Castlewood Ravens 11, Clark Traders 4

CLARK — Zach Hirsch and Jaydon Cordell each belted home runs to pace the Castlewood Ravens to an Eastern Dakota League amateur baseball win over the Clark Traders on Friday.

Cordell finished 5 of 6 and hammered a two-run homer, while Hirsch hit a solo shot. Alex Gauer added three hits and an RBI. Ethan Benck and Cael Sutton had two hits apiece, while Sutton drove in three runs. Benck drove in two runs. Tucker Wookey added a hit. The Ravens recorded 14 total hits. 

Wookey struck out five batters, allowed three hits, one earned run and zero walks in his five-inning start. Gauer struck out five batters, gave up four hits, three earned runs and walked four batters in four relief innings. 

Brent Griffith recorded three hits and drove in two runs. Grayson Florey and Wesley Jones had two hits apiece. Jones struck out six batters, allowed nine hits, eight runs (seven earned) and walked three batters in his five-inning start.

Dimock-Emery Raptors 15, Mount Vernon Mustangs 6

MOUNT VERNON — Dimock-Emery erupted for 16 hits and two home runs in a Sunshine League amateur baseball win over Mount Vernon on Friday. 

Phil Johnson finished 3 of 4 and drove in five runs, while he struck out four batters and gave up two hits in four scoreless innings of relief. Drew Kitchens added three hits, two RBI and hit a solo homer. Peyton Nash, Sam Pischke, Sam Arend and Sam Michels each had two hits. Michels smacked a three-run home run in the first inning. Gene Kitchens and Tyson Kayser each had hits. 

Connor Solano gave up five hits, six earned runs, walked three batters and struck out one batter in his five-inning start to earn the win. 

Mount Vernon’s Spencer Neugebauer finished 3 of 5 and crushed a three-run homer. Briggs Havlik added two hits and an RBI. Luke Tiesler and Kade Bialas each had hits. Havlik, Bialas and Cameron Deinert each drove in runs. Havlik took the loss after allowing 10 hits, eight earned runs, one walk and struck out two batters in his three-inning start.
