BERESFORD — Howard’s Melanie Calmus shined in the final track and field meet of the regular season. 

At Friday’s Beresford Last Chance track and field meet, Calmus won the 100-meter dash (:12.92) and 200-meter dash (:26.54). Calmus ran the anchor leg on the first-place 400-meter relay team (:52.27), joined by Ellie Becker, Grace Lewis and Brooklyn Becker. Calmus added a second-place finish in the long jump (15-11.5). 

Howard’s Briella Wettlaufer won the 3,200-meter run in 12:50.78. 

Alcester-Hudson’s Emily Winquist won the 400-meter dash (1:04.92) and triple jump (34-5). 

Freeman’s Cadence Hofer, Makenzie Scharberg, Rylee Peters and Vaida Ammann won the 800-meter relay (1:51.14). Scharberg added a first-place finish in the long jump (16-3.25). 

Canton’s Ava Sletten won the 1,600-meter run (5:52.03). Canton’s Avayla Jaacks, Qynn Van Bockern, Jayla York and Camryn Skiles won the 1,600-meter relay (4:17.45). 

Canton’s Gracie Turbes, Rylan Aasheim, Jaacks and Jewel Gannon won the sprint medley relay (4:24.95).

Alcester-Hudson’s Emma Solberg won the 300-meter hurdles (:49.59). Alcester-Hudson’s Devin Hongslo won the shot put (35-2). 

Beresford’s Lillie Boden won the 800-meter run (2:38.33). Beresford’s Harley Koth won the discus (100-3). 

MCM’s Lexi Pulse won the 100-meter hurdles (:16.76). Sioux Valley’s Amari Ward won the javelin (98-7). West Central’s Elizabeth Stofferahn won the high jump (4-8). 

In boys action, Beresford’s Jax Fickbohm won the 200-meter dash (:23.55). Beresford’s Elias Perez won the 300-meter hurdles (:44.25). Fickbohm, Aidan Hamm, Perez and Malachi James won the 800-meter relay (1:32.95). Esypn Klungseth, Oliver Merriman, Bennett Farley and Easton Buum won the 1,600-meter relay (4:05.33). Josh Merriman, Klungseth, Hunter Penn and Payden Hoffman won the 3,200-meter relay (8:52.14). 

Beresford’s Hayden Homandberg won the 1,600-meter run (4:49.27). 

McCook Central/Montrose’s Jackson Schmidt won the shot put (47-3) and discus (144-10). 

MCM’s Owen Schmidt won the long jump (20-3) and placed second in the triple jump (39-9). MCM’s Colton Stiefvater won the triple jump (39-11.75). 

West Central’s Rylee Hartung won the 400-meter dash (:52.11). West Central’s Zach Nielsen won the 800-meter run (2:04.18) and high jump (5-8). West Central’s Liam Schmeichel won the 110-meter hurdles (:15.38).  

Howard’s Korbin Shumaker, Lawden Haak, Brody Spader and Kolt Becker won the 400-meter relay (:45.66). 

Shumaker, Spader, Becker and Caden Schwader won the sprint medley relay (3:55.36). 

Canton’s Keyvin Strand won the javelin (139-1). 

Freeman’s Lane McCune won the 3,200-meter run (10:23.55). Alcester-Hudson’s Brody Andrews won the 100-meter dash (:11.86).
