Four Corners 7, Winner Demons 5

COLOME — Austin Hand and Garrett Stout combined for 15 strikeouts as Four Corners advanced in District 4B tournament action Saturday.

Hand pitched the first 6.1 innings, allowing five runs on four hits and four walks while striking out eight. Stout added seven strikeouts over the final 2.2 innings, giving up just a hit and three walks. Matt Lusk and Justin Lester each drove in two runs on two hits and a walk, Andrew Coverdale had an RBI on two hits and a walk, Andrew McCloud tallied an RBI on a hit and a walk, while Stout tallied two hits in the win.

For Winner, Ethan Bartels allowed seven runs on 12 hits and seven walks in eight innings, striking out nine. Pierce Nelson tallied three hits, Ashton Klein added two RBIs on a double and two walks, while Kayleb Brozik drove in a run on two walks in the loss.


Burke Bombers 6, Wessington Springs Owls 5

COLOME — JJ Farner’s 16 strikeouts powered Burke over Wessington Springs in Pony Hills district tournament action Saturday.

Farner allowed five runs on five hits and two walks in a complete game, striking out 16 in the win. Aaron Sundquist had two RBIs on a homer and a walk, K Braun added two RBIs on two hits, one homer, while Blake Boes drove in a run in the win.

For WS, Parker DeJean took the loss, allowing six runs on five hits and three walks in eight innings, striking out 15. Trevor Kenobbie hit a grand slam to score four while Blake Larson had two hits, one solo homer, in the loss.


Kimball/White Lake Nationals 10, Colome Chaos 0 (7 innings)

COLOME — Mitchell Price struck out 13 batters as Kimball/White Lake blanked Colome in Pony Hills district tournament action Saturday.

Price allowed just two hits in six shutout innings, fanning 13 batters in the win. Dylan Konechne and Dylanger Pierson each drove in two runs on one hit, Trent Wookey and Caden Lenz each had two hits and an RBI, Jesse Kroupa had two hits and a walk, while Caleb Crist, Jaxon Pursell and Carter Lenz each drove in a run on one hit in the win.

For Colome, Shea Connot allowed eight runs on 10 hits and two walks in 4.1 innings, striking out two. Connot, Ethan Vobr and Layton Thieman each tallied a hit in the loss.


Plankinton Bankers 3, Chamberlain Mallards 1

COLOME — Thomas Stange collected 12 strikeouts as Plankinton clipped Chamberlain in Pony Hills district tournament action Saturday.

Stange allowed just one run on four hits and three walks in nine innings of work, striking out 12 in the win. Cain Tobin drove in a run on two hits, Teegan Schlimgen added an RBI single while Marcus Hill had two hits in the win.

For Chamberlain, Dakota Munger took the loss despite recording 11 strikeouts, allowing three runs on eight hits and a walk in 5.2 innings. Ryan Covelans had two hits and an RBI in the loss.


Dell Rapids PBR 16, Hartford/Humboldt Wood Ducks 10

MADISON — PBR pounded out 11 hits and drew 11 walks to run away from Hartford/Humboldt in Cornbelt League district tournament action Saturday.

Zack Puetz, Drew Sweeter and Nate Nichols each drove in a trio of runs on two hits and a walk, including a double from Puetz and two doubles from Sweeter. Weston Hansen had two RBIs on two hits, one double, and a walk, Grant Sweeter had an RBI on a hit and three walks, Brayden Pankonen tallied an RBI on a hit and a walk, Chris Kropuenske and Beau Behrend each tallied an RBI on a walk, while Riley Calhoon totaled a hit and a walk in the win. Brett Mogen took the win on the mound in seven innings, allowing 10 runs on 14 hits, striking out nine.

For HH, Derek Renken allowed eight runs on four hits and five walks in 2.1 innings, striking out four. Jearl Jesson had four RBIs on two hits, one homer, Seth Kuno and Jacob Ellens each had an RBI on one hit, Camden McDonald tallied two RBIs on three hits, one double, while Hunter Den Boer and Nathan Adrian each had two hits in the loss. Braden Herr collected three hits in the loss as well.


Dell Rapids Mudcats 14, Flandreau Cardinals 9

MADISON — Josh Roeman and Austin Henry combined for 10 RBIs as Dell Rapids outlasted Flandreau in Cornbelt League district tourney action Saturday.

Roeman drove in six runs on two hits, including a homer, while Henry collected four RBIs on two hits, a home run, and two walks in the win. Carter Gullickson batted 4-for-4 with three doubles, a walk and two RBIs, Ty Hoglund had two RBIs on three hits, including a home run, while Treyse Eastman, Sutton Williams and Grant Olson each tallied two hits in the win. Eastman earned the victory on the mound in seven innings of work, allowing eight runs on eight hits and three walks, striking out one.

For Flandreau, Bret Severtson allowed 12 runs on 14 hits and two walks in 5.1 innings, striking out five. Jacob Patterson had three RBIs on two hits, a homer, and a walk, Tim Huber, Austin Koenig, Keith Cutler and Brett McGuire each drove in a run on one hit, including a solo homer from Huber, while Luke Gassman added two hits in the loss.


Madison Dairy Queen Broncos 10, Hartford/Humboldt Gamecocks 5

MADISON — Logan Albee drove in three runs on four hits as Madison upended Hartford/Humboldt in District 4B tournament action Saturday.

Albee batted 4-for-4 with two doubles and a home run, driving in three runs in the win. Tyler Tappe added three RBIs on two hits, one double, Trey Smith collected two RBIs on one hit, Peyton Wolf had an RBI on a hit and a walk while Matt Burpee collected two hits and two walks in the win. JD Kirchner allowed one unearned run on two hits and two walks in 3.1 innings, striking out five.

For the Gamecocks, Noah Vettrus allowed five unearned runs on five hits and two walks in four innings, striking out three. Tyler Migliante drove in two runs on a hit while Jonah Rencthenbaugh and Adam Hentges each tallied an RBI on one hit in the loss.

 

Canova Gang 12, Flandreau Blue Teal 1 (7 innings)

MADISON — Jared Miller tossed a complete game on the mound in Canova’s mercy rule district tourney win over Flandreau Saturday.

Miller allowed just one unearned run on two hits and a walk in seven innings, striking out eight in the win. Jared Miller had three RBIs on a homer and a walk, Justin Miller had two RBIs on a hit and a walk, Riley Genzlinger and Luke Koepsell each recorded two RBIs on two hits and a walk, Garrett Gassman and Kalub Carmichel each had two hits while Derek Miller and Kendall Gassman each drove in a run in the win.

For Flandreau, Emmot Nathan took the loss, allowing five runs on six hits and four walks in five innings, striking out three. Mason Riley and Kolby Peters each tallied a hit in the loss.


Castlewood Ravens 14, Estelline Merchants 0 (7 innings)

CASTLEWOOD — Jacob Tvedt’s complete game shutout powered Castlewood over Estelline in Eastern Dakota League action Saturday.

Tvedt allowed just one hit and three walks in seven innings, striking out eight in the win. Gus Steiger led the Raven offense with three RBIs on three hits, including a homer, Kellen Benck had two RBIs on one hit, Alex Gauer added an RBI single while Lucas Ching, Adam Ching and Kyler Tvedt each had an RBI in the win.

For Estelline, Jake Goodfellow allowed seven runs on four hits and six walks in 4.1 innings. Brady Miller tallied the lone hit of the game in the loss for the Merchants.


Milbank Firechiefs 13, Ramona Express 0 (7 innings)

CASTLEWOOD — Brady Krause tossed 14 strikeouts as Milbank blanked Ramona in District 1B tourney action Saturday.

Krause allowed just two hits and three walks in a seven inning shutout, striking out 14 in the win. Merik Junker tallied three RBIs on three hits, two doubles, Kade Krause and Brady Krause each had two hits and two RBIs, Tanner Hallquist added two RBIs on three hits, Kellen Hoeke batted 4-for-5 with an RBI, Dom Boerger netted three hits while Taylor Boerger drove in two runs in the win.

For Ramona, Ken Longman allowed 13 runs on 17 hits in six innings, striking out two. Aaron Schlosser and Logan DeRungs each had a hit in the loss.


Lake Norden Lakers 3, Volga Cormorants 2

CASTLEWOOD — Jordon Johnson’s complete game on the mound lifted Lake Norden to a District 1B tournament win over Volga Saturday.

Johnson allowed just two runs on 10 hits and three walks in nine innings of work, striking out four in the win. Jackson Noem, Josh Cleveland, Dawson Noem and George Jensen each had a hit in the win.

For Volga, Trevor Olson allowed three runs on four hits and five walks in eight innings pitched, striking out seven. Cole Gross had three hits, Olson drove in a run on two hits, Randy Santema collected an RBI on a hit and a walk while Braden Danzeisen tallied two hits in the loss.


Clark Traders 5, Elkton Snappers 2

CASTLEWOOD — A three-run ninth inning lifted Clark over Elkton in District 1B tournament action Saturday.

Jay Huber had two RBis on two hits and a walk, Grayson Florey tallied two hits and an RBI, while Bryce DesLauriers had an RBI on a walk in the win. Hudson Fuller tossed a complete game on the mound, allowing two runs on six hits and three walks, striking out eight.

For Elkton, Owen Cass took the loss, allowing three runs on three hits and a walk in two innings, striking out two. Aidan Stewart had two RBIs on a homer while Aiden Erickson had two hits in the loss.


Mitchell Aces 9, Aberdeen Circus 8 (7 innings)

MITCHELL — Mitchell stormed back from a three-run deficit as the Aces earned a walk-off win over Aberdeen Saturday.

Lincoln Bates drove in five runs on two hits, one homer, in the win, Hudson Borgan added an RBI on a hit and two walks while Conor Mattke added two hits and a walk in the win. Peyton Mandel took the win on the mound in 1.2 innings, allowing two runs on four hits while striking out three.

For Aberdeen, Cade Knutsen allowed nine runs on six hits and eight walks in 6.2 innings, striking out 11. Casey Vining had three RBIs on two hits, one double, Easton Millar and Joshue Steinwandt each tallied two RBIs on two hits, one double, Michael Babcock added one hit and one RBI while Kelly Coates recorded three hits in the loss.


Aberdeen Circus 10, Mitchell Aces 5 (7 innings)

MITCHELL — Joshua Steinwandt and L Logan combined for six RBIs as Aberdeen split Saturday’s doubleheader with Mitchell Saturday.

Steinwandt batted 3-for-3 with a double, two walks, and three RBIs while Logan added three RBIs on a homer in the win. Jesse Babcock had an RBI on one hit, Tyler Oliver added an RBI while Casey Vining drove in a run on three hits, a triple, and a walk in the win. Vining also earned the victory on the mound in five innings pitched, allowing five runs on four hits and seven walks, striking out 10.

For Mitchell, Blake Brosz allowed 10 runs on eight hits and eight walks in a complete game, striking out 10. Karter Sibson had two RBIs on two hits, Peyton Mandel had an RBI on two walks, while Colin Stange tallied an RBI single in the loss.
