Sioux Falls O’Gorman captures Class AA boys tennis state title

RAPID CITY — Sioux Falls O’Gorman won the Class AA boys tennis state title on Friday. It was O’Gorman’s first boys state tennis championship since 2011. 

The Knights totaled 484 points, holding off Harrisburg (482) and Lincoln (437) for the state championship. 

O’Gorman’s Will Koziara (Flight 1) was the lone singles champion for the Knights. 

Harrisburg’s Jackson Hancock (Flight 2), Harrisburg’s Robert Rallis (Flight 3), Lincoln’s Amrit Thury (Flight 4), Harrisburg’s Ozil Sharma (Flight 5) and Stevens’ Ferris Pendegraft (Flight 6) also win singles titles. 

In doubles action, Koziara/John McDowell (Flight 1), Cooper Rott/Rallis (Flight 2) and O’Gorman’s Benjamin Pekas/Noah Dobbs (Flight 3) won state titles.
