Canova Gang 19, Colton Post 206 1

COLTON — Luke Koepsell’s big day helped lead the Canova Gang to a Legion baseball win over Colton Post 206 on Thursday.

Koepsell drove in five runs and had three hits in four at bats to lead the Canova Gang. Jackson Remmers, Lane Miller, and Jack Neises each had two hits. Nolan Mentele drove in three runs, while Kieffer Klinkhammer, Weston Remmers, and Griffin Clubb each drove in two runs.

Miller led the Canova Gang on the mound, allowing one run on three hits in five innings, while striking out five.

Nathan Madison took the loss for Colton Post 206, pitching ⅔ of an inning and allowing four runs on zero hits.

Noah Haynes, Cole Fokken, and Conner Christensen each had one hit, while Kaden Egger drove in one run for Colton Post 206.


Brandon Valley Post 131 13, Watertown Post 17 9

WATERTOWN — Brandon Valley Post 131 outlasted Watertown Post 17 in a Legion baseball game on Thursday.

Sam Sejnoha picked up the win for Post 131, allowing one run on three hits, while striking out one in two innings. Tayden Mitchell started the game for Post 131, pitching 3 ⅓ innings and allowing four hits and four runs, while striking out two.

Brandon Valley Post 131 recorded 15 hits, with Logan Kelling leading the way with three hits in four at bats. Daniel Butyen, Ty Peyton, Matt Brown, and Dawson Skorczewski each had two hits. Brown led with four RBI and one home run, while Butyen and Austin Reiter had three and two RBI, respectively. Kelling, Peyton, and Skorczewski each drove in one run.

Chase Christianson took the loss for Post 17, allowing three hits and five runs in one inning, while striking out one. Andrew Czech started the game for Post 17, allowing eight hits and six runs in four innings, while striking out five.

Watertown Post 17 racked up 12 hits, with Carson Mutschler, Jack Heesch, and Ben Althoff each recording two hits. Braedon Zaug drove in two runs.

Brandon Valley Post 131 also won Game 2, 10-1. 


Redfield Post 92 10, Groton Post 39 7

REDFIELD — Redfield Post 92 held off Groton Post 39 for a Legion baseball win on Thursday.

Peyton Osborn took the win for Redfield Post 92, allowing eight hits and three runs, while striking out nine in six innings.

Erik Salmen led Post 92 with two hits in three at bats. Elliot Komraus had four RBI, including a grand slam in the fifth inning.

Jackson Cogley took the loss for Groton Post 39, allowing four hits and nine runs in 4 ⅔ innings, while striking out three.

Groton Post 39 racked up nine hits for the day. Ryan Groeblinghoff led Post 39 with three hits in four at bats and three RBI, while Tate Larson added two hits and one RBI.

Groton Post 39 won Game 2 by a score of 8-3.


Dakota Valley Post 319 8, Garretson 3

GARRETSON — Dakota Valley Post 319 pulled away from Garretson for a Legion baseball win on Thursday.

Brayden Major took the win for Dakota Valley Post 319, allowing two runs on six hits in six innings, while striking out four and walking one.

Jaxon Hennies led Dakota Valley Post 319 with two hits in four at bats.

Colby Busenon took the loss for Garretson, giving up two hits and three runs, while striking out 11 in 5 ⅓ innings.

Jayse Miller and Tayson Swatek each had two hits to lead Garretson.


Sturgis Post 33 10, Spearfish Post 164 5

RAPID CITY — Sturgis Post 33 picked up a Legion baseball win over Spearfish Post 164 on Thursday.

Dustin Alan took the win for Sturgis Post 33, allowing four hits and five runs in seven innings, while striking out eight and walking one.

Ridge Inhofer and David Anderson led Sturgis Post 33 with three hits apiece, while Beau Peters tallied two hits. Anderson and Owen Cass drove in three runs each, while Peters drove in one run.

Noah Mollman took the loss for Spearfish Post 164, allowing nine runs on ten hits and striking out two in 3 ⅔ innings.

Alec Sundsted led Spearfish Post 164 with two hits in three at bats and one RBI.


Platte/Geddes WhiteCaps 10, Parkston Post 194 6

PLATTE — The Platte/Geddes WhiteCaps held off Parkston Post 194 for a Legion baseball win on Thursday.

Dawson Hoffman took the win for the WhiteCaps, allowing six runs on eight hits and striking out nine in seven innings.

Platte/Geddes talled 14 hits, with Aiden Bultje leading the way with three hits in five at bats. Hoffman, Jaxon Christensen, Grayson Hanson, and Jackson Neuman each added two hits. Hanson and Joey Foxley drove in three runs apiece, while Neuman drove in two runs.

Kaleb Weber took the loss for Post 194, pitching three innings and allowing seven runs on nine hits, while striking out five.

Ty Neugebauer and Jay Storm each collected two hits to lead Post 194, while Storm also drove in two runs.


Tabor Post 183 4, Alexandria 2

ALEXANDRIA — Tabor Post 183 rallied past Alexandria for a Legion baseball win on Thursday.

Nolan Dvorak took the win for Tabor Post 183, allowing five hits and two runs in seven innings, while striking out 11 and walking one.

Dvorak also led Tabor Post 183 with three hits in four at bats.

Gavin Doyle took the loss for Alexandria, giving up four runs on eight hits in seven innings, while striking out one and walking one.

Hadley Wallace, Keenan Waldera, Jackson Jarding, Hunter Robinson, and Kade Waldera each had one hit for Alexandria.


Post 911 Chargers 12, Beresford/Alcester-Hudson Post 72 Black Sox 2

SIOUX FALLS — The Post 911 Chargers raced past the Beresford/Alcester-Hudson Post 72 Black Sox in a Legion baseball game on Thursday.

Elijah Myers took the win for the Post 911 Chargers, allowing two runs on six hits and striking out eight 5 ⅔ innings.

Aidan Strandberg and Titus Hart each had two hits to lead the Post 911 Chargers. Hart also drove in three runs.

Alex Winquist took the loss for Beresford/Alcester-Hudson, giving up 11 runs on six hits in three innings, while striking out two.

Isaac Ward led Beresford/Alcester-Hudson with two hits in three at bats and one RBI.


Post 320 Stars 9, Aberdeen Smittys 3

RAPID CITY — The Post 320 Stars earned a Legion baseball win over the Aberdeen Smittys on Thursday.

Jett Wetzler led the Post 320 Stars on the hill, giving up three runs on six hits in six innings, while striking out two and walking one.

Lane Darrow, Walker Vliestra, Mason Mehlhaff, and Isaac Dike each recorded two hits to lead the Post 320 Stars. Darrow drove in three runs, while Dike and Mehlhaff drove in one run apiece.

Brock Martin took the loss for the Aberdeen Smittys, allowing four hits and six runs in three innings, while striking out three.

Casey Vining and Jaiden Smith each tallied two hits to lead the Aberdeen Smittys, while Vining also drove in two runs.


Pierre Post 8 13, Minot (N.D) 7

PIERRE — Pierre Post 8 picked up a Legion baseball win over Minot (N.D.) on Thursday.

Brecken Krueger took the win for Pierre Post 8, giving up four runs on six hits in five innings, while striking out seven and walking one.

Jonny Lyons led Post 8 with three hits in four at bats, while Krueger and Gary Nedved each had two hits. Matthew Hanson drove in three runs, while Krueger and George Stalley each drove in two runs.
