Girls basketball 

Parkston 49, Hanson 45

PARKSTON — Parkston held off Hanson in a girls basketball game on Tuesday.

Allison Ziebart and Abby Hohn each scored 15 points and five rebounds, while Brielle Bruening added 13 points.

Hanson’s Annalyse Weber had 12 points, five boards, three assists, and four steals, while Carlie Goergen added nine points and four rebounds. Alyssa Moschell, Vanessa Doyle, and Kate Haiar had six points each.


Corsica-Stickney 65, Platte-Geddes 24

CORSICA — Class B No. 2 Corsica-Stickney coasted past Platte-Geddes for a girls basketball win on Tuesday.

Avery Broughton, Rachel Gerlach and Morgan Clites scored 14 points apiece. Broughton added nine rebounds and four assists. Gerlach grabbed five rebounds, while Clites dished out four assists. Payton DeLange tossed in 13 points and collected six rebounds. Casey Tolsma finished with eight points, five rebounds and four assists.  

Cadence Van Zee led the Black Panthers with nine points, while Regan Hoffman had six points and four rebounds. Karly VanDerWerff had five points. 


Winner 63, Chamberlain 42

CHAMBERLAIN — Bella Swedlund logged a double-double to power Winner to a girls basketball win over Chamberlain on Tuesday.

Swedlund finished with 30 points and 11 rebounds, while Emma Jorgensen added nine points. Kelsey Sachtjen and Ellie Brozik scored eight points apiece. Sachtjen had six rebounds and Brozik grabbed five rebounds. 

Chamberlain’s Mya Knippling logged 19 points and seven rebounds. Kinsey Evans finished with 15 points and four rebounds. Jayslee Petersen grabbed six rebounds and Jayd Chmela handed out four assists. 


Arlington 48, Madison 35

MADISON — Arlington used a big first half to pull away from Madison in a girls basketball game on Tuesday.

Hadley Carlson scored a game-high 20 points and eight rebounds, while Jolyssa Steffensen added 11 points. Addalyn Steffensen added nine points.

Zoey Gerry led Madison with 13 points and seven rebounds, while Abby Morse added nine points.


Bon Homme 58, Parker 56

TYNDALL — Bon Homme held off Parker for a girls basketball win on Tuesday.

Erin Heusinkveld recorded a double-double of 20 points and 11 rebounds, while Jurni Vavruska scored 16 points. Camille Sykora recorded six boards, Jaden Kortan had four assists, and Olivia Bares added four steals.

For Parker, Alexis Even scored 17 points, while Ellie Travnicek added 13 points.


Centerville 67, Marty 44

CENTERVILLE — Centerville pulled away from Marty for a girls basketball win on Tuesday.

Thea Gust led the Tornadoes with 15 points and four assists, while Bailey Hansen recorded a double-double of 14 points and 13 rebounds. Mikayla Heesch added 10 points and three assists.

Marty’s Hawk Bair scored a game-high 22 points.


Mount Vernon/Plankinton 47, Lennox 22

LENNOX — Mount Vernon/Plankinton ran past Lennox in a girls basketball game on Tuesday.

The Titans were led by Maria Baker with 17 points, while Emilee Fox scored 16 points.

Stats for Lennox were not reported.


Andes Central/Dakota Christian 53, Gregory 47

LAKE ANDES — Andes Central/Dakota Christian turned a four-point halftime deficit into a six-point girls basketball win on Tuesday. 

Josie Brouwer led ACDC with 23 points and three steals. Allison Muckey added 11 points and seven rebounds. Kylie Olson scored nine points and grabbed five rebounds. Lexie VanderPol had six rebounds and five blocked shots, while Isabella Brouwer added four assists. 

Gregory’s Jessy Jo VanDerWerff tossed in 16 points, while Cassidy Keiser had 12 points. Brooklyn Kenzy logged nine points, eight rebounds and three steals. Sierra Rencountre added eight rebounds. 


Highmore-Harrold 52, Stanley County 22

HIGHMORE — Letha Jessen’s double-double helped lead Highmore-Harrold to a girls basketball win over Stanley County on Tuesday.

Jessen scored 22 points and 13 rebounds, while Grace Knox recorded 11 points.

Jordyn Sosa led Stanley County with eight points, five rebounds, and three assists. Taylee Stroup added seven points.


James Valley Christian 52, Sunshine Bible Academy 14

MILLER — James Valley Christian used a 24-2 first quarter to pull away from Sunshine Bible Academy in a girls basketball game on Tuesday.

Brenna Held led JVC with 13 points and nine boards, while Karilyn Wieting had 10 points and nine rebounds. Betra Amare led SBA with six points, while Jakki Burma and Becca Hofman scored four points each.


Rapid City Stevens 62, Spearfish 52

RAPID CITY — Class AA No. 5 Rapid City Stevens used a 22-6 fourth quarter to put away Spearfish in girls basketball action on Tuesday. 

Taaliyah Porter finished with 16 points, six rebounds and four steals. Jayda McNabb added 13 points and six boards. Jillian Delzer logged 10 points, while Megan Balhoun had seven points. 

Spearfish’s Mya Kochuten finished with 14 points, while Stella Marcus added 10 points. Sofie Guthmiller tossed in eight points, while Brylee Grubb and Jozie Dana had six points apiece. 


Tri-Valley 51, Baltic 34

COLTON — Tri-Valley picked up a girls basketball win over Baltic on Tuesday. 

Paige Jewett finished with 21 points, while Steph Buchmann and Lauren Grinde had six points apiece. 

Baltic’s Sami Polzin scored 12 points and Berklee Erickson scored nine points. 


Tea Area 54, Vermillion 44 

VERMILLION — Tea Area used a 19-13 fourth quarter to pull away from Vermillion in girls basketball action on Tuesday.

Katie Vasecka led the Titans with 24 points and eight boards. Kendra McKinney logged eight points and four rebounds. Mara Grant finished with seven points and five rebounds. Brynn Schupner had six points and five rebounds, while Stella Peterson had five points. 

Vermillion’s Kasey Hanson and Brooke Jensen scored 15 points apiece, while Jensen grabbed five rebounds. Leah Herbster finished with eight rebounds, while Brooklyn Voss had 11 points and six boards. 


Alcester-Hudson 44, Avon 43

ALCESTER — Alcester-Hudson used a 10-2 fourth quarter to edge Avon in girls basketball action on Tuesday. 

Elly Doering led the Cubs with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Ella Serck added 11 points and 17 boards. Kayleigh Thompson had seven points. 

Avon’s Courtney Sees finished with 10 points, while Tiffany Pelton posted nine points and nine boards. Samantha Brodeen added nine points, while Katie Gretschmann had seven points and four assists. McKenna Kocmich scored six points. 


Garretson 57, Dell Rapids St. Mary 47

DELL RAPIDS — Garretson broke a 10-10 first quarter tie en route to a girls basketball win over Dell Rapids St. Mary on Tuesday.

Jaelyn Benson recorded 13 points, while Jordyn Williams and Lily Ranschau each scored 12 points.

For the Cardinals, Madala Hanson tallied 15 points and Ella Griffin scored 13 points. Sydney Klein collected eight rebounds.

Boys Basketball

Harrisburg 68, Mitchell 59

MITCHELL — Harrisburg broke a 42-42 third quarter tie to win a boys basketball game over Class AA No. 5 Mitchell on Tuesday.

Ethan Determan led Harrisburg with 27 points and six rebounds, while Jacoby Mehrman recorded 16 points and seven rebounds. Maxwell Knutson added nine points.

Caden Hinker led Mitchell with 23 points and Dylan Soulek added 15 points. Steele Morgan recorded nine points and eight rebounds.


Centerville 41, Marty 39

CENTERVILLE — After trailing much of their game against Marty the Centerville boys pulled ahead late for a basketball win on Tuesday. 

Leny Ciprian led Centerville with 12 points, four rebounds, four assists and four steals. Cole Edberg finished with ten points and eight rebounds. Logan Bobzin and Owen Hunter each scored eight for the Tornadoes. 

Lawrence Rouse led Marty with 15 points while Benicio Zephier added 13 points. 


Potter County 71, Mobridge-Pollock 51

GETTYSBURG —Potter County improved to 5-0 on the season as two players reached double figures in a Tuesday night win. 

Cooper Logan finished with 36 points, 13 rebounds and seven steals. Drake Bassett added 15 points for the Battlers. Grant Luikens added nine points and six rebounds. Seth Sharp and Logan Decker added six boards apiece. 

Thane Beheler finished with 12 points and six rebounds to lead Mobridge-Pollock. Caelan McCollam and Shane Henderson scored seven points apiece. McCollam grabbed seven rebounds, while Jackson Eisemann had six points and four rebounds. 


Gregory 63, Andes Central/Dakota Christian 36

LAKE ANDES — Gregory pulled away from Andes Central/Dakota Christian a boys basketball win on Tuesday. 

Daniel Mitchell led the Gorillas with 24 points and nine rebounds. Cruz Klundt added 11 points, six steals and four assists. Carson Klundt added eight points and four assists. Jordan Songer recorded eight points and six rebounds. Rane Kenzy posted five rebounds. 

ACDC’s Rizon Clark finished with 11 points and Cameron Sybesma added 10 points. Mason Olson recorded eight points and seven rebounds. 


Lennox 60, Mount Vernon/Plankinton 46

LENNOX — Lennox held off Mount Vernon/Plankinton for a boys basketball win on Tuesday.

Reed Rus and Jordan Stoltz led the Titans with 12 points apiece. Rus added nine points and four assists. Ryan Chapman and Mason Hetland scored six points apiece, while Lincoln Klooz added five points and four rebounds. 

No stats were reported for Lennox. 


Winner 42, Chamberlain 26

CHAMBERLAIN — Blake Volmer notched a double-double to lift Class A No. 4 Winner to a boys basketball win over Chamberlain on Tuesday.

Volmer finished with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Shawn Hammerbeck and Elijah Peterson scored seven points apiece, while Slade Cournoyer added five points and four rebounds. 

Chamberlain’s Sellyck McManus finished with 13 points and six boards. Dakota Munger added five points and Etan Balestat grabbed six rebounds. 



James Valley Christian 75, Sunshine Bible Academy 23

MILLER — James Valley Christian cruised past Sunshine Bible Academy for a boys basketball win on Tuesday.

Isaac Korell led the Vikings with 19 points and six rebounds, while Landon Wallman recorded 14 points. Jerrad Wallman had 12 points and five boards and Ethan Bartholow added 10 points, seven rebounds, and six assists. Landon Wager added nine assists.

The Crusaders were led by Nolan Triebwasser with 17 points and six rebounds.


Hitchcock-Tulare 55, Lake Preston 48

LAKE PRESTON — Hitchcock-Tulare earned a boys basketball win over Lake Preston on Tuesday.

Jackson Maynard scored 15 points, while Zach Gilbert recorded nine points and T.J. Salmen added eight points.

Lake Preston’s Josh McMasters scored a game-high 19 points. Riley Casper recorded 11 points, eight rebounds, four assists, and six blocks, and Jake Larsen added eight points.


Elkton-Lake Benton 48, Estelline/Hendricks 46

ELKTON — Elkton-Lake Benton edged Estelline/Hendricks for a boys basketball win on Tuesday.

Ryan Krog led all scorers with 19 points and six rebounds, while Miles Harming scored 11 points and Lane Thompson added seven points and five boards. Isaac Jaacks recorded seven rebounds.

Estelline/Hendricks was led by Joe McAninch with 16 points, while Braxton Saathoff added 14 points.


Dakota Valley 62, Sergeant Bluff-Luton, Iowa, 45

SERGEANT BLUFF — Isaac Bruns logged a double-double to pace Class A No. 1 Dakota Valley to a boys basketball win over Sergeant Bluff-Luton, Iowa, on Tuesday. 

Bruns recorded 26 points and 14 boards, while Jaxon Hennies and Randy Rosenquist had 11 points apiece. 


Dell Rapids St. Mary 33, Garretson 25

DELL RAPIDS — Dell Rapids St. Mary earned a boys basketball win over Garretson on Tuesday.

Dylan Mathis led the Cardinals with 13 points.

Garretson’s Cooper Long recorded nine points.


Tea Area 68, Vermillion 55

VERMILLION — Four players scored in double figures to lead Tea Area to a boys basketball win on Tuesday.

Cael Lundin led the Titans with 19 points and seven rebounds. Jonah Kocer and Jeff Worth scored 14 points apiece. Klayton Sattler added 10 points and four rebounds. 

Vermillion’s Jake Jensen tossed in 21 points and grabbed five rebounds. Charlie Ward added 15 points and eight boards. Nick Sorensen recorded 14 points and eight boards. 


Rapid City Stevens 68, Spearfish 53

RAPID CITY — Rapid City Stevens had four players score in double-figures as they raced past Spearfish for a boys basketball win on Tuesday.

Jaden Haefs scored a game-high 17 points, while Nate Kindred tallied 13 points and eight boards. Ben Goldy and Kolin Ray added 11 points each. Goldy also had eight rebounds.

Brayden Delahoyde recorded 16 points and six rebounds to lead the Spartans, while Ryan Heinert added 14 points.


Alcester-Hudson 38, Avon 31

ALCESTER — Alcester-Hudson used a 12-7 final quarter to pull away from Avon in boys basketball action on Tuesday. 

Dominic Van Egdom and Etha Bovil scored eight points apiece. Jose Topete-Lopez added seven points and 12 rebounds. Evan Brown recorded five points, while Owen Brovil finished with six points and four points. Caden Winquist grabbed five rebounds. 

Avon’s Kley Heumiller recorded 11 points and 16 rebounds. Lincoln Thury finished with nine points and six rebounds. Eli Watchorn added five points and four rebounds, while Riley Rucktaeschel had six rebounds.
