Lower Brule 53, Crazy Horse 49

MITCHELL — Lower Brule won its third straight Dakota Oyate Challenge boys basketball championship on Saturday at the Corn Palace. 

Lower Brule’s Lane Gray scored 15 points and Quentin McBride scored 14 points. Peyton Palmier had 11 points and Marley Carpenter recorded nine points. 

Crazy Horse’s Devaughn Between Lodges scored 15 points and Noah Iron Horse added 11 points. Donnie Ghost Dog had seven points and Richard Pumpkin Seed scored six points. 


Highmore-Harrold 46, Ipswich 44

IPSWICH — Highmore-Harrold held off Ipswich for a boys basketball win on Saturday. 

Highmore-Harrold’s Trake Cowan finished with 15 points and 16 rebounds. Aidan Ferens logged 13 points. Carson Stephenson posted seven points and five rebounds. Caleb Roth had five points and three rebounds. 

Ipswich’s Trevor Heinz posted 16 points and four rebounds. Chet Peterson had nine points and 13 rebounds. Tucker Kadlec logged 10 rebounds. 


Stanley County 69, Cheyenne-Eagle Butte 59 

FORT PIERRE — Stanley County held off Cheyenne-Eagle Butte for a boys basketball win on Saturday.

Stanley County’s Broch Zeeb finished with 22 points, while Paxton Deal had 12 points. Eddie Duffy scored 11 points and Austin Boxley scored 10 points. Brendon Bothwell scored seven points and Blaize Frost added five points.

CEB’s Easton Lawrence scored 14 points and Levi Elk Nation added 12 points. Nehemiah Veaux posted 10 points and Damien Clown scored eight points. Austin Johnson had seven points. 


Leola-Frederick Area 60, Platte-Geddes 52

IRENE — Three players scored in double figures to pace Leola-Frederick Area to a boys basketball win on Saturday.

Leola-Frederick Area’s Ethan Petrich posted 13 points. Gavin Nickelson and Noah Kippley scored 10 points apiece. Westyn Thorpe scored nine points and Brayden Sumption added five points. 

Platte-Geddes’ Tanner Dyk scored 17 points and Hayden Sprik logged 12 points. Skyler Hanten scored six points, while Parker Bailey and Braxton Bruekelman scored five points apiece. 


Sioux Falls Christian 61, Hamlin 53

MADISON — Class A No. 1 Sioux Falls Christian held off Class A No. 2 Hamlin for a boys basketball win on Saturday.

Sioux Falls Christian’s Griffen Goodbary logged 25 points and Cole Snyder had 17 points.

Hamlin’s Easton Neuendorf scored 15 points and Tyson Stevenson finished with 10 points. 


Dell Rapids 56, Milbank 48 

MADISON — Dell Rapids held off Milbank for a boys basketball win on Saturday.

Jack Henry logged 18 points and Rhett Kloth added 12 points. Tad Tjaden scored nine points. 

Milbank’s Yohana Ajwanga scored 17 points and Garrett Mertens added nine points. Joe Schulte and Jackson Wildung scored eight points apiece. 


Tea Area 61, Clark-Willow Lake 35

MADISON — Tea Area topped Clark-Willow Lake for a boys basketball win on Saturday.

Tea Area’s Marshall Smythe finished with 13 points, while Sam Almas had eight points. Garrett Wiebenga scored nine points. Brenner Konrad added eight points and four rebounds. Grif Wiebenga had six points and seven rebounds. 

Clark-Willow Lake’s Emmerson Larson logged nine points and three rebounds. Griffin Musser and Sullivan Felberg scored six points apiece. 


Dakota Valley 62, Groton Area 57 

MADISON — Dakota Valley clipped Groton Area for a boys basketball win on Saturday.

Dakota Valley’s Jaxson Wingert finished with 23 points and 13 rebounds. Luke Bruns had 14 points, while Logan Collette posted 11 points and five rebounds.

Groton Area’s Jacob Zak had 16 points and Ryder Johnson finished with 14 points. Lane Tietz added 13 points. 


Elk Point-Jefferson 62, Sisseton 47 

MADISON — Elk Point-Jefferson held off Sisseton for a boys basketball win on Saturday.

EPJ’s Ashton Fairbanks finished with 15 points and Evan Fornia logged 12 points. Kayden Moore had 11 points and Carson Timmins added nine points.

Sisseton’s Nate Tchida had 13 points. Dana Bravebull and Christian Shepherd scored eight points apiece. Hayden Hellwig logged six points. 


Aberdeen Roncalli 62, Madison 51

MADISON — Maddox Miller and Keegan Stewart combined to score 45 points and 10 3-pointers to pace Aberdeen Roncalli to a boys basketball win on Saturday.

Miller finished with 25 points and hit five 3-pointers. Stewart had 20 points and hit five 3-pointers. Brody Weinmeister had eight points.

Madison’s Ben Brooks recorded 16 points and four rebounds. Charles Callahan had 14 points and four 3-pointers. Eli Barger had eight points and Shane Veenhof added seven points. 


Canton 81, Deuel 79 

MADISON — Canton clipped Deuel for a boys basketball win on Saturday.

Canton’s Matt Anderson finished with 24 points and 10 rebounds. Braxton Mulder had 23 points, five assists and three 3-pointers. Dagim Mesfin scored 10 points. Cain Wallner and Pierce Mastalir scored seven points apiece, while Julius Moore had six points.

Deuel’s Gabe Sather finished with 30 points and nine rebounds. Trey Maaland had 27 points, seven rebounds and four 3-pointers. Troy Jenson scored nine points. Caleb Ronne had six points, while Caden Finnesand added five points and four boards. 


Lennox 76, Tiospa Zina 49 

MADISON — Four players scored in double figures to pace Lennox to a boys basketball win over Tiospa Zina on Saturday.

Lennox’s Porter Ihnen recorded 27 points. Tate Gerdes and Teegan Musser scored 15 points apiece. Braxton Musser had 12 points.

Tiospa Zina’s Carvin Fish scored 28 points. 


West Central 72, Webster Area 38 

MADISON — West Central coasted past Webster Area for a boys basketball win on Saturday.

West Central’s Connor Mebius logged 14 points and Will Kuhl scored 11 points. Carter Tetzlaff logged eight points and Crew Heier had seven points.

Webster Area’s Jack Shoemaker logged 11 points and Jeron McCreary scored eight points. Ian Lesnar added seven points. 


Tri-Valley 87, Redfield 42

MADISON — Tri-Valley rolled past Redfield for a boys basketball win on Saturday. 

Tri-Valley’s Brady Jewett logged 23 points and four rebounds. Logan Ellison had 13 points, while Alex Winger scored 10 points. 

Redfield’s Tristen O’Daniel scored 19 points and added six rebounds. Grady Hulscher logged 12 points, while Justin Ratigan had eight rebounds. 


Vermillion 57, Parkston 38 

MADISON — Vermillion pulled past Parkston for a boys basketball win on Saturday.

Vermillion’s Trey Hansen finished with 22 points and eight rebounds. Carter Hansen had 16 points and six rebounds. Conner Roerig had six points. 

Parkston’s Luke Bormann finished with nine points, while Will Jodozi finished with 12 points. James Deckert had eight points and Brycen Bruening scored six points.
