Belle Fourche 8, Sturgis 2

STURGIS — Caeyn Howard struck out eight batters as Belle Fourche pulled away from Sturgis for a Legion baseball win on Friday.

Howard took the win on the mound in a complete game effort, allowing just two runs on four hits and four walks, striking out eight.

Raif Parmeter, Howard and Daven Kracht each had an RBI on one hit, including a solo homer by Parmeter, Tate Thomsen had two hits and an RBI while Gavin Pearson added two hits in the win.

For Sturgis, Cael Pool struck out nine batters in seven innings pitched, allowing eight runs on eight hits.

Brody Royer had two hits and an RBI while Kjell Sundstrum and Bridger Massa-Battin each had hits in the loss.


Valley City (N.D.) 13, Dell Rapids 2 (6 innings)

DELL RAPIDS — Dell Rapids fell to Valley City, North Dakota, in Legion action on Friday.

Thomas LaVoy took the loss in 2.1 innings, allowing two runs on three walks, striking out two.

Knox Cuny had an RBI on a walk while AJ Brandenburg, Connor Hanson, Ryan Brandenburg and LaVoy each had a hit in the loss.


Castlewood 11, Big Stone City 0 (6 innings)

BIG STONE CITY — Kaden Nedved tossed five shutout innings as Castlewood cruised to a Legion baseball win on Friday over Big Stone City.

Nedved allowed just one hit in five shutout innings, striking out seven batters on just 57 pitches.

Davis Gales had three RBIs on three hits, Logan McMillan added two hits, a double, and an RBI, Nedved, Brody Bass, Dante Schortzman, Kyrell Baker and Kypton Eidson all drove in a run while Jax Tharaldsen tallied three hits for Post 250.

For BSC, Kirby Olson took the loss in four innings pitched, allowing 10 runs on 12 hits and a walk, striking out one.

Josh Haugen had the lone hit in the loss.


Big Stone City 14, Castlewood 4 (4 innings)

BIG STONE CITY — Four different players drove in multiple runs as Big Stone City earned a mercy rule win over Castlewood during a Legion baseball doubleheader on Friday.

Braxton Brandriet had two RBIs on two hits for BSC while Ashton Sletten, Connor Ohm and Kirby Olson all tallied two RBIs on one hit. Avier Hughes had an RBI on one hit while Nash Kindleberger tallied an RBI on two walks in the win.

Brandriet earned the win on the mound in 2.2 innings pitched, allowing one run on two hits and a walk, striking out one.

For Castlewood, Logan McMillan took the loss in three innings of work, allowing 13 runs on six hits and six walks, striking out two.

Jax Tharaldsen had three RBIs on a triple while Brody Bass added an RBI in the loss.

 

Warner/Ipswich/Northville 3, Sioux Valley 2

NORTHVILLE — Warner/Ipswich/Northville earned a walk-off win over Sioux Valley during Friday’s Legion baseball action.

Despite getting no-hit, W/I/N pulled off the impossible, scoring two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Logan Fischbach tossed 6.1 innings for WIN, allowing two runs on four hits and a walk, striking out 14.

For SV, Wyatt Hardt took the loss in six innings pitched, allowing three unearned runs on five walks, striking out four.

Trentyn Schmit had two RBIs on a double while Tate Steffensen, Broden Teske and Braden Danzeisen each had a hit in the loss.


Wagner 12, Scotland/Menno/Freeman/Canistota 0 (5 innings)

WAGNER — Frank Soukup struck out seven batters as Wagner blanked Scotland/Menno/Freeman/Canistota in Legion action on Friday.

Soukup allowed just two hits and three walks in five shutout innings, striking out seven in the win.

Trasin Dilts had three RBIs on a triple for Wagner, Colton Zephier had two walks and an RBI while Cael Cooper drove in a run on a double and two walks in the win.

For SMFC, Trenton Guthmiller took the loss in 1.2 innings pitched, allowing eight runs on two hits and five walks, striking out five.

Kory Keppen and Easton Tschetter each had a hit in the loss.


Norfolk (Neb.) 10, Mitchell 7

SIOUX FALLS — Mitchell fell to Norfolk, Nebraska, during the Dakota Classic on Friday.

Noah Bennett took the loss in 5.2 innings pitched, allowing six runs on five hits and seven walks, striking out four.

Kaiden Allen had three hits and an RBI, Dawson Adams drove in a run on two walks, Carter McCormick added an RBI on three walks, Ian Weber had two hits and a walk while Tyler Christensen collected an RBI on a hit and two walks in the loss.


Mitchell 8, Omaha (Neb.) 0

SIOUX FALLS — Nolan Widstrom tossed six shutout innings as Mitchell blanked Omaha, Nebraska, in the Dakota Classic on Friday.

Widstrom allowed just two hits in six shutout innings, striking out two in the win.

Ian Weber and Quinton WIlson each had two RBIs on two hits, Ethan Hegg and Jaxson Hartman both added two hits, a walk, and an RBI while Kaiden Allen had an RBI on one hit in the win.


Anderson Ford (Neb.) 3, Dakota Valley 0

RENNER — Dakota Valley was shutout in its first game at the Dakota Classic on Friday.

Grady Ramos tossed six strong innings for the Panthers in the loss, allowing two runs on four hits and six walks, striking out six.

Ramos, Sterling Schauff, Vincent Hoffman and Will Schnabel each had a hit in the loss.


Devils Lake (N.D.) 10, Dakota Valley 2 (5 innings)

RENNER — Dakota Valley fell in its second game at the Dakota Classic on Friday.

Noah Graham allowed five runs on six hits and two walks in four innings, striking out five for the Panthers.

Grady Ramos and Jack Jones each had an RBI on one hit in the loss.


Elkhorn North (Neb.) 4, Brandon Valley 0

BRANDON — Brandon Valley gave up four runs late to lose in the Dakota Classic on Friday.

Caleb Severin took the loss in six innings of work, allowing three unearned runs on two hits and a walk, striking out three.

Brayden Knutson and Jack Blomgren each had a hit in the loss.


Brandon Valley 8, East Grand Forks (N.D.) 4

BRANDON — Brandon Valley took down East Grand Forks, North Dakota, at the Dakota Classic on Friday.

Will VanLeur tossed five innings for BV, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks, striking out three in the win.

Bryce Plucker had two RBIs on a hit and a walk, Ryder Mueller added two RBIs on a walk, Jack Blomgren had an RBI while Maxwell Peters collected an RBI on a hit and two walks in the win.
