Winner 46, Pierre 43

WINNER — Blake Volmer’s go-ahead basket with eight seconds left lifted Class A No. 3 Winner to a boys basketball win over Pierre on Tuesday. 


Volmer led the Warriors with 11 points, 12 rebounds and five assists for Winner, which outscored Pierre 18-7 in the final quarter. Aiden Barfuss added 11 points, while Slade Cournoyer logged eight points and five rebounds. Ethan Bartels had six points and four rebounds. Shawn Hammerbeck added eight boards and five points. 

Pierre’s Lincoln Kienholz finished with 13 points and eight rebounds. Jackson Edman posted a 10-point, 11-rebound double-double. Christian Busch added 10 points and four rebounds, while Matthew Hanson had six points.

De Smet 59, Howard 38

DE SMET — Class B No. 1 De Smet jumped out to a 38-20 halftime lead and defeated Howard in a boys basketball contest on Tuesday.

Kalen Garry led the Bulldogs with 21 points, eight rebounds and hit three 3-pointers. Rett Osthus logged 18 points, including four 3-pointers. Damon Wilkinson recorded 10 point, nine boards, four steals and four blocked shots, while Tory Holland added seven points and four rebounds.  

Howard’s Kolt Koepsell scored 10 points and six rebounds. Ryder Erickson and Brayden Hinker scored seven points apiece. Jace Sifore tossed in six points and grabbed nine boards. Erickson added five rebounds.

Dakota Valley 73, West Central 60

NORTH SIOUX CITY — Three players scored in double-figures to help lead Class A No. 1 Dakota Valley to a boys basketball win over West Central on Tuesday.

Bruns finished with 30 points, six rebounds, and three steals, while Randy Rosenquist recorded a triple-double of 14 points, 12 assists, and 10 rebounds. Jaxon Hennies scored 13 points, while Sam Faldmo added nine points.

For West Central, Mubarak Ibrahim scored 14 points, while Jack Linneman recorded 11 points and Jacob Krempges added 10 points.


Mount Vernon/Plankinton 63, Wessington Springs 46

WESSINGTON SPRINGS — Reed Rus stuffed the stat sheet in Mount Vernon/Plankinton’s boys basketball win over Wessington Springs on Tuesday.

Rus finished with 26 points, eight rebounds, eight steals, five assists and four blocked shots. Jordan Stoltz logged nine points, 10 boards and five blocked shots. Blaine Bohr added eight points and five steals. Zach Baker, Lincoln Klooz and Mason Hetland scored five points apiece. 

For Wessington Springs, Cade Mohling scored 12 points. Mason Schelske added 11 points and 11 boards. Blake Larson logged eight points, while Brock Krueger recorded eight rebounds and six points. 


Mitchell 64, Huron 51

HURON — Class AA No. 5 Mitchell broke a 26-26 halftime tie to pull away from Huron for a boys basketball win on Tuesday.

Caden Hinker led the Kernels with 23 points and seven rebounds. Charlie McCardle and Steele Morgan each scored 12 points, while Aiden Myers recorded nine points. Morgan also added seven boards.

Huron’s Max Kranzler finished with 18 points. Cade McNeil and Jayden Beck scored eight and seven points, respectively.

 

Gregory 56, Wagner 55

GREGORY -- Gregory edged Wagner in a Tuesday boys basketball contest.

Cruz Klundt led the Gorillas with 19 points, while Rane Kenzy added 14 points. 


Beresford 61, McCook Central/Montrose 54

MONTROSE — Tate VanOtterloo and Isaiah Richards combined for 38 points to lift Beresford to a boys basketball win on Tuesday. 

VanOtterloo led the way with 28 points, while Richards logged 10 points and five rebounds. Andrew Atwood added nine points. Ashton Tjaden recorded seven points and seven rebounds. 

MCM’s Cody Miles finished with 19 points, while Gavin Gordon added 13 points. Carter Jandl and Jaxon Koch scored six points apiece. Jandl added six rebounds. 


Viborg-Hurley 53, Alcester-Hudson 23

HURLEY — Blake Schroedermeier’s double-double helped push Viborg-Hurley past Alcester-Hudson for a boys basketball win on Tuesday.

Schroedermeier finished with 22 points, 10 rebounds, and four steals, while Hayden Gilbert recorded 12 points, six rebounds, and five assists. Aydan Peterson added nine points and five rebounds.

Alcester-Hudson’s Dominic Van Egdom finished with eight points.


Hitchcock-Tulare 54, Warner 49

TULARE — Hitchcock-Tulare edged Warner for a boys basketball victory on Tuesday. 

Hitchcock-Tulare’s Jackson Maynard recorded 17 points, while Kyle Hamilton scored 15 points. Zach Gilbert added 10 points and Erik Salmen scored six points.

Warner’s Peyton Jung finished with 15 points, while Hunter Cramer had 11 points. Ashton Schuchhardt posted 10 points and Trekk Hannahs added eight points. Levi Scepaniak scored five points. 


Deuel 79, Arlington 44

CLEAR LAKE — Deuel used a 27-8 third quarter to pull away from Arlington for a boys basketball win on Tuesday.

Trey Maaland finished with 20 points, while Naethan Lovre scored 17 points and Cooper Schiernbeck recorded 13 points, seven rebounds, seven assists, and three steals. Gavin Benck added 10 points, nine rebounds, and four assists.

Arlington’s Ryker Erstad finished with a game-high 30 points, along with five rebounds and three steals. Caden Letsche added 10 points.


Britton-Hecla 45, Wilmot 36

BRITTON — Britton-Hecla picked up a boys basketball win over Wilmot on Tuesday.

BoDell Davidson led the Braves with 15 points, while Landon Carlson finished with 13 points.

Trey Jurgens led Wilmot with 19 points.


Estelline/Hendricks 53, Great Plains Lutheran 48 (OT)

ESTELLINE — Estelline/Hendricks outlasted Great Plains Lutheran in overtime to pick up a boys basketball win on Tuesday.

Braxton Saathoff led the Redhawks with 23 points, seven rebounds, and three steals. Joe McAninch recorded 15 points and eight rebounds, while Lorenzo Iotti added 11 points and 16 rebounds. Mattix Hausman dished out eight assists.

GPL’s Sam Hansen scored 18 points, while Ethan Kjenstad added 16 points. 

 

Tripp-Delmont/Armour 69, Andes Central/Dakota Christian 38

TRIPP — Tripp-Delmont/Armour pulled away from a two-point halftime lead for a 31-boys basketball victory on Tuesday. 

Kase Brouwer led TDA with 17 points, while Carson Koehn and Riley Spaans had 10 points apiece. Spaans added eight boards.

ACDC’s Cameron Sybesma finished with 15 points and six rebounds. Rizon Clark logged nine rebounds and five boards. Mason Olson added eight points and seven rebounds. 


Dell Rapids 66, Sioux Falls Christian 57

DELL RAPIDS — Dell Rapids outlasted Sioux Falls Christian in a Tuesday boys basketball contest. 

Brayden Pankonen finished with 21 points, while Jack Henry added 16 points and five rebounds. Landon Ruesink dished out four assists. 

Sioux Falls Christian’s Tayton Snyder, Ethan Bruns, Brooks Nelson and Logan Schipper scored 10 points apiece. Nathan Koole grabbed 10 rebounds.

Oldham-Ramona/Rutland 78, James Valley Christian 63

Orion Albertson and Will Matson combined for 46 points to power Oldham-Ramona/Rutland to a boys basketball win over James Valley Christian on Tuesday.

Albertson netted 24 points, while Matson scored 22 points.

JVC’s Landon Wallman scored 26 points and Landon Wager added 18 points.


Leola/Frederick Area 58, North Central 35

EUREKA — Leola/Frederick Area picked up a 23-point boys basketball win over North Central on Tuesday.

Noah Kippley and Brayden Sumption led the way with 14 points apiece. Colton Spitzer scored nine points. 

North Central’s Bryce Beitelspacher scored 17 points, while Dawson Walz and Cole Bukaske scored six points apiece. 


Girls Basketball

Hanson 72, McCook Central/Montrose 22

ALEXANDRIA — Alexandria led 20-3 after the first quarter en route to a girls basketball win over McCook Central/Montrose on Tuesday. 

Hanson’s Vanessa Doyle led the way with 21 points, while Annalyse Weber netted 16 points and logged five steals. Erin Dewald added 13 points and Alyssa Moschell scored 11 points. 

MCM’s Michaela McCormick scored seven points. 


Bridgewater-Emery 69, Ethan 42

ETHAN — Bridgewater-Emery picked up a 27-point girls basketball win over Ethan on Tuesday. 

Morgan Uptagrafft led the Huskies with 19 points, while Julia Weber scored 15 points. Chloe Schmitt logged a 14-point, 10-rebound double-double. Taylor Schallenkamp scored 10 points and Casey Meyer tossed in eight points. 


Andes Central/Dakota Christian 57, Tripp-Delmont/Armour 23

TRIPP — Allison Muckey and Josie Brouwer combined for 34 points to power Andes Central/Dakota Christian to a girls basketball win on Tuesday. 

Muckey finished with 18 points, nine rebounds and five steals. Brouwer recorded 16 points, seven steals and four rebounds. Isabella Brouwer added seven points. Gabby Olson logged five rebounds, while Halle Olson added four rebounds. 

TDA’s Megan Reiner finished with 11 points and five steals. Mia Reiner added seven rebounds. 


Huron 69, Mitchell 46

HURON — Three players reached double figures as the Huron girls rolled to a girls basketball win Tuesday night in Huron. 

Isabelle Shreeve finished with 20 points and six rebounds to lead Huron. Bryn Huber added 13 points with Hamtyn Heinz adding 12 points for Huron. 

Sarah Sebert led Mitchell with 20 points while Sawyer Stoebner added 14 points and 12 rebounds. 


De Smet 62, Howard 47

HOWARD — After trailing much of the game, De Smet used a 25-6 fourth quarter to pick up a girls basketball win Tuesday. 

Jada Burke led De Smet with 21 points, seven rebounds, three assists and four steals. Emma Albrecht chipped in 17 points while Kennadi Buchholz finished with 14 points and six rebounds. 

Abby Aslesen led Howard with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Kate Connor added 12 points while Trinity Palmquist finished with 10 points. 


Warner 50, Hitchcock-Tulare 43

TULARE — Warner used a 19-8 fourth quarter to rally past Hitchcock-Tulare for a girls basketball win on Tuesday. 

Warner’s Kyra Marcuson finished with 12 points, while Ava Nilsson and Lauren Marcuson scored 10 points apiece. Kamryn Anderson added seven points and Peyton Fischer scored five points. 

Hitchcock-Tulare’s Katelyn Schroeder scored 17 points and Madison Hofer netted 13 points, including four 3-pointers. Cambree Hoekman scored nine points. 


Centerville 38, Scotland 35

SCOTLAND — Just one player reached double-figures but team balance helped Centerville to a girls basketball win Tuesday in Scotland. 

Thea Gust finished with 12 points, two rebounds and three assists. Lillie Eide helped Centerville with seven points, three rebounds, a steal and a blocked shot. 

Jenna Vitek led Scotland with ten points while adding five rebounds. Bailey Vitek and Audrey Sayler combined to score 18 points for Scotland. 


West Central 64, Dakota Valley 53

NORTH SIOUX CITY — Class A No. 3 West Central used a 24-14 fourth quarter to pull away from Class A No. 5 Dakota Valley to win a girls basketball game on Tuesday.

Rylee Haldeman scored 18 points, while Cambell Fischer recorded 14 points. Tabor Teel added 13 points.

Rylee Rosenquist led Dakota Valley with a double-double of 29 points and 15 rebounds. Grace Bass contributed nine points and Jorja VanDenHul added seven points. 


Aberdeen Roncalli 45, Faulkton Area 34

FAULKTON — Class B No. 1 Aberdeen Roncalli improved to 7-0 on the season with a girls basketball win over Faulkton Area on Tuesday. 

Madelyn Bragg led the Cavaliers with 17 points, while Olivia Hanson scored 13 points. Morgan Fiedler netted 11 points. 

Faulkton Area’s Isabel Aesoph scored 12 points. 


Aberdeen Christian 55, Groton Area 38

GROTON — Class B No. 3 Aberdeen Christian pulled away from Groton Area for a girls basketball win on Tuesday. 

Mallory Miller finished with 18 points, while Kaylee Block added 11 points. 

Groton Area’s Allyssa Locke finished with 12 points. 


Colman-Egan 72, Chester Area 53

CHESTER — Colman-Egan pulled away from Chester Area for a girls basketball win on Tuesday.

Mackenzie Hemmer finished with a game-high 25 points.

Chester Area’s Emmerson Eppard scored 24 points and four steals, while Emery Larson recorded nine points and four assists.


Tea Area 59, Tri-Valley 32

COLTON — Tea Area cruised to a girls basketball win over Tri-Valley on Tuesday.

Katie Vasecka stuffed the stat sheet with 19 points, eight rebounds, four assists, and four steals, and three blocks. Mara Grant recorded 11 points and five rebounds, while Brynn Schupner added eight points and five rebounds.

For Tri-Valley, Paige Jewett scored 10 points and Lauren Grinde recorded seven points.


Great Plains Lutheran 41, Estelline/Hendricks 32

ESTELLINE — Great Plains Lutheran picked up a girls basketball win over Estelline/Hendricks on Tuesday.

Halle Bauer scored 11 points, while Mali York recorded nine points, and Madeline Prahl added eight points.

Estelline/Hendricks was led by Sadie Johnson with 12 points and seven rebounds, while Kenzy Beare added seven points and seven rebounds. Kate Wegner recorded four steals.


Leola-Frederick Area 35, North Central 29

EUREKA — Leola-Frederick Area outscored North Central 17-2 in the final quarter for a girls basketball win over North Central on Tuesday. 

Chloe Arneson recorded 16 points in the win. Morgan Sumption, Laura Sumption and Alyx Hoffman scored five points apiece.

North Central’s Jenisa Jacobs scored 14 points, while Brittney Frickson finished with 12 points. 


Menno 36, Canistota 23

CANISTOTA — Bridget Vaith finished with a double-double to propel Menno to a girls basketball win over Canistota on Tuesday. 

Vaith logged 16 points, 17 rebounds and four steals in the win. Ashton Massey added six points and seven rebounds.

Canistota’s Hanna Hoffman logged nine points and four rebounds. Kayla Papendick added six points, while Natalie Becker had five rebounds, five assists, four steals and four points.  


Lower Brule 54, Sunshine Bible Academy 14

MILLER — Lower Brule used a 19-3 first quarter to race past Sunshine Bible Academy for a girls basketball win on Tuesday.

Kharmon Wells finished with a game-high 15 points and six steals, while Courtney St. Cloud recorded 13 points and 12 rebounds. Ally Wells added 10 points.

SBA’s Jakki Burma tallied six points and 13 rebounds, while Aja Paul grabbed 10 rebounds.
