Mount Vernon/Plankinton 42, Winner 35

PLANKINTON — Emilee Fox scored a game-high 23 points and became Mount Vernon/Plankinton’s all-time leading scorer in girls basketball history on Friday.

The sophomore guard broke the previous record set by Megan Bultsma, who finished with 1,286 career points. Fox now sits at 1,288 career points and added 12 rebounds in Friday’s win. 

MVP’s Cally Faulhaber added eight points and nine rebounds. Shyla Tobin logged five points. 

Winner’s Bella Swedlund finished with 15 points and eight rebounds. Cora Moss logged six points, while Ellie Brozik and Keelie Kuil scored five points apiece. Kelsey Sachtjen grabbed five rebounds.

Platte-Geddes 61, Colome 23

COLOME — Three players scored in double figures to lift Platte-Geddes to a girls basketball win over Colome on Friday. 

Baleigh Nachtigal scored a team-high 15 points. Cadence VanZee recorded 14 points, while Karly VanDerWerff added 13 points. Regan Hoffman finished with eight points.

Colome’s Maura Luedke scored seven points. 


Howard 43, Ethan 42

HOWARD — Howard edged Ethan in a girls basketball game on Friday.

Canyon Kidd scored 12 points, while Abby Aslesen recorded 10 points and 11 rebounds. Rylee Rudebusch tallied eight points and Kate Connor added seven points and 13 rebounds.

For Ethan, Hannah Bartscher scored a game-high 14 points, fours assists, and seven steals. Ava Lingemann tallied 12 points and Annalise Buenning added eight points.


Hanson 57, Bridgewater-Emery 42

ALEXANDRIA — Hanson pulled away from Bridgewater-Emery for a girls basketball win on Friday.

Eliza Oltmanns scored 15 points and 10 rebounds, while Annalyse Weber netted 12 points and four steals. Vanessa Doyle finished with 11 points and Erin Dewald added nine points.

For BE, Julia Weber scored 15 points, while Morgan Uptagrafft tallied 11 points and Taylor Schallenkamp added eight points.

 

Corsica-Stickney 60, Menno 30

MENNO — Rachel Gerlach and Avery Broughton combined for 45 points to power Class B No. 2 Corsica-Stickney to a girls basketball win over Menno on Friday. 

Gerlach added six rebounds, while Broughton had eight rebounds and seven assists. Casey Tolsma recorded nine points and five rebounds, while Morgan Clites contributed five rebounds, six assists and three points. 

Menno’s Paityn Huber scored 11 points, while Grace Nusz logged six points. Ashton Massey and Bridget Vaith scored five points apiece. Vaith grabbed seven rebounds and Massey collected five boards.


Chamberlain 55, Mobridge-Pollock 52

CHAMBERLAIN — Mya Knippling’s double-double propelled Chamberlain to a girls basketball win over Mobridge-Pollock on Friday. 

Knippling finished with 27 points, 10 rebounds and three assists. Jayslee Petersen added 10 points and six rebounds. Jayna Handel logged eight points, while Jayd Chmela recorded seven points and five rebounds. Kinsey Evans posted eight rebounds and three points. 

Mobridge-Pollock’s Landyn Henderson scored a team-high 21 points, while Emma Keller scored 16 points. Mariah Goehring finished with six points. Heidi Olson added six rebounds, six assists and four rebounds. 


Freeman 46, Bon Homme 45

FREEMAN — Freeman edged Bon Homme in a girls basketball game on Friday.

Ashlin Jacobsen finished with 16 points, while Kate Miller added 12 points.

For BH, Jaden Kortan scored 18 points, while Jurni Vavruska recorded 14 points, four rebounds, and five assists.


Aberdeen Christian 51, Wilmot 33

WILMOT — Class B No. 3 Aberdeen Christian raced past Wilmot to pick up a girls basketball win on Friday.

Mallory Miller scored a game-high 25 points, while Chloe Holt tallied 10 points.

For Wilmot, Madeline Remund scored 18 points.


Milbank 55, Redfield 38 

MILBANK — Milbank jumped out to a 29-11 halftime lead and topped Redfield in girls basketball action on Friday. 

Maurina Street led the Bulldogs with 22 points and seven rebounds. Tyra Berry added 13 points and six rebounds. Isabella Anderson logged 10 points, five steals and four assists. Siera Wenzel had eight points. 

Redfield’s Gracie Fast finished with 15 points, while Chelsea Smith had 12 points and nine rebounds. 


Florence/Henry 66, Great Plains Lutheran 38

FLORENCE — Florence/Henry raced past Great Plains Lutheran for a girls basketball win on Friday.

Taylor Watson scored 14 points and seven rebounds, while Reese Schmidt tallied 12 points. Aubrie Hartley chipped in 11 points, while Trinity Watson and Caylin Kelly each netted 10 points.

For GPL, Halle Bauer and Madeline Prahl each scored 13 points, while Mali York added eight points.


Rapid City Stevens 51, Rapid City Central 40

RAPID CITY — Class AA No. 4 Rapid City Stevens earned a girls basketball win over Class AA No. 5 Rapid City Central on Friday.

Taaliyah Porter scored 15 points, while Bailee Sobczak recorded 11 points. Macey Wathen added nine points.

For the Cobblers, Sadie Glade netted 13 points, while Josie Hill and Adriana Young scored six points apiece.


Potter County 62, Sunshine Bible Academy 32

MILLER — Potter County raced past Sunshine Bible Academy for a girls basketball win on Friday.

Tyler Simon scored a game-high 25 points, while Ashlee Kaup netted 13 points and four steals. Kristie Lake chipped in seven points and five steals.

For SBA, Jakki Burma scored 16 points and 13 rebounds, while Aja Paul added six points and six rebounds.


De Smet 63, Colman-Egan 50

COLMAN — Class B No. 5 De Smet jumped out to a 19-5 first quarter lead and held off Colman-Egan for a girls basketball win on Friday.

Kennadi Buchholz netted 18 points and seven rebounds, while Emma Albrecht tallied 17 points. Jada Burke scored 10 points, seven rebounds, and four assists.

For CE, Mackenzie Hemmer scored 22 points and seven boards, while Brynlee Landis recorded 11 points. Lanie Mousel added nine points.


Highmore-Harrold 62, Iroquois/Doland 35

HIGHMORE — Highmore-Harrold cruised past Iroquois/Doland for a girls basketball win on Friday.

Letha Jessen scored 24 points and 13 rebounds, while Grace Knox tallied 14 points and nine rebounds.

For I/D, Katie Dubro scored 19 points.


Chester Area 69, Baltic 64

GARRETSON — Chester Area clipped Baltic for a girls basketball win at the Big East Conference Tournament on Friday. 

Chester Area’s Emery Larson recorded 27 points, while Emmerson Eppard added 15 points and 12 rebounds. Jacy Wolf had 10 points and Kaylor Geraets grabbed seven rebounds. 

Baltic’s Sami Polzin and Berklee Erickson finished with 21 points apiece. Cami Artz added 10 points and 12 rebounds. 


Garretson 52, Sioux Valley 44

CHESTER — Garretson topped Sioux Valley for a girls basketball win at the Big East Conference Tournament on Friday.

Logan Bly scored 20 points, 13 rebounds, and four steals.

For SV, Raegan Johnson scored 12 points, 11 rebounds, and three steals, while Isabelle Bloker tallied 11 points. Keyra Kruse added 10 points.


Tiospaye Topa 64, Takini 40

HURON — Three players scored in double-figures as Tiospaye Topa picked up a girls basketball win over Takini at the Dakota Oyate Challenge on Friday.

Kaylynn Holy Bear scored 21 points, while Leilani Bowker tallied 18 points and Alexie Bowker added 17 points.

For Takini, Halo Waloke scored 15 points, while Jynea St. John recorded nine points and Amiyah St. John added eight points.


Marty 75, Flandreau Indian 32

HURON — Hawk Bair and Jayla Bruguier combined for 49 points as Marty raced past Flandreau Indian for a girls basketball win at the Dakota Oyate Challenge on Friday.

Bair finished with 30 points, while Bruguier recorded 19 points. Genesis Patterson added nine points.

For Flandreau Indian, Angie Bell scored 14 points and Vivica Blacksmith added seven points.


Lower Brule 71, Tiospa Zina 38

HURON — Lower Brule raced past Tiospa Zina for a girls basketball win at the Dakota Oyate Challenge on Friday.

Courtney Traversie scored 17 points, while Brilyn LaRoche tallied 16 points. Kharmon Wells finished with 12 points, while Aralyn Defender and Marley Sazue each added eight points.

For the Wambdi, Alexia Quinn scored 15 points and Kennadee Bissonette added 10 points.


Crow Creek JV 65, Omaha Nation, Neb., 42

HURON — The Crow Creek JV picked up a girls basketball win over Omaha Nation, Neb. at the Dakota Oyate Challenge on Friday.

For Crow Creek JV, Ronessa Sazue scored 32 points and Taylor Scares the Hawk added 13 points.

Platte-Geddes 62, Colome 44

COLOME — Class B No. 5 Platte-Geddes pulled away from Colome for a boys basketball win on Friday. 

Caden Foxley powered the Black Panthers with 23 points, while Dawson Hoffman added 11 points. Jackson Neuman netted eight points and Joey Foxley finished with seven points. Tanner Dyk scored five points. 

Joseph Laprath tossed in 13 points and Colome’s Eli Vobr finished with 11 points. Brayden Seegers scored 10 points, while Caden Munroe added six points.

Winner 60, Mt. Vernon/Plankinton 51

PLANKINTON — Class A No. 3 Winner picked up a boys basketball win over Mt. Vernon/Plankinton on Friday.

Blake Volmer scored a game-high 15 points and seven rebounds, while Ethan Bartels finished with 14 points and Elijah Peterson contributed with 12 points. Shawn Hammerbeck scored eight points and Slade Cournoyer added seven points, seven rebounds, and six assists.

For MVP, Jordan Stoltz scored 13 points, while Reed Rus tallied 12 points and six steals. 

Lincoln Klooz added 11 points.


Hanson 52, Bridgewater-Emery 51

ALEXANDRIA — Hanson edged Bridgewater-Emery for a boys basketball win on Friday.

Ethan Cheeseman scored a game-high 24 points and 10 rebounds, while Jackson Jarding tallied 12 points and Luke Haiar added nine points.

For BE, Sutton Arend scored 23 points and nine boards, while Sam Hofer recorded 10 points and Aguer Van Sickle added eight points.

 

Howard 49, Ethan 46

HOWARD — Howard edged Ethan in a boys basketball contest on Friday. 

Luke Koepsell led the Tigers with 16 points, while Kolt Koepsell scored 13 points. Jace Sifore added 12 points. 

Ethan’s Riley Endres finished with 16 points and Jay Storm scored 12 points. Kaden Klumb added eight points. 


Bon Homme 60, Freeman 49

FREEMAN — Bon Homme picked up a boys basketball win over Freeman on Friday.

Riley Rothschadl scored 23 points, seven rebounds and three steals, while Karsten Kozak finished with 12 points and seven rebounds. Nate Hall added nine points and Carter Uecker dished out six assists.

For Freeman, Tate Sorensen scored 13 points, while Evan Scharberg added 11 points.


De Smet 93, Colman-Egan 32

COLMAN — Class B No. 1 De Smet used a 33-6 first quarter to race past Colman-Egan in a boys basketball game on Friday.

Damon Wilkinson scored a game-high 20 points, while Kalen Garry and Kadyn Fast each tallied 16 points. George Jensen contributed 13 points and Rett Osthus added nine points, four assists, and four steals.

For CE, Levi Baumberger scored 10 points, while Jackson Zwart added eight points.


Elkton-Lake Benton 50, Oldham-Ramona/Rutland 38

ELKTON — Elkton-Lake Benton held off Oldham-Ramona/Rutland for a boys basketball win on Friday.

Logan Kuehl scored 17 points and three steals, while Ryan Krog tallied 11 points and eight rebounds. Isaac Jaacks added nine points and seven boards.

For ORR, Orion Albertson scored 10 points and seven rebounds, while Will Matson and Will Olson tallied nine points each. Isaac Trygstad added eight points and 11 boards. 


Wolsey-Wessington 57, Kimball/White Lake 32

WOLSEY — Wolsey-Wessington picked up a boys basketball win over Kimball/White Lake on Friday.

WW’s Tate French led with 11 points and eight rebounds, while Payson Gohn scored 10 points. Carson Zomer recorded nine points and six rebounds. Blaze Herdman contributed five rebounds and four assists.

For KWL, Porter Miller and Ryder Michalek each scored eight points, while Dawson Miller scored seven points.


Corsica-Stickney 54, Menno 33

MENNO – Three players scored in double-figures as Corsica-Stickney picked up a boys basketball win over Menno on Friday.

Taven Burke scored 14 points, while Tyson Wentland tallied 11 points and Robert Nichols added 10 points.

For Menno, Tyler Massey recorded nine points, 13 rebounds, and five assists. Ajay Herrboldt and Austin Pillsbury each scored six points.


Aberdeen Christian 61, Wilmot 34

WILMOT — Class B No. 4 Aberdeen Christian cruised past Wilmot for a boys basketball win on Friday.

Jackson Isakson scored 17 points, while Malek Wieker tallied 15 points. Joey Johnson chipped in eight points and Andrew Brennan and Ethan Russell each added seven points.

For Wilmot, Trey Jurgens scored 17 points and Brayden Ebben added eight points.


Langford Area 61, Northwestern 54

LANGFORD — Jesse Keough and Ben Gustafson combined for 38 points and 15 rebounds to pace Langford Area to a boys basketball win over Northwestern on Friday. 

Keough led the Lions with 23 points and seven rebounds. Gustafson added 15 points and eight rebounds. Brayden Peterson posted nine points, while Aden Godel recorded six points. Jackson Bahr had five points.

Northwestern’s Quintin Fischbach finished with 19 points. Jude Ortmeier and Rush Larson scored 10 points apiece. Nathan Melius and Justin Haven scored six and five points, respectively. 


Harrisburg 73, Marshall, Minn., 59

HARRISBURG — Harrisburg downed Marshall, Minnesota, in a boys basketball contest on Friday. 

Ethan Determan led the Tigers with 20 points, while Jacoby Mehrman added 18 points. Gavin Aasheim scored 17 points. 


Sioux Falls Roosevelt 64, Sioux Falls Washington 43

SIOUX FALLS — Class AA No. 1 Sioux Falls Roosevelt pulled away from Class AA No. 4 Sioux Falls Washington for a boys basketball win on Friday. 

Vance Borchers led Roosevelt with 18 points and eight rebounds. Marcus Phillips added 11 points, eight rebounds and four steals. Micah Johnson, Sam McMillan, Hayden Brown and Justin Shaw scored six points apiece. McMillan added five rebounds, while Thoralingo Gilo had six rebounds. Borchers and Phillips added eight rebounds apiece.

Washington’s Mikele Kambalo scored 16 points, while Joe Uttecht had seven points and four assists. Mandalla Mohammed and Cole Peterson scored six points apiece. 


Lower Brule 86, Marty 54

HURON — Class B No. 3 Lower Brule pulled away from Marty in the Dakota Oyate Challenge semifinals on Friday. 

Keshaume Thigh led the win with 23 points, while Gavin Thigh scored 16 points. Brian LaRoche Jr., and Lane Gray scored 12 points apiece. Ellwyn Langdeau added 12 points. 

Marty’s Lawrence Rouse scored 15 points, while Tate Elk Soldier scored 10 points. Haepi Elk Soldier and Terrill Rave scored seven points apiece. Benicio Zephier scored six points. 


Tiospa Zina 98, Flandreau Indian School 36

HURON — Tiospa Zina piled up 57 first-half points en route to a boys basketball win over Flandreau Indian at the Dakota Oyate Challenge on Friday. 

Juron Adams finished with 21 points in the win, while Caleb Barse added 13 points and Reondre Greeley logged 11 points. Mike Smith scored eight points, while Devin Long Crow and Nate Thompson scored seven points apiece. Jasiah Red Bear, Storm Sierra, C.J. Bissonette and Tate Never Misses A Shot scored six points apiece. Javyn Adams scored five points.

Flandreau Indian’s Malik Longie scored 15 points and Kyler Smith added 12 points. Dillon Omeasoo scored six points. 


Omaha Nation, Neb., 89, Takini 25

HURON — Omaha Nation, Neb. cruised by Takini to pick up a boys basketball win at the Dakota Oyate Challenge on Friday.

For Takini, Randen Eagle Chasing scored 16 points.


Crow Creek JV 64, Tiospaye Topa 33

HURON — Crow Creek JV picked up a boys basketball win over Tiospaye Topa at the Dakota Oyate Challenge on Friday.

Bradyn Brother of All and Josiah Kirkie each scored 11 points, and Oscar Walking Bull tallied 10 points. Brad Strickland added eight points.

For Tiospaye Topa, Gary Bad Warrior scored 13 points, while Manuel Swan III added eight points.
