Madison's Shane Veenhoff is top South Dakota hurdler at Ruthe Marske Invitational

BROOKINGS — Madison’s Shane Veenhoff delivered two solid performances at Saturday’s Ruth Marske Invitational on the campus of South Dakota State University.

Still only a junior, Veenhoff won the 300-meter hurdles (:39.82) and finished fourth in the 110-meter hurdles (:14.81). 

Sioux Falls Lincoln’s Griffin Fischer was a double-winner winning the 100-meter dash (:10.8) and 200-meter dash (:21.96).

Brandon Valley junior Mikah Peters won the 1,600-meter run in a meet record time of 4:18.19.

Sioux Falls Lincoln 3,200-meter relay team of (Joseph Levesque, Tyrus Needles, Miles Lechtenberg and Nayati Ringing Shield) (8:12). 

 Brandon Valley’s Wyatt Melcher won the high jump (6-05) while teammate Maddox Mueller won the pole vault (13-06).

Sioux Falls Jefferson had a pair of event winners as Jensen Hrymonimus won the 400-meter dash (:50.44) and Danal Dean the long jump (22-04). 

In girls action Kali RInstmeyer won the 100-meter dash (:12.16) and the 200-meter dash (:25.12). Pierre’s Charlee Williams-Smith won the 400-meter dash (:57:24). Emery Larson with the 3,200-meter run(11:38.10).

The Sioux Falls Lincoln girls had a solid day with Mia Kadi winning the 1,600-meter run (5:10.50), Kenya Harris won the 100-meter hurdles (:14.94), Rylee Punt the pole vault (12-00) and Ella Termaat the long jump (17-02). 

The Sioux Falls Roosevelt girls won the 800-meter relay (1:46.18) and Aberdeen Central’s Lucy Fritz the triple jump (35-01)
