June 19 Legion Baseball Roundup - Alexandria powers past Colton with 16 run performance

ALEXANDRIA — Alexandria raced past Colton for a Legion baseball win on Sunday.

Ethan Cheeseman earned the win for Alexandria, allowing five runs on one hit and striking out four.

Cheeseman, Hadley Wallace, and Riley Haynes each had three hits to lead Alexandria, while Jackson Jarding, Hunter Robinson, and Bodie Burnham each added two runs. Cheeseman, Haynes, and Robinson each drove in three runs, while Gavin Doyle and Kade Waldera drove in two runs apiece. Wallace also stole three bases.

Kaden Egger took the loss for Colton, allowing 14 runs on 12 hits, while striking out eight and walking one in 3 ⅔ innings.

Egger, Cole Fokken, and Riley Carlson each had one hit to lead Colton.


Winner/Colome 3, Sturgis Post 33 Titans 2

STURGIS — Winner/Colome picked up a Legion baseball win over the Sturgis Post 33 Titans on Sunday.

Ryder Halligan took the win for Winner/Colome, allowing two runs on four hits in seven innings, while striking out one.

Aiden Barfuss led Winner/Colome with three hits in four at bats, while Ashton Klein added two hits in four at bats.

Beau Peters took the loss for the Sturgis Post 33 Titans, giving up two runs on seven hits in 5 ⅓ innings, while striking out two.


Brandon Valley Post 131 2, 138ers 1

SIOUX FALLS — Brandon Valley 131 earned a narrow Legion baseball win over the 138ers at the Dakota Classic on Sunday.

Jared Zerr picked up the win for Post 131, pitching seven innings and allowing three hits and one run, while striking out five.

Nate Meyers led Post 131 with two hits in three at bats, while also driving in two runs. 

Tyler Quackenbush took the loss for the 138ers, giving up two runs on six hits in six innings, while striking out eight and walking one.

Griffin Olson led the 138ers with two hits in three at bats.


Anderson Ford (North Star) (Neb.) 5, Brandon Valley Post 131 0

SIOUX FALLS — Anderson Ford (North Star) picked up a Legion baseball win over Brandon Valley Post 131 at the Dakota Classic on Sunday.

Cameron Teinert picked up the win for Anderson Ford, pitching seven innings and allowing zero runs on two hits, while striking out six and walking one.

Teinert and Preston Yates each had two hits to lead Anderson Ford, while Teinert also drove in two runs.

Nick Hokenstad took the loss for Post 131, allowing five hits and three runs in four innings, while striking out five.

Nate Meyers and Daniel Butyen each had one hit to lead Post 131.


Yankton Post 12 9, Post 911 Chargers 4

SIOUX FALLS — Yankton Post 12 scored seven runs in the fifth inning to pull away from the Post 911 Chargers for a Legion baseball win on Sunday.

Michael Mors took the win for Post 12, giving up three runs on four hits in five innings.

Lucas Kampshoff led Post 12 with two hits in four at bats. Mors added four stolen bases, as Post 12 combined for 18 stolen bases in the game.

Jake Isakson took the loss for the Post 911 Chargers, allowing one hit and zero runs in 1 ⅓ innings, while striking out one.  

Tim DeSautel, Austin Connell, Cole Snyder, Tate Snyder, and Aidan Strandberg each had one hit to lead the Post 911 Chargers.


Lincoln North Stars (Neb.) 5, Aberdeen Smittys 4 

LENNOX — The Lincoln North Stars edged the Aberdeen Smittys in a Legion baseball game on Sunday.

Lynden Bruegeman took the win for the Lincoln North Stars, giving up four runs on three hits in 3 ⅓ innings, while striking out five.

Casper Wesslund led the Lincoln North Stars with two hits in four at bats.

Casey Vining took the loss for the Aberdeen Smittys, allowing five hits and five runs in 3 ⅓ innings, while striking out four.

Vining and Josh Steinwandt led the Aberdeen Smittys with two hits apiece.


Post 70 Flandreau 13, Valentine Seniors (Neb.) 1

PIERCE, NEB. — Post 70 Flandreau raced past the Valentine Seniors for a Legion baseball win on Sunday.

Tash Lunday picked up the win for Post 70 Flandreau allowing three hits and one run in five innings, while striking out seven.

Kolby Peters led Post 70 with three hits in four at bats and also drove in four runs. Maddox Biever and Tison Burggraff each tallied two hits. Lunday, Sam Gassman, and Tristan Peters each had two RBI’s.

Cameron Jordan took the loss for the Valentine Seniors, allowing five hits and seven runs in two innings, while striking out three.

Connor Fowler led the Valentine Seniors with two hits in two at bats.


Pierce Seniors (Neb.) 6, Post 70 Flandreau 5

PIERCE, NEB. — The Pierce Seniors edged Post 70 Flandreau for a Legion baseball win on Sunday.

Haiden Magnussen took the win for the Pierce Seniors, allowing five runs on eight hits and striking out five in six innings.

Jackson Wachholtz led the Pierce Seniors with two hits in three at bats. 

Sam Gassman took the loss for Post 70, allowing five runs on four hits in 4 ⅔ innings, while striking out three.

Ethan Hoffman led Post 70 with two hits in four at bats, while also stealing three bases.
