Rapid City Christian 11, Chamberlain/Kimball/Lyman 2 

WINNER — Rapid City Christian built a 7-0 lead en route to a Region 4B high school baseball win over Chamberlain/Kimball/Lyman on Monday. Rapid City Christian will now play in the state baseball tournament on May 29-30 in Sioux Falls. 

The Comets posted 11 hits, including three apiece from Sam Kieffer and Cayden Von Eye. Von Eye drove in three runs. Wes Schlabach had two hits. Blaine Bolton allowed five hits, two earned runs and struck out three batters in his 4.1-inning start. 

For Chamberlain/Kimball/Lyman, Blake Leiferman and Carter Lenz had two hits apiece. Lenz drove in a run. Hudson Heath started and lasted three innings, allowed six runs on four hits and struck out three batters. 

In their Region 4B openers, Rapid City Christian defeated Winner/Colome (8-7) and Chamberlain defeated Belle Fourche (12-7).

PLATTE — Platte-Geddes/Dakota Christian/White Lake used a five-run second inning en route to a Region 4B high school baseball win on Monday. The Honkers will now play in the state baseball tournament on May 29-30 in Sioux Falls. 

The Honkers totaled eight hits in the win, including two each from Trevor Rolland and Caden Oberbroekling. Parker Bailey drove in two runs, while Joey Foxley and Oakley Kott each drove in runs. 

Oberbroekling struck out nine batters, allowed two hits, one run (unearned) and walked four batters in his six-inning start. 

Gregory County’s Gannon Thomas and Kade Braun each had hits. Thomas allowed eight hits, seven runs and struck out four batters in his five-inning start. 

In their Region 4B openers, Platte-Geddes/Dakota Christian/White Lake edged Hot Springs (4-3) and Gregory County defeated St. Thomas More (11-3).
