Hot Springs sprinter Braden Peterson anchors two top Class A relays at Custer Last Chance Meet
Hot Springs speedster Braden Peterson won the 100-meter dash and anchored the 800-meter relay and 1,600 meter relay to wins and the fastest Class a times this season at a meet in Custer.

CUSTER — Hot Springs senior Braden Peterson won the 100-meter dash (:10.98) and anchored the 800-meter relay (1:31.10) and 1,600-meter relay (3:27.98). Both of those times in the relays are the fastest in Class A this season. 

Custer’s Drew Lehman outdueled an outstanding field to win the 800-meter run (1:58.75). Custer also had wins from Mikal Grace in the 110-meter hurdles (:15.91), the sprint medley relay (4:22.60). 

Lakota Tech’s Gilbert White won the high jump (6-2) and triple jump (40-6.25). 

Hill City got wins from Devin Buehler in the 400-meter dash (:52.67), James Dubious in the 3,200-meter run (11:25.03), Bohdan Pesicka in the discus (129-5). Robbie Emery won the pole vault (14-0) and Roland Sedlacek won the long jump (19-5.5) and javelin (154-00). 

Rapid City Christian’s Ezra Wildeman won the 300-meter hurdles (:41.80) and ran the second leg on the winning 400-meter relay (:41.80). 

The Custer girls had a very strong day with Jordyn Larson winning the 400-meter dash (1:01.85), Brit Wheeler in the 1,600-meter run (5:23.29), Sierra Swenson in the 3,200-meter run, the 400-meter relay (:51.44) and 1,600-meter relay (4:49.04). Ciana Stiefel won the pole vault (12-3) and Brook Bennett won the discus (109-6).

Hill City’s Abby Cutler won the 800-meter run (2:24.14). Riley Wiese won the 110-meter hurdles (:16.41) and ran the opening leg on the Rangers winning 800–meter relay (1:48.75).

Rapid City Christian’s Kayla Dilka won the shot put (40-4.5) and discus (122-0). Sadie Marshall won the long jump (17-2) for the Comets and Chloe Weber won the high jump (4-9). 

Hot Springs senior Carlie DeBoer won the 300-meter hurdles (:47.89), ran the opening leg on the third place 800-meter relay (1:51.52) and finished second in the triple jump (33-4.5).
