Faulkton Area 77, Langford Area 30

FAULKTON — Layne Cotton erupted for a school-record 52 points in a boys basketball win over Langford Area on Friday.

Cotton finished 17-of-33 from the field, 14-of-17 and 4-of-9 at the 3-point line. He added nine rebounds and eight steals. Cotton also set the all-time scoring record for Faulkton Area. 

Spencer Melius and Gian DiMaria scored seven points apiece. DiMaria added seven rebounds. 

Langford Area’s Kalen Godel logged seven points and four rebounds. Dylan Harmon had seven points. Rennan Bruns added five points. 

Mobridge-Pollock 79, Faith 72 (OT) 

MOBRIDGE — Mobridge-Pollock outlasted Faith for an overtime boys basketball win on Friday.

Mobridge-Pollock’s Michael Wald recorded 21 points and eight rebounds. Kale Knudson and Shanderson scored 20 points apiece. Henderson added 12 rebounds. Jackson Eisemann posted 13 points, while Simon Fried finished with five points.

Faith’s Jackson Schauer scored 27 points and collected seven rebounds. Caden Selby added 18 points and nine rebounds. Klayte McLellan and Cooper Schuelke scored seven points apiece. Krece Halligan had six points. 

Pine Ridge 72, Lakota Tech 59

PINE RIDGE — Class A No. 3 Pine Ridge used a 22-9 third quarter to pull away from Lakota Tech for a boys basketball win on Friday.

Pine Ridge’s Marvin Richard III recorded 24 points and six rebounds. Jaylin Rouillard added 13 points, while Kanye Hollow Horn posted 12 points and 10 rebounds. Domonic Ghost Bear had nine points, while Anthony Steele recorded eight points. Xavier Little scored six points.

Lakota Tech’s Gavin White scored a game-high 29 points, to go along with seven rebounds and six steals. Riley Casey had 20 points and four assists. Mackenzie Cass added six points. 

Winner 65, McLaughlin 47

WINNER — Three players scored in double-figures as Winner picked up a home win over McLaughlin in boys basketball action Friday. 

Aiden Barfuss led Winner with 18 points and had four rebounds and six assists. Shawn Hammerbeck had 17 points and 12 rebounds. Ryder Halligan chipped in with 13 points for Winner. 

Raymin Yellow Earrings led McLaughlin with 21 points. Cassidy Demery also added 13 points for the Mustangs. 

Dakota Valley 69, Dell Rapids 52

NORTH SIOUX CITY — Class A No. 5 Dakota Valley used a 21-12 second quarter to help secure a boys basketball win on Friday.

Dakota Valley’s Jaxson Wingert finished with 29 points and seven rebounds. Logan Collette had 19 points, six rebounds and four assists. Luke Bruns posted 13 points and eight rebounds. 

West Central 61, Madison 56

MADISON — Connor Mebius and Will Kuhl combined to score 42 points as West Central picked up a road win over Madison in boys basketball action Friday. 

Mebius drained six 3-pointers and finished with 27 points and two assists. Kuhl added 15 points and four steals for the Trojans. Brodie Hardie and Paden Schulte combined to score 11 points for the Trojans. 

Ben Brooks led Madison with 25 points and seven rebounds. Elijah Sims and Charles Callahan each scored 10 points for Madison. 

Sioux Falls Jefferson 78, Brookings 51

SIOUX FALLS — A balanced scoring attack helped Sioux Falls Jefferson roll past Brookings in boys basketball action Friday.
