Mitchell 69, Pierre 54

PIERRE — Class AA No. 5 Mitchell pulled away from Pierre for a boys basketball win on Thursday. 

Caden Hinker poured in a career-high 35 points, grabbed eight rebounds, hit four 3-pointers and blocked three shots. Steele Morgan added 14 points and eight rebounds. Dylan Soulek logged 11 points, while Charlie McCardle had six points and four rebounds. 

Pierre’s Matthew Hanson finished with 18 points, while Lincoln Kienholz had 15 points and five boards. Christian Busch added seven points and four rebounds. Jackson Edman finished with seven rebounds and four points. Jett Zabel added six points.

Platte-Geddes 57, Mount Vernon/Plankinton 50

PLANKINTON — Platte-Geddes outlasted Mount Vernon/Plankinton for a boys basketball win on Thursday. 

Caden Foxley led the Black Panthers with 10 points, while Hayes Rabenberg added nine points. 

MVP’s Reed Rus logged 18 points, seven steals, six rebounds and five assists. Jordan Stoltz added 13 points, seven rebounds and five blocked shots. Blaine Bohr and Mason Hetland scored six points apiece.

Mobridge-Pollock 66, Crow Creek 43

MOBRIDGE — Mobridge-Pollock built a 31-19 halftime lead and picked up a boys basketball win over Crow Creek on Thursday. 

Jackson Eisemann led the Tigers with 17 points, six rebounds and four assists. Caelan McCollam added 14 points and nine rebounds. Ashton Pfitzer finished with a 10-point, 14-rebound double-double. Brady Bauer scored nine points, while Thane Beheler had six points. 

Crow Creek’s Jeremiah Shields and Talyn Comes Flying scored 11 points apiece. Lance Wind netted eight points, while Julian Eagle scored six points. Xavier Wind added five points. 


Hamlin 72, Milbank 36

HAMLIN — Tyson Stevenson and Easton Neuendorf combined for 34 points to power Hamlin to a boys basketball win over Milbank on Thursday. 

Stevenson finished with 20 points, while Neuendorf added 14 points. Brennan Keszler scored seven points, while Evan Stormo and Jackson Wadsworth had six points apiece. 

Milbank’s Bennett Schwenn recorded nine points, while Wylie Mursu scored eight points. Garrett Mertens and Aiden Ludvigson scored six and five points, respectively. 


Dakota Valley 65, Hartington Cedar Catholic, Neb., 43

HARTINGTON, Neb. — Class A No. 1 Dakota Valley coasted past Hartington Cedar Catholic, Nebraska, for a boys basketball win on Thursday. 

Isaac Bruns led Dakota Valley with 19 points, while Randy Rosenquist added 15 points and eight steals. Brayden Major added 11 points. 


Flandreau 54, Madison 40

MADISON — Class A No. 5 Flandreau used a 16-2 second quarter to pull away from Madison for a boys basketball win on Thursday.

Tash Lunday scored a game-high 22 points and eight rebounds, while Liam Streitz tallied 10 points. Chase LeBrun recorded nine points and Alex Anderson added eight points.

Madison’s Aiden Jensen scored 13 points, while Aspen Dahl recorded nine points and Nate Ricke added eight points.

 

Arlington 67, Elkton-Lake Benton 60

ELKTON — Ryker Erstad’s big performance led Arlington past Elkton-Lake Benton in a boys basketball game on Thursday.

Erstad finished with a game-high 30 points, while Britt Carlson tallied 19 points. Blake Madsen scored nine points and Caden Letsche added eight points.

Ryan Krog led the Elks with 22 points, while Logan Kuehl scored 19 points and Aiden Erickson added eight points and seven assists.


Leola-Frederick Area 57, Iroquois/Doland 25

FREDERICK — Three players scored 10 points apiece to lead Leola/Frederick Area to a boys basketball win over Iroquois/Doland on Thursday.

Colton Spitzer, Hans Lapka and Noah Kippley each scored 10 points apiece to pace the Titans. 

 

Parker 62, Hanson 50

PARKER — Parker picked up a boys basketball win over Hanson on Thursday. 

Carter Robertson paced Parker with 19 points and five rebounds. Davin Fuller finished with 14 points and 10 boards, while Jaivyn DeBoer had 12 points and seven rebounds. Ray Travnicek scored six points and Seth VanVliet added five points. 

Hanson’s Jayce Slaba scored 12 points to lead the Beavers. Luke Haiar and Ethan Cheeseeman scored 11 points apiece. Cheeseman added seven rebounds. Hunter Robinson scored eight points and Isayah Price had six points.


Aberdeen Central 67, Brookings 56

BROOKINGS — Aberdeen Central pulled away from Brookings for a boys basketball win on Thursday. 

Sam Rohlfs led the Golden Eagles with 25 points, five rebounds and three steals. Alec Voegele added 14 points, five rebounds and four assists. A.J. Hase scored 12 points. 


Deuel 61, Britton-Hecla 39

BRITTON — Three players scored in double-figures as Deuel raced past Britton-Hecla for a boys basketball win on Thursday.

Braydon Simon and Naethan Lovre each scored 14 points, while Cooper Schiernbeck totaled 13 points. Zane Bingham added eight points.

Britton-Hecla’s Dawson Treeby netted nine points, while Aidan Fredrickson scored eight points.. BoDell Davidson added seven points.


Tri-Valley 50, Beresford 47

BERESFORD — Noah Haynes drilled a 3-pointer at the buzzer to lift Tri-Valley to a boys basketball win over Beresford on Thursday. 

Haynes finished with 16 points, while Lance DeWitt added 12 points. Connor Christensen netted 10 points and Braden Oyen scored five points. 

Beresford’s Tate VanOtterloo tossed in a game-high 31 points, while Austin Hamm scored five points. 


Deubrook Area 57, Estelline/Hendricks 36

ESTELLINE — Deubrook Area used a 23-7 third quarter to race past Estelline/Hendricks in a boys basketball game on Thursday.

Andrew Trooien tallied 20 points, while Sutton Fritz and Nick Bowne each scored seven points.

Dawson Bury led the Redhawks with nine points, six assists, and five steals, while Braxton Saathoff recorded eight points.


Irene-Wakonda 53, Centerville 42

CENTERVILLE — Irene-Wakonda pulled away from Centerville for a boys basketball win on Thursday. 

Miles Pollman paced the Eagles with 29 points and 11 rebounds, while Jake Kuhl logged five points, nine rebounds and five steals. Jens Hansen scored six points, while Dashel Spurrell added five points.

Centerville’s Cole Edberg and Logan Bobzin scored 14 points apiece. Leny Ciprian finished with six points and five rebounds. Malachi Brouwer added five points. 


Viborg-Hurley 58, Gayville-Volin 35

HURLEY — Hayden Gilbert logged a double-double to pace Viborg-Hurley to a boys basketball win over Gayville-Volin on Thursday.

Gilbert finished with 17 points, 12 rebounds and four steals. Gage Goettertz recorded 10 points and five boards. Blake Schoedermeier added 14 points and six boards. Kobee Sherman scored five points. 

Gayville-Volin’s Andrew Gustad finished with 11 points, while Spencer Karstens scored nine points. Kyle Hirsch added eight points.

Beresford 58, Tri-Valley 57

BERESFORD — Ella Merriman’s game-winning basket with five seconds left propelled Beresford to a girls basketball win over Tri-Valley on Thursday. 

Merriman scored 27 points, while Ady Hansen added 15 points and 10 rebounds.

Tri-Valley’s Lauren Grinde scored 22 points and Paige Jewett tallied 11 points.


Centerville 53, Irene-Wakonda 52 (2OT)

CENTERVILLE — Centerville edged Irene-Wakonda in double overtime in a girls basketball game on Thursday.

Thea Gust led the Tornadoes with 18 points, while Mikayla Heesch scored 12 points and Mackenzie Meyer added 11 points. Bailey Hansen grabbed 18 rebounds.

The Eagles’ Madison Orr recorded a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds, while Katie Knodel scored 10 points. Nora O’Malley and Emma Marshall each added nine points.


Corsica-Stickney 53, Winner 40

WINNER — Class B No. 2 Corsica-Stickney used a 16-8 third quarter to pull away from Winner for a girls basketball victory on Thursday. 

Rachel Gerlach led the Jaguars with 18 points, five assists and four rebounds. Avery Broughton logged a 16-point, 16-rebound and 11-assist triple-double. Casey Tolsma added 10 points and five rebounds. Morgan Clites finished with seven points and six assists.

Winner’s Bella Swedlund finished with 19 points and eight rebounds. Kelsey Sachtjen added 12 points and six rebounds, while Ellie Brozik had six points. 


Andes Central/Dakota Christian 61, Mitchell Christian 25

MITCHELL — Andes Central/Dakota Christian jumped out to a 16-3 first-quarter lead en route to a girls basketball win over Mitchell Christian on Thursday. 

Josie Brouwer led ACDC with 23 points, while Allison Muckey added 14 points and five steals. Halle Olson grabbed six rebounds, while Isabella Brouwer had seven steals. 

Mitchell Christian’s Audrey Hofer finished with 20 points and five rebounds. Keely O’Neill recorded five points and six rebounds. 


Mount Vernon/Plankinton 46, Platte-Geddes 33

PLANKINTON — Mount Vernon/Plankinton picked up a 13-point girls basketball win over Platte-Geddes on Thursday. 

Emilee Fox finished with 13 points, while Reagan Rus added 12 points. Maria Baker added nine points. 

Platte-Geddes’ Cadence VanZee scored 14 points. 


De Smet 50, Lake Preston 15

DE SMET — Class B No. 5 De Smet led 18-0 after the first quarter and picked up a girls basketball win over Lake Preston on Thursday.

Kennadi Buchholz finished with 12 points in the win. Mirra Beck scored nine points. Jada Burke added six points, while Emma Albrecht and Jacie McCune scored five points apiece. 

Lake Preston’s Marissa Rober scored six points and Faith Steffensen added five points. 


Arlington 62, Elkton-Lake Benton 33

ELKTON — Arlington had three players score in double-figures as they cruised to a girls basketball win over Elkton-Lake Benton on Thursday.

Hadley Carlson totaled 19 points and 14 rebounds, while Addalyn Steffensen tallied 18 points. Harley Johnson scored 15 points and Jo Steffensen had seven steals.

Tevan Erickson led the Elks with nine points, while Rachael Krog tallied five rebounds and six steals.


Sioux Falls Washington 66, Sioux Falls Jefferson 38

SIOUX FALLS — Four players scored in double-figures as Class AA No. 1 Sioux Falls Washington defeated Sioux Falls Jefferson in a girls basketball game on Thursday.

Ndjakale Mwenentanda scored a game-high 23 points and nine rebounds, while Alexus Motley recorded 11 points. Brooklyn Harpe had a double-double of 11 points and 13 rebounds, while Hannah Harpe tallied 10 points and six boards.

For the Cavaliers, Taliyah Hayes scored 14 points, while Ella Silvernail recorded nine points. 


Mobridge-Pollock 68, Crow Creek 59

MOBRIDGE — Four players scored in double-figures as Mobridge-Pollock picked up a girls basketball win over Crow Creek on Thursday.

Landyn Henderson led the Tigers with 20 points and 11 rebounds, while Mariah Goehring finished with 18 points. Heidi Olson stuffed the stat sheet with 11 points, eight rebounds, seven rebounds, and five steals, and Reagan Weisbeck added 10 points and nine rebounds.

For Crow Creek, Angelina LeBeau scored 19 points and eight rebounds, while Rozee Drapeau finished with 10 points. Audrey Drapeau and Nateela Hislaw each contributed eight points. 


Aberdeen Christian 61, Wakpala 39

ABERDEEN — Mallory Miller logged a double-double to power Class B No. 3 Aberdeen Christian to a girls basketball win over Wakpala on Thursday. 

Miller finished with 20 points and 12 boards. Hanna Miller added 12 points. Grace Kaiser added nine points and six rebounds. 

Wakpala’s Ceymore Eagleman tossed in 20 points. 


Sioux Falls Christian 55, Tea Area 48

TEA — Three players scored in double figures to lead Sioux Falls Christian to a girls basketball win over Tea Area on Thursday. 

Ellie Lems finished with 17 points and eight rebounds. Jaxsyn Swift finished with 12 points and five rebounds. Kylah vanDonkersgoed added 10 points and five rebounds. Rachel VanNieuwenhuyzen added eight points and five rebounds.

Tea Area’s Katie Vasecka finished with 21 points and seven rebounds. Brynn Schupner added 17 points, while Kendra McKinney had five points. 


Deubrook Area 58, Estelline/Hendricks 32

ESTELLINE — Deubrook Area pulled away from Estelline/Hendricks to pick up a girls basketball win on Thursday.

Emma Vandermeer scored a game-high 16 points. Kadence Bowne, Brooke Koppatschek, and Kyarra Blum each tallied eight points.

For the Redhawks, Kate Wegner scored 14 points and Sadie Johnson added 10 points.


Northwestern 49, Ipswich 35

MELLETTE — Northwestern picked up a girls basketball win over Ipswich on Thursday.

Adriana Ratigan scored 19 points and six rebounds, while Ella Haven recorded 11 points and Teryn Sparling added nine points. Jessica Boekelheide grabbed eight rebounds.

For Ipswich, Kaitlyn Bierman scored 26 points and six steals. Quincy Olivier grabbed 10 rebounds.

HURLEY — Viborg-Hurley used a 17-3 third quarter to pull away from Gayville-Volin in a girls basketball game on Thursday.

RAPID CITY — Class A No. 5 Rapid City Central built a 28-15 first-half lead and picked up a girls basketball win over Sturgis on Thursday. 

Sadie Glade led the Cobblers with 15 points, while Aaliyah Jones scored nine points. Josie Hill added eight points and five boards. Wicahpi Cuny tossed in five points. 

Sturgis’ Keeley Heikes scored nine points, while Kaylee Whatley and Tatum Ligtenberg scored six points apiece.
