Watertown 4, Harrisburg 3

SIOUX FALLS — No. 8 Watertown held on to knock off top-seeded Harrisburg in Class A state quarterfinal action on Friday. The Arrows will face No. 4 Yankton Saturday at 6 p.m.

Hunter Halajian took the win on the mound in 6.2 innings of work, allowing three runs on five hits and two walks, striking out eight.

Jaxon Falak and Sam Olson each had two hits and an RBI, Jonathan Lake added two hits while Markus Pitkin and Maxx Sears each drove in runs in the win.

For Harrisburg, Grady Wolbrink took the loss in 5.2 innings, allowing four runs on seven hits and two walks, striking out four.

Treydon Hofer had two RBIs on a triple, Noah Rutten added an RBI-single while Bryson Esser collected two hits in the loss.


Sioux Falls Jefferson 5, Pierre 3

SIOUX FALLS — Sioux Falls Jefferson jumped out to a 5-0 lead to beat Pierre in Class A state quarterfinal action on Friday. The Cavaliers will play the Brandon Valley vs. O’Gorman winner at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Brody Jacobson led the Cavs with two hits, a double, and three RBIs, Noah Grabow added two hits and an RBI, Easton Riley drove in a run while Noah Kuenzi had two hits and a walk in the win.

Everett Salonen earned the win on the mound in five innings pitched, allowing three runs on two hits and five walks, striking out six.

For Pierre, Carter Templeton took the loss in one inning of work, allowing three runs on four hits.

Carter Schiefelbein had an RBI on a walk for the Govs while Jerren Deal tallied two hits in the loss.


Yankton 2, Rapid City Stevens 1 (8 innings)

SIOUX FALLS — Yankton earned a walk-off win over Rapid City Stevens in Class A state quarterfinal action on Friday. The Bucks will play Watertown at 6 p.m. on Saturday in the state semifinals.

Samuel Gokie earned the win on the mound for the Bucks in seven innings of work, allowing one run on four hits and two walks, striking out six.

Gokie drove in the game-winning run on a sac-fly while Easton Feser tallied an RBI-double in the win.

For Stevens, Brady Waddell suffered the loss, allowing two runs on two hits and one walk in seven innings, striking out 11.

Karter Brager had an RBI on a hit and a walk while Austin Flohr, Conor Konvalin and Isaac Robinson each had a hit in the loss.
