter and Tate Sorensen combined for 49 points in Freeman’s victory over Hanson Tuesday.

Sorensen led the Flyers with 28 points, nine rebounds, four assists and two steals, Walter added 21 points, nine rebounds and two steals, Luke Peters had 11 points and three assists while Tayden Kerrigan recorded nine points, five rebounds and four assists in the win.

Hanson’s Ben Wilber cracked a team-high 22 points and six rebounds, AJ Wilber added 15 points and seven boards, while Sutton Dewald tallied five points, five assists and three rebounds in the loss.


Groton Area 92, Leola/Frederick Area 65

GROTON — Groton Area coasted past Class B No. 4 Leola/Frederick Area for a boys basketball win on Tuesday.

Groton Area’s Ryder Johnson tossed in 26 points and hit three 3-pointers. Keegan Tracy added 17 points and Becker Bosma tallied 12 points. Karson Zak added 11 points, while Gage Sippel had eight points. Easton Weber and Turner Thompson scored six points apiece. 

Leola-Frederick’s Westyn Thorpe finished with 21 points and Noah Kippley added 14 points. Gavin Nickelson scored nine points. Ethan Petrich and Jace Thorpe scored five points apiece.


Spearfish 64, Sturgis 60

STURGIS — Four players scored in double figures to pace Spearfish to a boys basketball win on Tuesday.

Spearfish’s Dylon Doren scored 17 points, while Mason Southern and Kade Vavruska scored 12 points apiece. Bennett Kortan had 10 points and Kamren Davis added nine points.

For Sturgis, Ryan Heinert scored 23 points. Teigan Wormstadt and Hayden Rock scored 15 points apiece. 


Gayville-Volin 56, Freeman Academy-Marion 38

GAYVILLE — Spencer Karstens’ double-double powered Gayville-Volin to a high school boys basketball victory Tuesday.

Karstens finished with 28 points, 12 rebounds, five assists and three steals, Preston Karstens added 11 points and five boards while Nate Selchert and Carter Barron each had five points in the win.

FAM’s Elshadi Mesfin tallied 20 points and nine rebounds while Hunter Nankivel had six points and five rebounds in the loss.


Miller 63, Mount Vernon-Plankinton 51

MILLER — Isaak Hunter dropped 32 points in Miller’s victory over Mount Vernon-Plankinton Tuesday.

Hunter had 32 points, Will Resel tallied 13 points, Oliver Fritzsche added 12 points while Derek Brueggeman recorded six points in the win.

MVP’s Tyce Feistner poured in 25 points, Brady Fox tallied 10 points while Riley Mayer added eight points in the loss.

 

Aberdeen Christian 49, Ipswich 36

ABERDEEN — Three players scored in double figures during Aberdeen Christian’s victory over Ipswich Tuesday.

Dylan Hofer led the Knights with 16 points and seven rebounds, Grady Jett added 12 points, Brooks Jett tallied 10 points and seven rebounds, while Jett Johnson recorded six points in the win.

Ipswich’s Hayden Schlosser led with 12 points, Max Kulesa recorded 10 points and five boards, while Jaxon Holt and Tucker Kadlec each had five points and six rebounds in the loss.

 

Bridgewater-Emery 61, Avon 37

EMERY — Three players scored in double figures to pace Bridgewater-Emery to a boys basketball win on Tuesday. 

Holden Wollmann finished with 23 points, while Ben Weber added 17 points, eight rebounds, eight assists and seven steals. Macklen Weber totaled 12 points. 

For Avon, Aziah Meyer and Al'Shamon Gunter had 12 points apiece. Gunter added six rebounds.


Castlewood 77, Florence-Henry 43

FLORENCE — Three players scored in double figures to power Class B No. 2 Castlewood to a boys basketball win on Tuesday.

Brody Bass led the Warriors with 22 points and six 3-pointers. Jamison Keszler added 21 points, while Luke Baumberger posted 13 points. Bryon Laue added nine points and 17 rebounds. Kamden Keszler scored seven points.

For FH, Carson Vavruska scored 17 points and Ty Bergh added 12 points. Carson Kelly scored seven points and Logan Koll scored five points. 


Estelline-Hendricks 71, Waubay-Summit 42

SUMMIT — Wyat James’ 22-point game powered Estelline-Hendricks to a boys basketball victory Tuesday.

James finished with 22 points, Kyler Clarkson added 17 points, Matthew McAninch totaled 12 points while Cade Hexem had eight points in the win.

WS’s Hogan Hlavacek led with 17 points while Dylan Rumpza added 13 points in the loss.


De Smet 50, Flandreau 48 

FLANDREAU — Grant Wilkinson and Ganon Henrich combined for 35 points to power De Smet to a boys basketball win on Tuesday.

Wilkinson scored 23 points and grabbed 20 rebounds, while Henrich added 12 points. Noah Luethmers added five points and 10 boards. Samuel Gigov scored five points. 

For Flandreau, Alfie Henderson had 15 points and Kody Kneebone added 12 points. Micah Otto had 11 points. Paul Parsley posted six points, five rebounds and nine assists. 


Sully Buttes 77, Herreid/Selby Area 38 

ONIDA — Wesley Wittler and Gavin Colson powered Sully Buttes to a boys basketball win on Tuesday.

Wittler finished with 29 points and Colson added 15 points. 


Warner 70, Redfield 41

REDFIELD — Drew Bakeberg poured in 30 points to power Warner to a boys basketball win on Tuesday.

Bakeberg added eight rebounds and five 3-pointers. Brayden Kroll added 14 points and three 3-pointers. Brennan Wolf-Donat added nine points, while Jesiah Baum scored seven points.

For Redfield, Ruben Alvarez scored 17 points and Ethan Falk had 17 points. Falk and Alvarez had four rebounds apiece. 


Winner 70, St. Francis 41 

WINNER — Carter Craven and Shawn Hammerbeck scored 18 points apiece as Winner defeated St. Francis in boys basketball action on Tuesday.

Craven added 10 rebounds, while Hammerbeck had four rebounds and four assists. Austin Calhoon and Aiden Schroeder scored nine points apiece. Zac Olson had eight points and Ryder Halligan scored seven points. Halligan added five assists. 

For St. Francis, Mackenzie Wike had eight points. John Gunhammer and Roger Roether III scored seven points apiece. Michael Rogers had six points and Kenyon McCloskey added five points. 


Vermillion 77, Dakota Valley 62

VERMILLION — Five players scored in double figures to power Vermillion to a boys basketball win on Tuesday.

Vermillion’s Trey Hansen finished with 28 points, eight rebounds, five assists and three blocked shots. Landon Cerny and Jensen scored 12 points and 11 points, respectively. Gabe Larsen had 11 points and seven rebounds. Carter Hansen added 11 points, six rebounds and five assists.

For Dakota Valley, Logan Collette finished with 20 points and Luke Bruns scored 18 points. Luke Anema had 11 points. 


Milbank 55, Sisseton 36

MILBANK — Milbank pulled past Sisseton for a boys basketball win on Tuesday.

Milbank’s Lincoln Holscher finished with 13 points and six rebounds. Emmett Hanson had eight points and 14 rebounds. Bryan Meyer had eight points. Sam Rick added seven points and four rebounds, while Graham Lightfield finished with six points and three rebounds.

For Sisseton, Derrick Flute finished with 18 points and five rebounds. Brett Hansen posted nine points, while Josh Donnell had five points. 


Great Plains Lutheran 44, Deubrook Area 37

WHITE — Great Plains Lutheran held off Deubrook Area for a boys basketball win on Tuesday.

GPL’s Brody Scharleman finished with 14 points and Hayden Karli scored eight points. Jarret Bauer and Micah Holien had six points apiece. 

For Deubrook Area, Chance Schoenfeld scored 13 points and Isaac Gass finished with 12 points. Josh Moberg added five points. 


Mitchell 53, Aberdeen Central 44 

ABERDEEN — Markus Talley scored his 1,000th career point as Class AA No. 3 Mitchell held off Aberdeen Central for a boys basketball win on Tuesday.

Talley finished with a team-high 16 points and Colton Smith added 14 points. Gavin Hinker had 11 points and Landen Soulek scored seven points.

For Aberdeen Central, Brendan Phillips finished with 13 points. Jacob Weishaar added 11 points and Luke Swanson scored seven points. Colby Dauwen had six points. 


Harrisburg 66, Tea Area 59 

HARRISBURG — Class AA No. 4 Harrisburg outlasted Tea Area for a boys basketball win on Tuesday.

Harrisburg’s Nolan Krull recorded 22 points and hit six 3-pointers. Isaiah Tap added 10 points and 10 rebounds. Kaden Anderson had nine points and four assists. Myles Nour scored six points. Stellen Larson, Aiden Costain and Crayton Jibben scored six points apiece.

For Tea Area, Marshall Smythe and Grifin Wiebenga scored 20 points apiece. Wiebenga added eight rebounds and four 3-pointers, while Smythe grabbed four boards. Gavin Shawd scored 11 points and had three rebounds. Mitch Grant recorded four points and four rebounds. Jaxson Merrigan added four points and five boards.
