BROOKINGS — Cohen Hahn tossed a complete-game shutout to power Madison/Chester past Dakota Valley in the Class B state semifinals. The Bulldogs will face Clark Area for the Class B state championship at 3 p.m.

Hahn took the win on the mound in seven shutout innings, allowing three hits and two walks while striking out eight in the win.

Oakley Mees drove in the lone run on a single for the Bulldogs while Tregg McGillivray, Casyn Crabtree and Braylon Oftedal each had a hit in the win.

For DV, Grady Ramos took the loss despite six strong innings, allowing one run on four hits and one walk, striking out seven.

Jake Pick totaled two hits while Noah Graham added a double in the loss for the Panthers.


Clark Area 1, Platte-Geddes/Dakota Christian/White Lake 0

BROOKINGS — Charlie Luvaas’ complete-game shutout powered Clark Area over Platte-Geddes/Dakota Christian/White Lake in Class B semifinal action on Tuesday. The Dinosaurs will play Madison/Chester in the state championship game at 3 p.m. Tuesday.

Luvaas allowed just two hits and one hit batter in just 79 pitches of a complete game shutout, striking out two as well. Luvaas also drove in the go-ahead run on one hit for the Dinos.

Watson Grantham added two hits while Cooper Pommer had one hit in the win.

For PGDCWL, Kenyon Kuiper suffered the loss in 6.2 innings, allowing one unearned run on four hits and two walks, striking out eight.

Maddux VanZee and Isaac Leader each had one hit in the loss.
